  1. I have had a similar problem, the system would just restart out of the blue, this was due to a setting in my bios that caused the system to do so. But this setting was only supposed to come into effect when the system ran hot, but it did it even when it was cool, changing this setting quickly stopped the restarts. Sunil
  2. Jay_Stealth you could have just used the chkdsk command with the /f parameter to fix the prob, it worked for me. chkdsk /f Sunil

I think that you problems all started with the nero incd program, you should truly try and figure out what chages it had made to your system so as to prevent further conflicts Sunil

  12. Hey, did that solution work.. Sunil
  13. Yea using it for five days, in a dual boot environment, works good, no noticeable improvements. Upgraded from sp3.
  14. Just close it, doen't that work.. Sunil
  15. Thanks for bringing this point up, Sunil. I feel like a git not having thought of this when I knew the new account was created and sitting there which explains it all. Being the [overly] cautious person that I am, rather than going to the extreme of deleting the account I disabled it via Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Computer Management | Computer Management (Local) | Local Users and Groups | Users | ASPNET user account | right-click and go down to Properties | General tab | check the "Account is Disabled" box | Apply. Voila! PS: Yeah, yeah, just deleting the account is much quicker but I wanted safer. Thanks for the work around.. Sunil
  16. Delete it, no use.. Sunil

  21. Have you checked to see if there is a problem with the cd itself, because i have a version but the boot sector on the cd is damaged, so i think that this would definitly cause a problem, check it and get back to me, i think i may be able to help if the disk is damaged.... Sunil

  23. Hey Guys, the .Net installation creates a new user account thereby showing you the logon screen under windows xp. I have had the same problem, remedy, remove the account created and it will enable you to logon as per normal without the use of the logon prompt. The removal of the account has no effect on system performance as far as I can tell. Sunil
  24. Geckotek, I think the reason that your files seem to be the same ones that you are trying to overwrite is because windows file protection is active, this will replace the files you have overwritten with the originals. I have no thoughts on how you may overcome this as yet, but will do some research.... Sunil
  25. Hey GeckoTec, you should use xcopy instead of the copy function, the copy function limits you alot, where as the xcopy function gives you more options to do your coping. There is a tool which helps to simplify this, you can save the text it out puts for you and incorporate it into your bat files. WinXcopy Sunil
