Sms/email When A Server Goes Down?
angadsingh007 replied to decoy5657's topic in Networks and the Internet
Alchemy Eye is the perfect solution to your problem. SiteKick//WebCEO is for monitoring web-servers, not network application/file servers. They use a tracking code which u have to insert in the "web-page" of ur website. For application/print/file/other local servers or computer on ur network accessing the net via gateway u need alchemy eye to be installed on the gateway Alchemy Eye 6.6 This network management tool continuously monitors server availability. When network errors occur, Alchemy Eye can alert the network administrator by e-mail, cell phone or pager BEFORE disaster strikes. If a server does go down, Alchemy Eye automatically notifies the network administrator and writes a detailed log file. -
I got it ! .. Ill think before posting stupid question next time LOL... fun quoting ur own post

Whats the best Defragmentation Software
angadsingh007 replied to oOTNTOo's topic in Software Hangout
Thumbs Up! for Diskeeper 8 Professional.. -Seemless integration into MMC -SET IT AND FORGET IT ( this even sounds so gr8!) -far more effecient defrag algo than M$ -
Much of Firefox's success rides on it simply not being IE! Firefox fans like me have praised the new browser's automatic pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing features, extensions, themes, javascript console (gr8 for coders like me 2), RSS Live bookmarks !! But security is one of the big points. Viruses and spyware are often aimed at IE because of its near-total market dominance. However, Firefox's popularity may eventually attract the attention of malicious code writers trying to exploit security holes. Anyway firefox is taking over ! (5% share now) Beware M$ !

angadsingh007 replied to bryanh's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
U shud really think of the following : 1) Theme support 2) Background music (got this working in WPI too though) 3) Configurable through GUI 4) use XML if possible -
This has gotta be in the $OEM$ folder... bcoz, right, there are no references to it in TXTSETUP.SIF, or DOSNET.INF So, proved that setup does'nt need it at all.. Search for it in ur cmdlines.txt, winnt.sif, or other batch u use in $OEM$... And also tell us when this error is appearing just for a reference, the setup timeline: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=39904&hl=
-
Whatever ur doing is all very nice (not tricky at all) But, be sure to create new user accounts only after applying tweaks on the DEFAULT user (whenever - at t-12 or at first logon as Admin user) And btw, if u are not creating uA cd's and using original windows setup cd's where do u have ur $OEM$ folder for installing "ALOTS" of software ?..lol

Refuses To Copy Files
angadsingh007 replied to bauzer71487's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
1) Name the file winnt.sif (that is required in the i386 folder.) 2) [Unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=Yes TargetPath=\WINDOWS --- first time Filesystem=* UnattendedSwitch="yes" WaitForReboot="No" TargetPath=\WINDOWS --- second time WaitForReboot="No" DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore Remove double instances of the same variables 3) Make sure u boot from CD, if u have all above options set (not HD install ) 4) http://unattended.msfn.org 5) SEARCH FORUMS! -
When do u create the user and how ? Try creating a new user from User Accounts in Control Panel. Picture won't display if u created users at t-12, i suppose.
-
The user in the context of the setup is the DEFAULT user (at t-12, when parsing through cmdlines.txt) So, firstly, it doesn't matter which way u appy using HKEY_CURRENT_USER or HKEY_USER\.DEFAULT\ bcoz both are the same for the setup at t-12.. Secondly, u have to apply the tweaks at t-12, that too before the ceration of any user account. Bcoz, the settings from the DEFAULT user get copied to any new user created, so it is best the apply the tweaks at t-12, unless u plan to create users after GUIRUNONCE, which is very awck. Hope this helps
