What is the best FTP server for Business use?
Camarade_Tux replied to shraouf's topic in Software Hangout
I like FTPServer : http://fr.typsoft.com/ However it is not necessarilly the best one for business use. -
FLAC is pretty like RAR or UHA since it is lossless. Only thing. And why not MPC, it's trully wonderful? http://www.musepack.net/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musepack Decoding is natively supported in Foobar. In fact, I checked some websites and it seems that Ogg now beats MPC which has not been updated for months. Conclusion : go with Ogg.

gaim at least no, trillian will probably need a plugin or something, not sure about this last Afaik you need Trillian Pro. Video is being implemented in Gaim but is in developpement.

In fact, it is OK. I still have to add a few things (language collision, progress bar, dialogs to ask for the SOURCE folder) but this is how it looks right now: edit: language collision solved, another bug solved. User Interface tonight. Also, I'm thinking about copying the files to the CD since any hotfix will overwrite patched files and restore original icons. Having the files on the CD will let you reload everyhting. And, I do not patch sfc_os.dll ! I have other things to do. Last, this should work with 2k too.

Use 80, 21. Maybe that 65 works too. .... Hey, don't kick me! Also, BitComet is a nice app, which is not slow, does not take much RAM, is performant.

:/ I had no time to learn a "true" coding langage and now I have an old problem with AutoHotKey : I can't use dots in a variable content. I'll see if I can do it with AutoIt instead. Otherwise, I'll have to drop the source and hope someone can code it with another language. Anyway, here's half of the source: SetWorkingDir, D:\Scratch\Download\VIPv2_SP SysPatch = $COMMONFILES\Vista Icon Pack v2 Ultimate - System Patch SOURCESS=D:\Adrien\Sources\hfslip\SOURCE Loop, Read, main.txt { if A_Index != 1 { StringTrimRight, IUV, %A_LoopReadLine%, 1 CAB=%IUV%_ RunWait, expand -r %SOURCESS%\I386\CAB %A_WorkingDir%\WORK StringTrimRight, IUV, %A_LoopReadLine%, 4 RES=%IUV%.res RunWait, %SysPatch%\ResHacker.exe -addoverwrite %A_WorkingDir%\WORK\%A_LoopReadLine%, %A_WorkingDir%\WORK\%A_LoopReadLine%, %SysPatch%\%RES% } }

Yes Irfanview will do this. GREAT application, but will only convert 1 page at a time so he would still wind up with "MULTIPLE" pages instead of just one Multi page tif file. jd Never used that option since I use png instead but it is present when acquiring from a TWAIN source with Multiple images/Batch mode :

Irfanview does this. Install, run, go to file, then it is easy as a pie. Website : http://www.irfanview.com/

RAR or UHA then.

How do you see themes services are disabled ? Windows's look at first startup, do you use services.msc...

Thanks a lot;

Try not to tick any visual tweak in the TWEAKS section and try again.

iainstott and Echolomax, nice desktops. ^^ What visual theme do you use ?

Indeed, they are modified a bit. Use mencoder.exe for encoding. And check this website for optimized builds which could be nice when encoding. Btw if you're willing to run a quick benchmark, I'd be very interested. If you want to use VirtualDub (for instance), you can use ffdshow. When installing, select VFW interface. Then if VirtualDub, go to encoding or decoding options, and in the decoding tab of ffdshow, check that the format you need is enabled. (need a screen capture, no problem )

Use HFSlip to do so. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=129

MPlayer+MPUI.

My prev comment was not meant to accuse... I don't think it is illegal to hack files on your system, tho they may have an argument that to do so, requires some level of reverse engineering. As long as you don't share M$ components... And, yes, I don't think they would harass msfn folk because we are being "enthusiasts". Still, don't kick a giant. Yes of course, this was not an accusation. IMHO you can do what you want on your computer as long as you did not steal anything. Just like you can do what you want with your wife even if it is something the law forbids; it's your home, you're computer, not MS's. Anyway, EULAs are sometime disturbing : MacOS's one doesn't let you install it on a non-Apple computer. A bit intrusive, isn't it ?

Codecs in MPlayer/mencoder. Do you mean : See http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/design7/codecs.html and http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/ and also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MEncoder

Have you put http://ksphere.free.fr/public/codecslite/F...a%20Plugins.rar in the plugins folder of FF ?

I'm not an addon maker. I just wanted to point out that doing a *slipstreamer* for any bricopack is possible (as far as the icons and themes are concerned) but it's a pain to create and to use.
-
You don't need to select that option. I always remove this compatibility thing and in fact, I'm more able to play wmv files than many people using regulars version of XP. All this because of titou2k which owns the second website. Btw there's a problem with this host (free.fr) : it may corrupts your downloads, especially when their servers are under a high load and you are using a download manager which is able to split your download into several pieces to download faster (you will get a corruption at the beginning of each one of these pieces). So, else download using the rapidshare mirror, else check the integrity of the downloaded file with 7-zip for instance.

At first I thought my new avatar was not the best but I'm now loving it. The illegal thing is to change (in other words : "hack") windows's files. And I'm sure everybody here does. It's likely the slipstreaming process modifies some files. You will never care because the updates come from microsoft, why would microsoft know you did such a thing, you will not bother MS's support which is probably the true reason why they forbid modifying system files.

anyone know how to autohide the taskbar?
Camarade_Tux replied to Ophiel X's topic in Windows Tips 'n' Tweaks
When do you import them ? Try importing them later. -
You can certainly use this under win2k. The only thing that will be missing will be the visual theme and I think I've seen a project on msfn to port visual themes to win2k. It shouldn't be a problem. Moreover, the dock can be used on any computer (95/98 or NT) and there is always WindowBlinds that will do the trick. As for the icons, XPize can't use them. I once made an integrator for use with bricopacks. However, it was not really usable by anyone. Someone on the nLite's addon board asked for a Vista Icon pack integrator. I'll try this weekend and keep you informed. (this one will be much usable than the one for bricopacks though they are nearly the sames)

It provides an XP theme, a dock as in MacOS, a new set of icons, hacked logon, logout, startup, shutdown screen. It also changes some colors in cmd.exe which makes it look much nicer. It's a nice one. Moreover you can decide not to install everything such as 128x128 icons which would make your shell32.dll too fat. But it's not XPize : you cannot integrate it. In fact, you can : I managed to. But it's hard and really long. I did it as proof-of-concept. If you could convince the developper to take a look at the slipstreaming and change the installation mode, it would be much easier in fact.
