What visual style are you using ? It looks so nice and clean and wonderful. Also, I absolutely need this wallpaper : Last but not least, mr.brownstone how do you manage to get those "now playing" infos on your desktop. Is it a foobar plugin ? Oh and forgot : No time to play. I have to finish something with nlite, then WIHU, HFSlip, ... exams. Only then I'll use Litestep and bother with visual things.

I tried to install the new drivers on my Turion. It's maybe langage related but it did not work. I could not install using AMD's installer, inf method did not work either. It says I'm not running the good platform. I checked the inf and it contains entries needed by my CPU. :/

When I need to minimize CDShell, I use Crtl+Alt+Del. I don't know if it is what you wanted.

If you're using rehgshot or any similar tool, you have to select "Apply to all folders" in tools, folder options, display when changing view. Otherwise it only gets applied to the current window (when it does).

I was thinking compressing some dll files may cause problems with recovery console. It's possible but not sure at all since many .exe files simply don't run in PE environnement. So it should be check imho. Btw, there's a ntdll.dll file in I386\System32 and it seems it never gets updated. The one in I386 should overwrite that one. That would moreover save some space if -o switch is used to create the iso. And I think it should not be cabbed it the one in I386\System32 can not be cabbed as well : cabbing it saves 400KB and if the other one is not cabbed you won't take advantage of -o and then it will cost 665KB; 665-400 = 265KB that are not saved. I probably look weird with all my maths to get an iso smaller by 250KB. I also wonder why is YAHOO.BMP not removed with nLite : 4KB.

Btw in latest version, if you are running a french windows but don't have the corresponding translation in translation.ini, many dialogs will be missing.

I read http://www.bitsum.com/aboutwfp.asp#Hack_Method_2 and found it very interesting on the performance side. Afaik, if modified sfcfiles.dll or sfc*.dll are used, monitoring is not stopped. Of course if you use an empty sfcfiles.dll it will monitor 0 files but imho it is still a performance lack (and also if I disable wfp, I prefer to do it at 100%). Does anyone know how to do that ? Adding something to be run at each startup to stop it ? Use some modded files ? (to find "sfc" in winlogon.exe you need to search for 73 00 66 00 63; Unicode ?)

What is SP3's release date ? If it is after SP1a support is discontinued ? If so could you please keep your list up-to-date until SP3 is available ? Thanks a lot.

Open regedit and go to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\ Then take a look at the different values. Is there any thing that seems weird? (values will be self-explanatory) Btw, I use SP1 and modifying these values at T-12 works perfectly.

I won't use it since I use WIHU and 7zip but I find your work greate. Also, I think you could achieve higher compression by using this switches with makecab: makecab /D CompressionMemory=21 /D CompressionType=LZX file.ext This works with makecab but I don't know if cabarc accepts it.

I don't know but I use this topic to say I did not forget I promised a french translation. I had no time to do a proper translation but I should be able soon. Also, I'm building an AHK script/app that will alphabetically sort install.ini files. Has this been already done ?

I think I could test it on XP. I'm not sure because to test I would need to borrow another computer and I don't know if I will be able to soon. About the icon thing, you can do it with reshacker or XN Resource editor. Reshacker supports directive files which can be really helpful in such projects. For example, that's how files are updated when installing Bircopacks (flyakiteOSX/Gant/Milk....)

Delprat, is the "modifype" thing really needed for notepad2 ? I ALWAYS used cabbed notepad2 instead of regular notepad and never had any problem. I think you only need it if you hack the file with something such as an hax editor.

Not 7z.exe, 7za.exe The former uses about 30 dlls to compress and expand.

Of course, I just thought HFSlip already extracted and recompressed those installers.

WMLite11 is broken. That's clear. I installed it and was not able to play videos from m6.fr or microsoft.com With WMLite10, no problem. But that doesn't happen if you have WMPLite10.
