1. Here is a part of vgx.inf : "DisplayName="Rendu VML (Vector Graphics Rendering)"" The question is : does IE6 on XP need an external file to render VML ? Or rather : does it even supports SVG ? Wikipedia claims there is no such support (link) I found no string containing "SVG" in the registry of a full-SP2 computer and no files named gvx, and clicking on a link to a svg file in IE does not let you "open", you can only "save". But nLite lets you remove VML Rendering which is the same as SVG. I think I'll asn nuhi which files are concerned.
2. Hum, forgot to show something. edit: changed from xs.to to imageshack.us because it doesn't resize images.
3. I also read lots of things saying that. But the list HFNetChk uses says it is needed. And this list was made by MS. In fact it seems like proper SP1a support has already been dropped. I'll do some tests in my VM. :/
4. From http://www.microsoft.com/france/technet/se...e/ms04-028.mspx But on this page : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=fr you can read : But it's not finished yet. On the same page, about gdiplus.dll you will find : But, this update package doesn't include any gdiplus.dll. Only a file called vgx.dll. HFNetChk complains if this file is not present and hfnetchk's list is from M$. Lastly if you try to install this update on XP SP1a, you will get an error saying W2K is required. at least twice!
5. MD5/hashes will be different for each language so it's not really possible to use them.
6. Ok. Anyway, with latest test version, everything is OK. All updates are present, tested without nLite. HFNetChk reports all WMP updates are present, MDAC update not present (normal since I don't want it), and two files version greater as expected. And just a quick note : these files are post-installed: Q914798.EXE Q840374.EXE Q832483.EXE Thanks a lot for this version.
7. I tried latest test release without nlite; wmpui.dll should be updated since I have WMP8 (which I usually remove with nLite). Other updates seem to be alright (though I still have to test two of them I did not have in \HF) edit: @Tomcat, 833989 seems to be needed but you do not list it. It corrects the GDI+ vulnerability. It is really confusing because lots of applications are concerned but I think I finally understood it: -KB833987 updates Windows GDI+ component -KB833989 updates IE6 SP1 GDI+ component See this page (in french) http://www.microsoft.com/france/technet/se...e/ms04-028.mspx The IE6 patch is listed at the middle of the page and contains vgx.dll.
8. Not old, just not as young as some others.
9. Software is international. .... is toooooooooo looooooongunprofessional or professional is only for you, not universal... Why not let the user type the name.
10. So if I call you TAiN, I'm your momma ?
11. It's me who should thank you.
12. I tried WMLite11 again and I couldn't play any streamed video. Maybe it is because I'm runnning XP SP1 and WMP11 needs XP SP2. I'll try in a clean VM install later this week.
13. That's really nice to hear. And your photos are so impressive. Anyway, I'm really glad everything is getting better.
14. :die: :die: :die: I hate teasers! I can't wait for it. And Nakatomi2010 imho it is normal the new BASE performs better than any old one for two reasons : rewritten and writtent in a better language.
15. 0521d as far as I remember and HFCleanup (dblinxp.ext I think).
16. 7za is only for 7z, zip, tar, gz, bz2 and z. Afaik 7za handles as many types as 7z+dlls. However it might not always have been true. I read this file was not updated on sourceforge until recently. :don'treallyknow: Also, there is a new major version of PeID available. And another thanks for this app.
17. Here are two screenshots : Locale is fr and languages.ini only contains [de] and [fr]. I, for example, I rename [de] to [fr], I get : As you see, it's not a big bug and if I use /languages=en, there's no problem. Thanks. B) edit: 1000th messages. :woot:  :girls:
18. Yes please specify this 'cause here there are only 30 minutes left before 00:30 ! Oh **** I should go to bed it's school tomorow.
19. Even though I did use nlite, HFNetChk does not complain about any missing update. In fact it says blablablaSP1, not SP2, blablabla and 2 files that have file versions greater than expected. It's maybe the best iso I ever made. Thanks a lot.
20. A few weeks ago I posted "new" visual reg tweaks I found when running ProcessExplorer and then regedit at T-12 : the only keys which had names such as "ListviewWatermark" where stored there. It has always been working for me. I had no time to test RC8 so I don't know what it does but I *guess* something has been changed there. Normally, "Checked Value" is "1" and "UncheckValue" is "0". The behavior you depict makes me think the values have been exchanged. Just a guess.
21. Nice one. And good to know I don't look like an ultra-geek.
22. Are you alright ? Back to the topic : tcsenter, wait a few days and see how things goes, it is likely your problem will be fixed soon. Also, PMs exist.
23. Thanks a lot to you all.
24. I still don't see mldonkey ! http://mldonkey.sf.net
25. Are you sure your CPU speed decreased ? I *heard* it was not possible with 98 because CPU was always used at 100%.
