Just read it's best to game on Vista with 4GB of RAM...That's a little too much for my taste . I think I'll stay with XP.

I like the old UI better. Hope they have an option to use the Classic UI.

So when is Beta 2.5 going to be released? And can you make a list of benefits by using MWX on the first post?

@Gdogg I have no idea what you're saying. I have a vague idea that you're asking for a beta test, which is not going to happen . Contrary to the Viagra ads, size does not matter, at least to a point. What's the use of a 37MB Windows directory as compared to a 370MB folder size? It might make a slight difference, but it's not worth Reshacking the crap out of the files and then compressing it with UPX. And please clarify this sentence: "microwinX supports xpe, and thus xpge".

@3-R4Z0R Yes, I'm preparing a private beta that will fall into more hands than just Ripken's . School's been a major source of stress lately, and the little time I do have is spent relaxing...so don't expect the beta anytime soon.

I thought he was talking about a patch for raw sockets, and used the connection patch as an example . As far as I know, raw sockets are insecure and that's why it's been patched. You can always revert to SP1.

I think it's more likely that he posts a lot in the Hardware forums .

You can achieve a 9 second boot time without IRAM.

Then obviously the driver isn't installed correctly. Don't expect any audio until that's corrected.

A while ago, I decided to build my own computer. For various reasons, which I can't even explain myself, it took me a better part of three months to assemble the computer. But today, all that hard work paid off . I have to say that the 250+FPS average in UT2004 high-quality really blew me away. Only thing I regret is that I still have a 7800GT (a refurbished one too ). Hopefully Customer Service will agree with me that replacement products shouldn't be refurbished and gimme my money back (if the manager agrees). But back to the hardware experience...I've heard people claim the Raptors are loud. In my opinion, they're not much louder than a silent DVD-ROM (which I mistaken the noise to be at first) and are usually drowned out by my 45dB fans. It's best to use them in RAID0, or the performance boost isn't that noticeable with normal usage. They do run hot (around 80 degrees Fahrenheit is my best guess). Overclocking is where I was most surprised. I apparently had a good batch of OCZ memory, because my 2GB Platinum 2-3-2-5 overclocked to DDR500 speed without changing the stock timings. I haven't had a chance to overclock my video card, since I'm still using the stock heatsink.

@Gdogg Interesting...XPE is supported? Can you explain that? I was under the impression that MWX uses nLite, and nLite doesn't support XPE.

Maybe it's just a matter of opinion, but I don't like having to empty out my Sent items every time I send a PM.

Let's quit bothering Ripken with game requests. Most games will work...and if we keep requesting him to try out every game out there, then this topic will be flooded with useless info. A better alternative is to ask what doesn't work and why.

Well...you see...Ripken and me here are both Nvidia fans . Until I get a beta tester with an ATI card (and not a 9200 either), ATI cards will only be "potentially" supported, meaning it's possible, but we still have to implement it. So if you have an ATI card, or you're just interested in testing, IM me on AIM (check profile).
