It seems that you are running XP and you disabled the old messenger that came with XP before installing the new versions. Some user reported that in this thread, or was it by mail? I'm not sure, but you can look. Anyway, if i remember correctly you can disable the old messenger, but you need to install the new versions first in order to avoid that question about messenger.msi everytime you open it. The tool from benner does not do anything special in this regard, so if you use it you will face the same problem. Please report back if you solved this.

I always make a switchless installer. Anyone can get it at the link in my signature. The installers is for the main application, without plugins and nothing at startup.

I don't have an iPod Touch to test, but i don't remember to read other users having problems with the Touchs. However, you can always install Mobile Device Support if you can't see it normally. Try in other computer without Mobile Device Support but make sure to uninstall iTunes and reboot before installing mine.

You can use switches to install it silently. I don't remember them, but i think you can grab the MSI installers from Program Data/Kaspersky and use /qb /norestart or /qn /norestart. Also, make a search, there a few topics that discuss this.

If you have plenty of RAM (say 2 or more GB) superfetch will work very well. I have made tests with only 1gb and the application launch times are not noticeable. But with 2 or more GB the speed change is considerable enough to notice it.

If you have Vista installation on that same laptop, try a program like Boozet Double Driver and backup the Card Reader drivers. Then use them on Windows 7. For that main hdd problem, it seems weird that the setup won't recognize it.

I've always did that and it has been working, but i just found out that i have 3 sidebar.exe processes. If i don't use the shared gadgets location (leaving default gadgets and sidebar untouched) windows sidebar runs normally with just one process. Anyone has experienced this?

I just tried in three unattended installations and effectively, the uninstall entry is missing. I don't know why is this happening, though. I don't find this much important, but it is nice to solve all wrinkles.

The .cache folder for the final installer is located in Common Files\Windows Live not Program Files\Windows Live I also updated my switchless installers. The requisites includes the new Windows Live Call, which is not in Beta anymore. The WLM9 installers only have changed to reflect a new text string when extracting the files.

Hi It all depends on the application you are trying to repackage. Basically, all you need to do is to emulate the original installer's actions. To find which registry entries are created/deleted/changed when installing a program, you can use Regshot. To find what a process is doing, use Sysinternals Process Monitor. And finally, use your common sense as you will need to register some dll file, or ax files, etc. It is easier to make an installer knowing all this beforehand. Personally, i stopped trying to repackage DivX since i got an AutoIt script that does install it silently without many components. Really a time saver. Good luck!

All you need to do is install it manually, then configure it the way you want , grab the folder in program files and the one in Application Data (or was it Local Application Data?, I'm not at home right now). Now, for making the installer you can choose whatever setup you want (MSI, Inno, NSIS, etc). Nota that you can't edit the original installer, that's why i make a totally new one. There are registry entries you can use in you installer to point to the installation path and some variables. Look for some ID o SID in the registry keys of Vuze/Azureus. Don't use them to avoid conflicts when installing it on different PC's. Hope this helps you out.

You will need to find which files are needed for different languages. By making a different "requisites" installer, one can install it regardless of the language of WLM.

The full installer of Wave 3 Final didn't update my Windows Live Call, so i suppose it is still in Beta. However, as soon as i reformat my laptop i will make a clean install of that installer to see if there is any change to Windows Live Call when installing from scratch.

I made tests and you will need more components. If some components are missing, you will get some login errors, such as the one another user posted earlier in this thread. Are you using the full installer in your language? or the web setup? If so, use the full installer instead. Thanks for the info on removing the old messenger.
