  1. I think you can find it here. You'll need StyleXP. NOD32 told me there was several infiltrations and in fact the file I was downloading was a .exe, not .zip. What happened to themexp.org ? I disabled both AMON and IMON and then used UniExtract to find something usable and nothing. In fact, there was instead four different spywares! So I really wonder what happened to this site. I think I'll try VMWare. :/
  2. @bledd, I just read your post dated of 26/09. Is it still what you want ?
  3. Do you slipstream any service pack ? If your CD has no SP and you slipstream one, you may lose activation since SPs change many things and even blacklist some product keys.
  4. Camarade_Tux

    7zip

Do I know this person ?
  5. @TC, if you can't get the CD you want, just tell me : my father has one too.
  6. It will create a subkey (you'll have to provide a name, type *anything*)and when you're done, select the subkey, go to file, unload hive.
  7. which command.exe ?? There's no such file : command.com, cmd.exe but no command.exe. You're getting fooled. For asappsrv.dll, browse to its location, right-click on it, properties, version tab. What do you see ? If there's no version tab, then that's not a microsoft file.
  8. But DVDs also have a limit themselve (2GB on most). @WaveRunningNaked, maybe that there's something in imagex to split your wim file.
  9. Maybe that vlite is intensive or even hungry but an A64 X2 4800+ will always have enough CPU time to deal with keystrokes. I don't know wether vlite is threaded or not but on my Turion64 X2 it doesn't take 100% of the CPU power. Else the antivirus is faulty, else there's a malware.
  10. Be sure to create your .iso file as UDF, not ISO9660.
  11. First click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE before trying to load the hive.
  12. Personnaly, I don't really like VisualBasic. C is fun to play with and you can find some very good papers on the net and books. AutoHotKey or AutoIt are powerful languages, easy to learn and very well documented. Google for them. As far as I'm concerned, I prefer AHK but in fact it is a fork of AutoItv2 (AutoItv3 is not opensource).
  13. registry -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Set AutoAdminLogon to 0 or delete the key. You may also empty DefaultPassword.
  14. It's been a long time I had no occasion to use UniExtract and I must say I'm really impressed : I had no problem, the new interface is cool. The only thing I miss is a tickbox to keep UE opened after extraction so I can expand another file. Thanks again. @Stranger, AspackDie.exe is already in /bin.
  15. -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DhcpDependOnService And afaik nlite may clean this.
  16. Guess what ? No timeout for this boot. And still connecting to the net using WiFi and DHCP server.
  17. Try to run regedit and go to file, load hive.
  18. *ding!* Fight! wooops, wrong image, sorry. Fight!
  19. Guess what ? I'm online and windows says: Indeed, I had a time-out. And there are still tons of NetBT entries in my registry. I'm gonna make a backup and get rid of them. And now a message to everybody who find a dependency : think first. There is no reason for DHCP to depend on NetBios/NetBT. But there is a reason for DHCP to start after NetBios/NetBT is started : some DHCP functionnalities, under windows, can be used in conjunction with netbt, but in now way this is a vital hard-coded thing.
  20. *sigh* http://www.geoshell.com/ *sigh* Search the hfslip forum, I can't find this topic anymore. But anyway, I am 99% sure replacing explorer.exe with another shell will break windows setup. And, have a look at this post.
  21. DHCP can be used to setup NetBT; you can retrieve a NetBT configuration from a DHCP server, but there is no such dependency! You may have problem starting DHCP because of a single registry entry which says DHCP won't start unless NetBT is started too. But that's only a registry entry. Or maybe not. But anyway, if I can't post again in this topic within a few minutes, then DHCP really needs NetBT. Btw, you gave me an idea: write a script that will find all services that are set to automatic or normal but are dependent on services that are disabled.
  22. Fred Vorck, aka fdv, member of msfn, removed IE, not explorer. And I am pretty sure since someone in the HFSLIP forum asked how to replace windows's default shell and he ended up with several problems.
  23. Thanks for this. I think I'm gonna switch to Dr. Web : it flagged AOL Toolbar as a virus. edit: btw, I've noticed NOD32 got really really slow on some files (mp3s, though I was transferring them over a gigabit connection!)
  24. There's already this but afaik it does not work for all languages and contains some bugs. I think your help will be welcomed.
  25. I don't know where the CPU usage comes from 70%. But anyway, you see the speed, you see the CPU usage for each core and you also see that drops in CPU usage correspond to IO operations. PS: I guess the weird display has been caused by foobar's transparency + process explorer. edit: why the hell is my screenie blurry ??
