  1. yup, see this thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=78312
  2. why don't you try searching and you wll see this has already been covered
  3. rofl someone has their angry pants on! thanks for the tip
  4. I'd imagine by changing the following variable: 1024 = 800 768 = 600 see below ;Resolution Setup Billboard HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VgaSave\Device0","DefaultSettings.BitsPerPel",0x00010001,32 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VgaSave\Device0","DefaultSettings.XResolution",0x00010001,800 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VgaSave\Device0","DefaultSettings.YResolution",0x00010001,600 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{23A77BF7-ED96-40EC-AF06-9B1F4867732A}\0000","DefaultSettings.BitsPerPel",0x00010001,32 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{23A77BF7-ED96-40EC-AF06-9B1F4867732A}\0000","DefaultSettings.XResolution",0x00010001,800 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{23A77BF7-ED96-40EC-AF06-9B1F4867732A}\0000","DefaultSettings.YResolution",0x00010001,600
  5. The best and most thorough way to test your unattended CD's is to have a second PC or laptop or something that you can play around with, that way you can test drivers and everything. Failing that, Virtual PC is about your only option.
  6. nice looking site N1K, I like it, and I think it is much more pleasing to the eye and easier to read than msfn homepage, however you website gives me the impression that it is an updated version of msfn! Please don't take offense, none intended, I have registered and bookmarked
  7. could be have you modded you WLM install at all, like with a-patch? Did you remove certain language components that maybe needed? What language is your OS? Maybe ATTACH (not cop and paste) your last_session.ini so we can see what you have removed. Also, perhaps you should try reinstalling your OS with less options/components removed?
  8. Have you read the replies in this thread? There will be no Vista support in nLite until Vista is AT LEAST shipped as a final release
  9. your post isn't very clear at all.. are you using application addons with nLite or RunOnceEx.cmd to install your applications?
  10. That's interesting, if they execute at the same time then what is the point in utilising both?
  11. I also suggest you attached your last_session.ini so we can see what you have done with this installation
  12. making this guide a sticky is not recommended as it is not always possible to restore a removed component and often requires the installation cd to be remade. You should always be very careful with what you are removing! And why don't you bookmark the thread when you find it?
  13. it isn't possible to do what you are asking with nLite, however take a look in the Unattended Windows forum for many threads relating to customising the Start Menu.
  14. I thought the same thing! Perhaps Xpero spurred them on to replace those outdated bitmaps they have neglected for so long
  15. As mazin said, psshutdown.exe is a similar utility to shutdown.exe. And that line of code is at the very beginning of the 1st cleanup.cmd. My question is would I require this line in my 2nd cleanup.cmd that is executed from [GuiRunOnce] ?
  16. Ok so I finally got the custom exe to install silently without needing to extract its contents first.. I added StartX.exe to the exe archive and now it executes flawlessly
  17. ok, so I used the Windows Live Messenger silent installer of shark's and created a sfx archive to replace the modified files created by apatch. Worked flawlessly.
  18. ok, so I ran my cleanup.cmd from [GuiRunOnce] but the dotnet folder is still present on c:\ here is my cleanup.cmd cmdow @ /HID psshutdown.exe -r -f -t 30 -c "Cleaning installation; XP will restart in 30 seconds..." net user aspnet /delete FOR %%? IN (log tmp) DO (DEL/A/S/F/Q "%SYSTEMROOT%\*.%%?") DEL "%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Microsoft Update.lnk" DEL "%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\Internet Explorer.lnk" DEL "%UserProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\Internet Explorer.lnk DEL "%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Temp\*.*" RD /S /Q %UserProfile%\My Documents\ RD /S /Q %AllUsersProfile%\Documents\ RD /S /Q %systemdrive%\Install\ RD /S /Q %systemdrive%\dot20\ EXIT I'm thinking would it be best to run say cleanup1.cmd via runonceex.cmd and then cleanup2.cmd from [GuiRunOnce] ? If I was to execute a second cleanup.cmd from [GuiRunOnce] would I require this first line? cmdow @ /HID psshutdown.exe -r -f -t 30 -c "Cleaning installation; XP will restart in 30 seconds..."
  19. I know this tool is old, but I have no reason to upgrade to Nero 7... hmm I'm having the same problem... when I attempt to run the custom installer I've created I get the same 7-Zip error as listed above, however if I extract the exe file and execute the Nero_Installer.cmd then the installation works flawlessly how can I create the custom installer for silent installation for my uacd?
  20. I'm trying to repackage the installer but the WinRAR sfx installer I am creating just wont run.. I am following the instructions from the second post in this thread but when I double click the installer a black cmd window flashes briefly then nothing?
  21. I have edited the ini files to how I want the packages to install, but I am unsure what to do with the files now so they will install silently.. do I simply execute the ini file instead of the exe file as below? REG ADD %KEY%\002 /VE /D "WMlite 10" /f REG ADD %KEY%\002 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\Install\apps\WMLite.ini" /f
