i didnt know that we can extract ths nis script from installer using 7-zip. im going to install 7-zip to try some things now with nis scripts now thanks for the tip. BTW, i guess you can download any nis script editor and modify the file, then you can recompile it. not sure what tools, but you can try some at nis website...thats what im going to do.

it seems that the .iss method is not working. my uadvd didnt have any problems but the update apparently didnt installed using this method. anyone with other suggestions? thaks.

for acdsee i used to install 2.44 years ago, but now i use the last pro version. i made a post for it if you're interested. search for it. but for version 3.0 you can try repackaging the files that it install to see if it works. for repackaging there are a few posts that describe what to do.

as far as this post is concerned, both german and english version are working this way. you should try it on french, i think there will be no problem... just follow the steps we posted here.

When I use my modified installer and silently install it with the reg file in the same directory, it automatically recognizes it and registers KIS. Have you got an old version installed before this one? if so, thats why the licnse is auto applied. if not, well, the reg tweak wont be needed anymore I used 1chaoticadult mst file for KIS on my toshiba dual core laptop and it only had to autoreboot once after i manually rebooted it. KIS didnt ask me to reboot again.

thanks, i already tried it and it worked. it auto reboots when you restart your computer and KIS is loading the first time. can you please tell me exactly what you modified so i can learn for future builds? then only thing i saw at first glance is a line that says buildType=0:1:0:0 and something from InstallExecute but im not sure. NOTE: i noticed that the installer creates a log file so any of you installing from cd may want to run it hdd or add a switch to create log file somewhere else.

have you read this link? you have to run setup.exe -r and the program will install the update. a file named setup.iss will be created in your windows folder, copy it before closing the setup. to use it, just copy it to your update setup folder. now you just have to call the setup with some switches. setup.exe -s -f2"%systemdrive%\update.log" the text in quotes is a destination path to create a log file, since it can be created automatically in your update folder if you un this from a cd/dvd.

what did you modify in the installer? so i can try it on KIS. also, does it autoreboot at first run? thanks.

i already made a post there today... im thinking of deleting some custom actions in the msi tables to see if does not reboots... BTW, im installing KIS and has the same problem as KAV. will post later if my deletions worked.

just use setup.msi /a to make an admin install then patch it using the cumulative update to 7.0.7 than use a program to make autorun (you can search form some in download.com). the idea will be to launch the msi when the cd is inserted. just a hint.

maybe a command line player like mplayer can do that. google it because i cant remember the url right now.

@ironside i made a repack by monitoring what changed after the update was installed and make an msi setup that works great but i dont know if i will be able to install updates using my repacked setup.

as far as i know the only way to slipstream them is making an admin install point then patching it. but you will loose cd autorun functionality unless you made a simple autorun for it.

I just download it but i dont know how to install it silently. I repack it and worked well but i dont know if i can install future updates with this method. anyone knows other method? thanks. BTW, you can get the update here EDIT: thanks to jaws75 for the reminder. extract it and run setup.exe -r than copy setup.iss in windows folder to you update folder to use it in runonceex just use this syntax setup.exe -s -f2"path\logfile.log" thats it. the path is required if you run it from a read only media such as cd/dvd

ok, lets see: 1) You have to write your serial number into Abcpy.ini along with the one in the MST file (wich are the same code). if you dont do this, the setup will return an error. 2) In order to get it activated you have to import the registry settings and the .dat file 3) The .dat file can be in another SFX archive and must be extracted to the original location, not anywhere else.

the /qn /norestart switches are working as usual with the msi file inside the exe. the only thing that i got is the setup restarted my compu regardless of the /norestart switch so i will try it now with Reboot=ReallySupress property in the command-line...will post later is it works. EDIT: Reboot=ReallySupres property isnt working, the setup reboots the computer no matter what anyone has a solution? thanks...

after reading multiple topics and trying on my own i figured out how to get it right this time. as always, instructions only so you can make an SFX if you want. 1)Open Abcpy.ini and insert your serial number like this and save it [OEM Install] ISX_SERIALNUMBER=XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX 2)Use InstallShield Tuner for Acrobat (get it at adobe.com) to make your mst file. just select the .ITW file in acrobat folder, select the msi file, and configure the way you want it. 3)Download Update 7.0.7 cumulative to update from 7.0.x to latest 7.0.7. Then place it wherever you want and callit with this switches /s /rs (if you use only /s you will get it silent but will be promted to restart). Now you have to install it normally in order to activate it and configure the program in the the way you want. 4)Export the following from registry to save your configuration: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe 5)Your license file is located in Allusersprofile\Application Data\Adobe Systems\Product licenses. Copy the .dat file. if you have more than one adobe product then then check the file access time and the last one will be the acrobat activation file. That is all what you need. for installing just use AcroPro.msi /TRANSFORMS=AcroPro.mst /qn /norestart run the update707.exe and then copy the .dat file you backed up earlier and import the registry settings. You will get it Activated, Customized and Silently installed and updated. Hope this helps as there are many topics on this one.

just extract it with winrar and you will get an msi file. use standard swithes like /qb or /qn along with /norestart. i already got it but havent check it to see if there are any dialogs showing up in the silent installation. will try it later myself. also search for another post to see what registry keys are needed in order to setup to auto import the registration key for your installation.

just extract the msi installer inside the original exe with winrar and then just use the msi setup with this switch: /qn /norestart

just download it from microsoft and use this swithes with the exe you downloaded: /Q /O /Z this is the way i install it.

i must say that the new interface for the library really is a great upgrade. seems like i will put it on my UA DVD after all... i installed it with the 4 exe files and the switches. the only one i didnt install was setup_wm.exe and everything worked great.
