  1. mil gracias! me has salvado!! estaba buscando la manera de copiar un acceso directo a Herramientas de Diseño espero a que me indiques el archivo. gracias de nuevo. for the non-spanish speaking persons: killogy kindly replied with the answer i was looking for.
  2. thanks allen2, i looked almost all the tables but i couldnt find any reference to what i wisj to acomplish. still looking.....thanks.
  3. to make MST files use Wise InstallTailor. With it, you run your msi installer, choose options, install location and at the end, it makes a mst file that you must use this way: setup.msi TRANSFORMS=setup.mst /qb /norestart to get it, search google, i dont remember where i found it. its free. to modify installer for deleting/adding custom actions or other things you must use something like Installer Design Studio, Wise Package or InstallShield...
  4. this isnt what i meant. i asked for a character code reference (or something called like that) because i dont know that type of character code is used in cmd files. as i said, for example: in my runonceex file i have to use the character £ in %userprofile%Men£ Inicio\Programas (userprofile\Start Menu\Programas). i came to this thanks to someone that pointed it to me. im looking for a character reference table or something that helps me find what character i need to write in order to get, for example the letter ñ in my runonceex. im mexican so i use spanish windows cd. i have googled for it but i cant find what im looking for. thanks for any help.
  5. as far as i read, is just custom installing. not stripping. but hey, is great to install custom apps form a bloated package like nero. i use nero lite released by other member but im going to give this a try later today. thanks.
  6. i use just a few sfx archives but is good to know that you can run multiple commands in one sfx archive. i dont need that, but will come handy from time to time. thanks for the tip.

there is a release called Windows Media Lite that does exactly what you need. I havent test it but you can find it in free-codecs.com is something like Quicktime and Real Alternative.
  8. use cmdow (a progra to hide the console window) search for it, i can remember where i get it. read the unattender guide, it should be there.
  9. Man, go say something else! lol i second that. but again, i really dont get it clear what he mean the first time.
  10. i dont know if you can run it from a read-only media (such as cd-rom). i run it from my hdd and it install fine.
  11. i always run commands with "start /wait" just to be sure everything get done without going any further with other things in the files. if you mean that you can make a BIG sfx archive with many sfx archives inside as well and every sfx with its own commands you can do that. i dont know why you want to do that but if you NEED to, then make sure you get all working because this way finding a problem or a spelling error in the commands will be very hard.
  12. where can i find a reference table so i can know where character i have to type in order to get a localized character in my language? example: if i need to type in a cmd file the character ´ (accent) i use £ but i cant find a table to see other characters like "ñ" or others. alosi, if possible i want to know what is this called? Character Coding? Unicode? ANSI? i really dont know. thanks for any help.
  13. will try it on a fresh install of windows. one question? the progress windows in the screenshots seem to be fixed size, can it be resized? i ask this because i use sometimes long names for stuff... thank. keep up the good work.
  14. i think i dont get exactly what you mean by folder "win". I use for repackagin Scriptlogic Installer Design Studio. i have made about 5 repacks and all worked fine. if you mean by "win" the folder windows is installed to then any repackager can handle it because is a system variable and is not static. Example if you choose to install windows under C:\MyWindows any msi setup that points to "windows" folder will install files to C:\MyWindows instead of C:\Windows or C:\Win if this isnt what you expect, then be more specific.
  15. i've installed acrobat following all the advices posted here and everything works without an error. But now i have one problem as Mavericks posted: I made an admin install point, then i slipstreamed the 705, 707 and 708 updates. Acrobat installs fine but the version is still 7.0.5 even when slipstraming the 707 and 708 msp files they finished without an error or any sign that the patching of file didnt work. I tried something else. Installed from my cd dump silently, then silently applied the updates and worked fine but acrobat stills prompt me to re-apply/download the updates. Even with the version in about box saying 7.0.8. What am i doing wrong here? i cant figure it out yet. any advice? thanks.
  16. i will apply on both local_machine and current_user hives to see if it registers at last. BTW, what hyphen are you talking about, zekoi? the one that separates the key in five places? if so, i always write like this but without luck. i hope that applying it on local:machine makes it work finally.
  17. has anyone tried the new 3.0.3 build to see if it doesnt need the modifications on the installer to prevent the autoreboot thing? i will try it tomorrow and will post if it works or if it needs another mst file...
  18. for everest i do an sfx archive and import registry entries so i can customize a little more when i make an msi installer for it. but the switches posted by mazin work well.
  19. im not being rude but the solution is posted here. why dont you try to make your own msi installer, it is as easy as 1-2-3 with Caphyon Advanced Installer.
  20. taskilling the setup didnt worked? maybe you can use autoit (wich i dont know how to use ) or try to make a repack using Install Designer Studio or Installshield or Wise Package... the last solution i can give is to use DVD Shrink wich i found very useful and has all the features of CloneDVD except of CloneDVD Mobile.
  21. i just took the msi file in temp folder and then use /qn /norestart for the settings i imported the registry keys regarding updates and settings. i havent test the settings yet so i dont know if the autostart entry will be created regardless of the settings that i applied.
  22. for codecs, i install: Quicktime alternative Real alternative Xvid (Kopepi's) FFDShow (registry configured to open mp4, flv, divx;3 etc) AC3 Filter for my 5.1 surround card. Player: Media Player Classic and MPUI for the ones that MPC doesnt handle very well like divx;3 thats all you need. i never install codec packs because they install many splitter and reader that are useless unless you use some rare (or very unpopular) formats.
  23. sanjay, why dont you use an sfx archive with the instructions i posted? also you can make your own MSI setup taking all the files in program folder and importing the registry keys. thats all you need to do to make an msi. off course you need also a program to make setups. download caphyon advanced installer trial and make it. www.caphyon.com
  24. glad to know that the problem is solved in the new release. thanks nucleus.
  25. i believe that version 1.72 has some problem in the setup routine. i always installed previous versions without any problems. there is a newer version, 1.73 but i havent tested it yet. i hope the dll problem is resolved now.
