Just becasue Win98 informs you that it registers over 512mbs of ram it does not mean that it can actully PAGE it. Belive me Win98 tops out at 512 |Drew| -
If you flash a Mobo with the wrong bios, theres no turning back... If you have a removable bios chip you can have it reflashed with the correct bios, some manufacutres do this for a charge, some dont do it at all. There are also some 3rd party companys that do this as well. You could try to send the board in for service and have it replaced, if it is still under its warenty. Other then those options your kinda out of luck |Drew|

Unless your running a server or a small home biz that demands consistand bandwidth, there would eb no point to getting a T1. Cox is very consistand, so unless you demand concurant up and downspeeds or 1.5 then it would be a waste of money. |Drew|

Which hard drive should I order?
Drewdatrip replied to 1heavyd's topic in Hard Drive and Removable Media
Pretty much if you DONT know what SATA is then you most likley just need ATA. You definatly dont have SATA if your computer is over about 7months old. I would stick away from maxtor, but that is just me. Reccomends are Western Digital and segate |Drew| -
You could program it on ur phone like auto dial. then wire it to a big button and run the wires thru your wall on a metal or wood plate. |Drew|

You have a few options. If you want to install with one licence on all the machines you own you NEED a site licence, you can buy the rights to as many machines as you own and use the nessary code that is provided for the bisness. If you do not already have this then this is probley not a great idea considering it would cost a great deal of cash, and from reading your posts your trying to avoid doing that. Another and fully legit way of doing it would to to make a windows unattended cd using one particular Code from one of the many machines. Then incorperate a windows sysprep reseal into the OS and after you install all nessary apps and drivers, you can run the sysprep tool and reboot. Upon next start up it will prompt the user for the unique code attached to the workstation or desktop. this will then delete the previos code you used in the install and replace it with the unique one entered. |Drew|

I like how they assume that casue we have a MS related Forum that we all love Windows and hate linux. I dont think we have one debate stating that Windows is the best and linux sux. If anything this forum was created to educate people about the ins and outs of MS related problems and how to fix and solve these issues. We have created tools to make windows more versitile and user orinted...maybe if they looked into stuff like nlite and our reduction tools they would understand what this site is about.... I for one support both MS products and open sorce things such as Linux. I run both and use many applications on sorceforge... Anywho i know i for one wont be joining their forum and trolling....i dont wish to sink to that lvl. If people wish to use one thing over another let it be up to them |Drew|

Plz Reword that doesnt make much sence. However is abit of info. The most important factor in a Vid card is its GPU speed, the amount of Piplines, The bit of the pipelines, the Ram quantity and its Ramdac. The Gpu is built ona a particualr Arichtecture and has a particular speed just like a CPU. In most cases the higher the better. However in some cases this is not always true, do to modifications in the internal workings that make it more efficent at lower speeds. The amount of pipe Lines is the amount of data that can pass between the gpu, ram and your computer. In this case the more the better..and thats pretty much always the truth. Some of the best cards out currently have 12-16 pipelines. The Pipe Lines also have bit ratings, and as i have explained, the higher the bit rating the more data can pass thru at a time. This is due to a increase of instructions per cycle, the higher the bit the more instructions per cycle. IE more bit more speed. The finally the Ram Quantity doesnt always mean quantity. However more is generally better. THe RamDAC or speed of the ram is important, it dictacts how fast textures and instructions can be temporaly stored and buffered, which leeds to faster Frame rate and all around better performance. Ummm ya i think that about covers it all /End of Rant |Drew|

It Means the card has a quantity of 256mbs of ram. And the memory pipline or bus between the the video ram and the GPU is 128bit. Generally the fater the bus the faster the card. |Drew|

Actully Durex, i looked into it, used the program and then made the recomendation. Its simple and free...and those are the critria you requested. Where they not? Its got a nag box and its kinda roundabout, but it workes very well. You install the pdf printer driver and the app. Then you open the word doc, website etc, hit print, then select the PDF printer. Then it will ask you were to save it. From there you can use thier pdf editor and mod it to your liking. So all in all i think its a preTty good find. And next time think b4 you make a hasty judgment, you might wanna lookin what i sugest or question rather then just assuming its wrong |Drew|

I like the LiteOn Model: 1633S06C 16x Double Layer The Device is so similar to the latest Sony drive you can reflash the LiteOn with its bios, and get the a speed increase on the Double layer side of the burning I have sold several hundred of these Drives and had very few problems. They are very versitile when it comes to media. From what i can tell they really liek the Riteck or Ridata, which works out cause they are cheep and very good media. |Drew|
