  1. Mine starts on the 8th . Must suck to be Ripken...the 9th is a Sunday.
  2. Yeah, you guys caught me . Anyway, no new progress until next week. Since I'll have an entire week to myself to work on it, expect much more progress then.
  3. There must be something wrong with my ears...but I don't notice anything different! Is it because my audio files are at 128K bits/second? I've tweaked the settings in the X-Fi Audio Console, but it either distorts it in ways I don't like or keeps it the same as my old integrated sound from three years ago. Maybe I shouldn't be trying it on my old computer?
  4. Too bad there's really no use of a PPU beyond gaming...With a GPU, at least you can also 3D-model.
  5. Sorry guys, but I've been so overwhelmed lately that I don't think I can continue on with this project anymore...Sorry to disappoint .
  6. @Ripken204 When I feel like it . Lol I mean when I'm not being bombarded with huge projects worth 10% of my grade . I'll have a week of break in a week from now, so hold on tight.
  7. Original Xbox® game support enables your Xbox 360™ video game console to play an array of games from your original Xbox video game console. A list of games that are currently backward compatible is available here and we will continue to add support for additional games over time. 8. Well the 7900GT is out and I just returned my 7800GT to get the new card . Trying to find a sub-$300 card now.
  9. Try downloading the updated drivers from the X-Fi website.
  10. @Darkfire010 Because of me .
  11. @LLXX Windows can't boot without a registry . @Gdogg GE being faster and overall better .
  12. I thought it was spelled "tweak". Anyway, the UserPreferencesMask holds a variety of settings. Use Google to find out what each one is.
  13. Windows XP Embedded .
  14. There are superhidden files and folders like $MFT. Dunno how to make them though...there's always the rootkit method .
  15. I agree with Bezalel, but I doubt most people know how to use XPE, or even know what PXE is (more than just the X and P switched around).
  16. I thought you weren't going to have a Beta 3. Weren't you going to use the Beta 2.5 release instead?
  17. Well it's quite easy to get a minimal install down to 20MB if all you're looking for is to logon. If you're trying to connect to a remote network share...that's another story .
  18. Something much closer than nLite to this goal is Windows XP Embedded . Surprised most people haven't heard of it, since it's better than nLite at nearly everything (including deployment time) except user friendliness. After the install of the tools and database, I can get a functional build to install in five minutes. It also offers more customization, as it's XP Pro with everything componentized. For example, if you choose to remove certain parts of DirectX, instead of removing all of DirectX, you can remove DirectSound or DirectInput only.
  19. For the blue one, try shifting the hue of the messenger guy to blue.
  20. Why don't you just buy a new computer? Most of the hardware is ancient enough that it might cost you more to buy some antique piece of hardware than a more modern component.
  21. Check out this blog!
  22. Nice, but I don't like the ads. Also the button images should be antialiased.

  24. I believe the folder is named System32 for compatibility reasons. If they changed it to System64, then they'd have to replace all instances of the string System32 in the Windows source code with System64. So partly, it's because of the role System32 plays in the NT family OS's that forced Microsoft to keep the name.
  25. You could always use XPLite, although it's not that good... Or you could manually remove all the unneeded files and registry keys .
