  1. interesting read that link, thanks for posting!
  2. perhaps this 'Sereby's pack' discussion can be continued in another thread?!
  3. Recently I've been using the free application InstallRite 2.5 (here) to monitor my application installs, which notes changes to the system and registry when you install an application. This little application also enables you to customise your application (define what files are installed, associations, shortcuts etc) and create an installer package from the results. Is there someting I am missing with creating installer packages with this application? It is very simple to use and modify your application installations and create install packages, so I'm wondering why I haven't really heard of this application on these forums before? What are other memebers experiences with this application?
  4. at least ATTACH (not copy and paste) your last_session.ini...
  5. start here
  6. Welcome to MSFN! @nuhi, enough with the posting, get back to your basement and keep programming those new features!
  7. oooh I preview version of 2.1.0 I assume? Great work nuhi, bring those new features hard and fast!
  8. what I meant J was that you wouldn't like bottled leaf's "You probably just browse the web anyway" comment. Gotta love those kinda comments from a newbie lol now, back on topic. I had the same issue you are experiencing with the runtimes, it's really wierd. I couldn't figure out how to fix it, but when I reformatted and reinatalled the runtimes and nLite 1.0 it worked again. Strange behaviour indeed
  9. wow bottled leaf, how presumptious of you to think you know how another person uses their pc. Jeremy's not gona like this and the fact of the matter is Jeremy has stated he doesn't want to install .net2.0, so quit harping on about it. It doesn't solve the issue as to why the runtimes are not working. And besides why do you think the runtimes are made available? Perhaps because others don't want to install .net2.0 on their machines also?
  10. I have created a custom winntbbu.dll using WinntbuED 0.3.1 When I preview the completed image, I am given 3 different preview resolution options small 640x480 medium 800x600 large 1024x768 Now, when I preview my billboard using the large resolution, the billboard looks exactly how I want it to. The other resolutions affect the billboard in different ways (ie picture cut off/off centre, blurring etc) Is there a way I can specify which resolution my Windows XP setup will run in? It appears to run at 640x480 which results in my billboards being skewed/off centre I am using a 17" TFT Samsung monitor if that makes a difference. download billboard from pinned topic If you preview the billboard using WinntbuED 0.3.1 you will have a better understanding of what I am referring to

  13. care to elaborate on this new page a little more? Sounds VERY interesting
  14. all the best for a great 21st Jeremy!
  15. while I couln't care less if nLite never goes final, I think it is silly to even think about slimming down Vista before a final is even released! Lets concentrate on current OS's, shall we?
  16. I wish to rename 2 specific links from within the Start Menu for my unattended cd: Rename My Computer to 'piXel' Rename (C:) Local Disk to 'piXel' I wish to rename both of these links unattendedly, how would I go about it? Thanks for any assistance
  17. I'd be very interested in knowing how to completely delete the All Users Start Menu and replacing with a complete custom one
  18. If my understanding of this particular script is correct, when the 101_AllUsers.7z is decompressed it wont actually delete anything from the Start Menu just add whatever is within the 7z file? Therefore the only way to delete things from the Start Menu is with the CleanAllUsersStartMenuYN=Yes command and following Del statement? Basically what I am saying is is it possible to create a custom AllUsers.7z that will completely overwrite the default Start Menu (delete everything from it) and only install what is within the AllUsers.7z? I hope that made sense
  19. ok, thanks for the heads up Yzowl
  20. thanks very much for your indepth explanation much appreciated!
  21. After a clean nLitened XP install there are several empty folders laying about that can be deleted manually. Does anyone know a method or have a script that can delete these for me during install?
  22. you do not need to install .net 1.1 if you are installing .net 2.0
  23. using my cleanup.cmd file, I wish to delete all .tmp and log files created within the WINDOWS directory and it's subfolders. I also wish to delete all empty folders. What commands would I use to achieve this? Thanks for any assistance
  24. hmm very interesting AngelOfCake, I too use Aston Shell but have yet to work out how to silently install it. I shall try your example
  25. ZileXa What you have described in your post sounds exactly like what I am wanitng to do with my unattended install! Any chance you could write up a quick guide on how you achieve some of these things? I am particularly interested in how you have this setup/scripted: any assistance would be greatly appreciated
