yeh, i have gone back to DVD XP, as it works fine. All im trying to play is a normal DVD, my region, original disc, and tried different DVD's as well

yeh, shud have said, im just runnin XP, not XP64 basically, the problem I have is playback just doesnt happen, you can hear it, just no picture on the video screen, just black. Now if you move the mouse of it it flashes and you can see the film under it for a split second. Also, when I patch it, and press stop on playback, still with no image, it crashes. it would probably work fine without the patch if i can just get the video out! lol And i fully uninstalled DVD XP, and removed any registry entires it left.

Ok, I got Power DVD 6 Deluxe dirt cheap, came to install it to have major problems. Downloaded patches etc, no luck. Contacted customer support, first response was a load of crap. Second response, Power DVD not compatible with 64bit Processors.... Heres my point: I have Power DVD XP which works FINE! Why in the hell does a newer version not work!!?!?!? How stupid is that! So, my question, does anyone know of a fix for it?

I have an external Maxtor which Ive had years, no probs. Got a Seagate in me bros, which has been fine for a few years. Got 3 WD's in mine, had them about 1-2 years, no probs. But ive had endless problems with internal Maxors, at home and at work, I only ever use WD now.

Five bucks says that if you go to your nearest computer store and try out a Mac, you will come out carrying an extra 5-10 pounds (in weight)! That's what happened to me, but in a different way... If i liked Apple I would Im like some people are towards Microsoft, but with Apple, I wouldn't touch any Apple equipment with a barge poll! IPod's, IMac's, I whatever, not in my house! lol They do look nice, I wont say they don't. I just dont like Apples. If I had a Mac, I'd just be comparing it to Windows.

I seem to have developed a strange Italic font problem... I don't know how its happened, but suddenly some of my fonts get displayed as italic. for example, in Google: Example here I have tried chaging the text encoding in IE, with no change. I also get it on only SOME other webpages. I also had it in WinAmp with the playlist windows and music libary, they diplayed as italic, but found that if I turn: Use FreeType internal TTF rendering off, it then reverts back to normal text. Any help in this is appricated, as im totall ylost, all i cna guess is that its sommit to do with the windows encoding.
