It could be a PAL/NTSC problem, like you are playing a PAL dvd on an NTSC-set decoder, or vice versa.

I agree. I have a system in which I went from 266 to 333 without changing anything else (and my mobo supports 333). In games, I gained nominal frames-per-second increases (somewhere around 3-6 percent better). In 3dMark 2001, my score went up by 5.8 percent. If you're going to cough up that much money, it might be a wiser investment to upgrade your processor to get a larger performance increase.

I recommend finding out the costs of both, realizing that real-world, everyday user performance between an AthlonXP 2800+ and a P4 2.8 GHz aren't exactly phenomenal. If you like overclocking, the Barton-core Athlons are very overclockable, and so are the newer P4s. If money is not an issue with you, and you want the absolute fastest processor available, or if you're one of those who will pay, for example, $200 more for a 12% gain in performance, buy the fastest Pentium you can find. Otherwise, I recommend Athlons.

It comes from the Greek, "homo", meaning "the same" and "phobos," meaning fear. "Homophobe" roughly means "Fear of things that are the same." Well, heck, nobody gives Arabs trouble about hating Jews to the point that they vow the extermination of every Jewish man, woman, and child, so why give Mike Savage trouble about disliking homosexuals or even (GASP!!!) calling them a name that hurts their feelings. In the US, gays are free to be gay, Michael Savage is free to say what he likes about anyone, and his radio station is free to fire him. That's the beauty of our free country. Another station will pick him up in a month anyway, due to phenomenal listener growth. Not to mention that even this bad publicity will only increase his ratings. Look what it did for Madonna in the 80s... BTW "Sodomite" comes from the city of Sodom in the Biblical book of Genesis, a town full of hookers and yes, gays. They pounded on the door of a man named Lot and demanded to have sex with his male guests.

I'm having difficulty finding software that will take snapshots of AVIs that I have. WinDVD Platinum claims it can take snapshots, but will not do it for AVI files. Do you know of any program that will do this? Hitting PrtScrn doesn't work. It just makes a black area when I try to paste it in PaintShop pro. Also, programs like SnagIt don't do any better.

AEFDISK is far more functional than FDISK. You might want to try that instead. Also, if you want to know what you can do with most DOS programs, just write something like "AEFDISK /?".
