  1. Where do I have to create them? In forward lookupzones or reverse?
  2. I am currently using Windows 8.1 with IIS 8.5 for testing. I also still have Server 2008 with Sp2.
  3. I can only access WU with the IP address and not with windowsupdate.microsoft.com like you.
  4. I have saved all WU web pages under C:\inetpub\wwwroot.
  5. I can't open the v3 page because it redirects to fe2.
  6. A page is displayed, but not the right one.
  7. It doesn't work for me yet either. It still stops in the same place.
  8. Hello all, I have a problem with IIS 7.0. I wanted to host Windows Update v4, which also worked, meaning the website is reachable. Unfortunately, certain pages cannot be called up, e.g. splash.asp?page=3&auenabled=true&, although the file is available in the directory. The Windows Update start page is displayed. Can anyone help me?
  9. There is another method for Vista. Have a look at Mdl. Restore Windows Update for Vista
  10. That's right. I don't understand why the file cannot be found even though it is in the folder. I read on the internet that there was something wrong with a module. https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/5e6076c0-1e38-4844-b30a-ea89d4992261/webhosting-error-0x80070002-iis-80-error-in-opening-links-on-home-page?forum=iisclassicasp
  11. Look at the picture at "angeforderte URL" there you can see that IIS converts the % into ? and into &.
  12. I found out that IIS does not find the file splash=3, although it is present in the folder. A bit strange. This could cause it to get stuck.
  13. You really think so? Because when you open the page in wayback machine, it gets stuck in the same place.
  14. Unfortunately I can't create a zip file because the filenames are too long.
  15. I have tested v13 and older versions. Unfortunately, they all hang after a short time. As I said, minibrowser is my favourite so far.
  16. My screen looks exactly like this. It asks me for the ActiveX control and then it gets stuck. Can you tell us how you managed to access the page via http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com and how to open the page from another PC?
  17. Thank you very much! Btw: I finally managed to host WU v4 in IIS7.
  18. That is correct. But if you only enter http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com, then you are redirected to v6. PS: I would like to try something. Does anyone have the shared folder from v6? Wayback machine downloader does not download it.
  19. I would suggest that we deal with v4 first, otherwise it will get very confusing again. Starting and Shut down means that I have accessed or closed the page. I had that problem too. I deleted a certain entry in redirect.js and now I am no longer redirected. Interesting. I think M$ did not delete v4, but set up a forwarding to v6 in the IIS. Exactly. This file fails to download. Strangely, the error only appears 1 time for me. PS: A subfolder is missing in the wwwroot directory that contains the file iudent.cab , which can be accessed by the website. This file is currently missing. Maybe that is the problem why it hangs there. A similar message appears in v6. As soon as it appears, a file called wuident.cab is also downloaded.
  20. It works, but you don't get search results because WU has to work first.
  21. @LonghornXP Yes I know, because I opened the file directly from the directory. I have installed Xp rtm and hosted the site there. Unfortunately it still stops at this point. There was also a new windows update log created. Also, the page works better in IE6.
  22. Yes, I have all the pages. We could try to access the page from a Windows 2000 system. It is possible that the latest update agent is to blame for it not working. PS: The old update catalog is also still available:
