  1. I too have problems connecting. I'm using Maxthon2 beta2 so sometimes it crashes. When I start it again, I can reopen all the pages I was visiting. If there's more than one msfn page, I'm logged in some (usually 1 in fact) but not on others and a refresh sometimes solves the problem where I'm not logged. Right now, I was setting singapore (a web gallery) so was not active on the board for a quite long time but had forum index opened. When I refreshed it, I was not logged in anymore. Maybe that cookies are not created in the same way and are purged faster now. ?
  2. I don't think he's a kid : he needs a bank account his parents won't see. Try http://www.whitepages.com/ to see if his coordinates are correct. edit : and maybe abuse@ISP, last time I did that, I was surprised to get an answer back (was because of spam and they asked me to forward it instead of just giving the adress but I had deleted it, I thought spam would have generated enough traffic for them to trust me). I would be very annoyed if I had my internet connection or my gmail account deleted.
  3. Look at the bottom of the page : http://hotfix.xable.net/upload/ edit : rhaaa, (too late)²
  4. Could you upload a french file ? I'd like to test too but for such a file, I prefer a localized binary.
  5. I don't know which one is more popular. But don't bother with this : I find it a pity fast noone knows about AHK on this board (and only on this board).
  6. Wow, you're quick. Hopefully I did not wait until tomorrow to start this topic. Anyway, both your desktop are nice. Just two things to Grunth0s : -you have a weird folder on your desktop. ;p -are you running Vista ? Then you must be using a shell32.dll patcher. Any issue with it ?
  7. Thanks a lot for the submission. ^^ How does it compare to CDBurnerXP and DeepBurner ?
  8. Thanks This has already been asked and there is only one answer : we can't force nor want to force posters to give details. One reason is it the annoyance to describe each item : which softs, with which plugins/docklets/widgets/mods/params, which theme, which VS, which icon pack, and so on. But don't hesitate to ask : all people I've seen ask received an answer. Moreover, other people can sometime answer in place of the original desktop poster (after some time, you immediately spot avedesk, litestep, some docks, WindowsBlinds, Tango...)
  9. Congratulations skizo, you're november's winner.
  10. Happy new year everybody! It's time to post your desktop screenshots for 2007. I also wanted to let you know I'm going to collect the screenshots that are posted on my harddrive. Far too many pictures are missing because they have been uploaded to services such as imageshack and deleted after a 30-day 'inactivity' period. In fact, I'll collect both files and links so I can query pictures periodically from image hosting services to prevent their automatic removal. Of course, you're perfectly free to refuse this. Customize, tune, post. B)
  11. Happy new year to MSFN, and happy 100.000th member. ^^
  12. Unfortunately, you can't send so many PMs. And each post will not necessarily get its attachment sent again. We'll probably have to wait for something from IPS.
  13. HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment","TEMP",0x00020000,"%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp" HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment","TMP",0x00020000,"%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp" is normal. In fact, USERPROFILE won't be evaluated during the installation and it will stay like that in the registry. You problem might rather be with spaces : USERPROFILE contains "Documents And Settings". And it already caused me one or two problem : now I rename Documents and Settings to DocsAndSettings (and Program Files to Programs).
  14. As far as I'm concerned, the length of my reply depends on how difficult the information is to find and how the question has been asked. And I've already answered with just a link and a smiley : I know searching is sometimes hard without proper keywords. Everybody seemed OK with this. A lot of msfn members are young and school sometimes just takes a lot of time : you'd like to help as much as possible but don't necessarily have enough time too.Btw, maybe we should have a sort of FAQ/central topics. As I said, I'm 18. And far from being irrespectuous. Just as an example : recently I was in the subway, going back home and an old man entered. I was the only under 24 and the only who moved; before giving my seat, I took a look at the others there and noone was even starting to move. You can't say such things. There are many, many posts at msfn and we don't necessarily know how old people are. And maybe the most important thing : something that appear evident to me often doesn't to someone else and I rarely realize this. :gettinglate:
  15. Use regsvr32 /u. Then delete or rename zipfldr.dll. (don't bother renaming or deleting if you have SFC on)
  16. As far as I'm concerned, I only have ntkrpa.exe and ntoskrnl.exe BUT in device manager I have two entries, my computer is seen as ACPI multiprocessor PC, two cores are shown in task manager and 7-zip is definitely threaded. Could you check C:\WINDOWS\system32\$winnt$.inf ? Does it have any interesting line ? Check your drivers. And if you run autoupdate you probably won't get any bloat back (don't make it automatic, check entries by hand).
  17. i think it won't work because that dialog is need to be clicked OK. Thanks u guys,Happy New Year. My point is that it is annoying to have to click three times in the middle of the installation. But imho it is not disturbing to click 3 times if you can use your computer immediately after. As far as I've understood, you are installing a driver. With this driver, you should keep catalog security files (.CAT) that holds the driver signing. I've never heard of any hack that would let you install non-signed driver without warning (or maybe something with group policies); if you want to get rid of the message, you really have to keep .cat files. And trust me, setting your driver to be the last item in runonce is a very fast way to get rid of this annoyance.
  18. Same here. ^^ ... Ouch, that's when I go back to school.
  19. Do you know what's causing this ? If so, just change the order and put it at the end.
  20. Do NOT delete the other kernel. Who knows what may happen ? If you just add the mp kernel, in the best case : you get dual processoring back, in the worst : nothing. If you delete the other one, in the worst case your computer won't boot.
  21. Welcome to both of you. To answer your question, you can use winrar as a file manager : find your file with it, select it and use the extract button. Or, you maybe have an entry in your context-menu (right-click on the file), find the winrar entry, and in its submenu choose extract. Have a look at this page for how to use winrar. Also, you may have a look at 7-zip : it does the same but is free. Next time, use the appropriate forum for your question (in this case) : you'll probably get an answer much faster.
  22. A post by WolfX2! It's getting rare. ^_^
  23. When logging in, you have "log me as invisible".
  24. The only thing you should have to do is dump it in system32.
