  1. Yup.
  2. Valentine's Day, seems I'm not going to celebrate it this year... Anyway, post your desktops for february guys.
  3. OK, cool, so I just need to swap username and full name for added users? It didn't do this on the administrator account, that worked. Yeah, I've noticed that too. Even on a fresh, unmodified source, sometimes the options to disable SFC and enable IIS are disabled. It seems specifically like the option for turning off Windows SFC seem to enable and disable itself randomly. Every time I make a change to the build, I always have to go through and recheck about 10 items that have unchecked themselves. So,i guess they're not being saved in (or loaded from) the config. Also, on the SFC option. To me, the wording is kind of unclear as to which option (Enable or Disable) actually disables SFC. For example, does choosing 'Enable' Enable SFC, or Enable the Disable SFC option, or vice versa? Anyone know? Gonna rebuild and try users with username, full name and description all set to the same, and see what happens... And I bet they correspond to features introduced with SP2. That's strange. My DHCP was working fine since the first boot. WinXP SP2 nLite 1.3 RC2 What did you do with Netbios?
  4. OK, ok, I'll open february's topic right now.
  5. Congratulations prankst3r, you're the winner.
  6. Just don't start with functionnal languages. (caml/ocaml, scheme, lisp...)
  7. Don't know, computer mystery. Maybe an OEM CD ? And also, nlite only removes NTPRINT.CAT when print support is being removed (this one contains driver signatures). CAT files that are direclty in i386 are generally left untouched.

    Paz Vega.
  9. Thanks a lot. I'll test it asap. ^^ I have to mention that I remove Luna theme using nlite and the ones I integrate are extracted with wihu through 7-zip and not applied. I think this is just inherent to Listview. Also, when you say windows won't enable themes, does it inlcude window borders ? Because with 2.2.0.8, I have removed the .manifest file and still have a themed title bar.
  10. When I answered, I did not have much time and did not pay attention to the "directx" part. You just need not to go through WU to get latest directx. Get it here.
  11. Your idea for a disc image is possible. The corresponding switch for cdimage is -o : http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/15/
  12. waaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz =D
  13. Know that one. I only have experience with XP but afaik this is not specific to it. If I delete some of these files, setup complains right after the first GUI boot. But I found a workaround. Of course, there are some differences since I use nlite for component removal and XP but here is a part of my post-nlite batch script: REM creates an empty SP1.cat @_ > SP1.cat @_ > SP2.cat @_ > STSWEB.CAT @_ > MAPIMIG.CAT @_ > IASNT4.CAT @_ > HPCRDP.CAT @_ > OSCCAB.CAT del STSWEB.CA_ del MAPIMIG.CA_ del IASNT4.CA_ del HPCRDP.CA_ del OSCCAB.CA_ At first I thought setup would never use these files but it does. And since I use fdv's sfc[files].dll I thought that the files were maybe loaded but anyway, windows would never go through them. And it works. Btw, don't try to compress the files. They are empty so compressing them would only make them bigger. And also, cat files removal normally only applies to cat files inside SVCPACK. ; )
  14. I finally got a rating! 2 stars out of 5! Somebody probably didn't like one of my post. As far as I'm concerned, I'd prefer not to have this rating. To me it only serves small wars between some members. But anyway, it's there.
  15. As far as I'm concerned, I use 7zip because -it's free -has high compression ratio -more than acceptable speed : I have a dual-core laptop with 2GB RAM and I 7-Zip uses both The only problem I see is the number of supported formats so I may also use IZArc. Thanks for the news. )
  16. Afaik, Automatic is the only working state : manual does not work correctly. For instance if you start Word and the spooler service is not started, it won't see the printer until you start the service AND restart word.
  17. Excellent.
  18. Hi, I run WIHU at T-12 and at this stage of setup on my Turion64X2 -fully_unsupported_by_windows-, visual themes make the installation lag. On VMWare, the problem is less apparent. The worst case I've seen so far is when installing Dev-Cpp : it shows a list of all processed files and there are tons of then. But as soon as I move its window out of the screen, the installation goes 100 times faster (really!). I've tracked it down to a windows visual tweak called "smooth-scroll lists". It is a very CPU-intensive tweak at T-12 and takes something like 0.3s for each new line added to the list. Imagine how long it takes for 50 elements! Plus it renders really ugly and completely unreadable. I don't know how to disable this tweak at this stage of setup (I know in fact but it's just an overkill). My request is simple could WIHU refuse to be themed or be subject to such a tweak ? I'm asking because I believe it can be very fast to implement and I'd do it myself if I had VisualStudio (ATL). Thanks a lot.
  19. As a simple workaround, you could use a reg file to remove autologon entries once the computer is installed.
  20. First, check this file exists. If it exists, then you may delete it and try again. And you can try with the file I attached. Just give it the .theme extension back. Windows_Classic.txt
  21. Looks good so far. I think I'll edit a certain topic soon. Could you just allow .png files? They're much better for desktop screenshots. Thanks a lot.
  22. ... I guess you understand I meant the opposite.
  23. Register nspcm.dll using "regsvr32 /s nspcm.dll". But this file is not necessarily in the cab file. Check N++'s download page.
  24. Why is there no link on Supervisor ?
  25. Thanks. Be a little patient : a few friends of mine are doing some beta test ATM and should tell me the results soon. Then I can go on and make a public beta.
