  1. You're welcome, as for Vista, the guy in the topic you linked, wrote it worked with the early i3 series. Pentium you mentioned is a newer chip.
  2. XP will work with DESKTOP Haswell CPU/GPU. but not Haswell Refresh *like G3470 or the such.
  3. It "seems" wrong. Last year, I had found a browser for Vista users, shared it here, which you aren't, so why posting? You are on Win10 as far as I can recollect, so, obviously it wasn't intended for you! And it was good for its time, not anymore. But probably the developer will read and listen. Losing D.Draker, losing the reading of his private e-mail, all of that would be a huge loss for him. So I hope he will read the post and finally update, and other Vista users will benefit, too. See how kind and caring D.Draker is?
  4. The browser is actively supported with security patches, it didn't "die", no matter how you wish it to. It's just the problem of such rare engine updates, which is probably fine for users in China with their restricted and censored internet, but not for MSFN website with its super frequent updates.
  5. No. https://msfn.org/board/topic/182660-intel-hd-haswell-drivers-modded-for-vista/#findComment-1198948
  6. How much improvement we are to expect? Approximate percentage?
  7. By 2003, I was really tired of the previous OS UI. That was my excitement, on the other hand, Longhorn's UI was also not my favourite,
  8. Explanations, this pile of garbage quits working even on MSFN, and no updates seen on the horizon.
  9. I'd say, it comes as no surprise after a quarter of century. What about Fujitsu-Siemens, Fujitsu, or just Siemens? You don't consider them? It'd be a perfect choice, as of they have lots of thin clients.
  10. @Dave-H,sorry to be of bother, I can't seem to find how to edit the title. I would've wanted to edit from: "I moved to CentBrowser, I feel happy about it." To "I moved to CentBrowser, I don't feel happy about it anymore." Or (for your choosing) "I moved away from CentBrowser, times have changed, the engine became outdated." Thank you, Dave.
  11. Took some time to dive deeper in AV1, and it sucks. they don't bring anything new to the table, the codec lacks the depth of the famous H265 8bit,
  12. I was under the impression it does';t, unless you explicitly specify. You want to tell it does it silently? Well, then I'm against this. Kind of anti-feature if it does it without consent.
  13. It's a mobile chip, even if by some miracle you find drivers, they won't work because of the power saving techniques like "Optimus".
  14. Those who use Vista, sit on Nvidia, all up to GTX Pascal will work, and I personally made ported drivers, but that would be off-topic to talk about here, just some things to consider.
  15. Hi, no. And that one in particular, especially no.
  16. It never worked for me on usual Vista either. There's no proof it worked for anyone else. You can install 4.6.2 Developer version instead. Checked by me, personally. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44927
  17. I compared the extracted WD HDD from My booksplastic box, which I wrote about before, and it's identical to the famous Red Series (NAS drives). WD80EFZZ, ir was still produced, at least in 2022. The only difference is the label, mine is white, without the red stripes. It's 100% made by Hitachi.
  18. Or the model of the HDD, we'll figure out everything else.
  19. Thanks for keeping us informed, people usually tell, I'm clairvoyant. What else is here to comment... I sincerely wish you have success with the new programme.
  20. Yes, and here's they ask how to decrypt it. https://superuser.com/questions/482645/how-to-decrypt-a-disassembled-wd-mybook-essential-hdd
  21. Not sure about Toshiba, I always counted them budget, with WD I had the same cache size.
  22. Do you remember what you did to the drive? Do you know those circumstances it was under before you? Was it ever hit with a hammer? Was it under artillery fire, I'm not joking, I saw such cases, and some drives survived. But those were not the 80's/90's ones. So you need to tell us the year of mfg.
  23. *Of course* hard drives park the heads OFF the platters, away from them. The question is, was the drive under the circumstances that could affect the condition of the emergency parking spring. EDIT: Not to double post, not long ago, I already explained to another user what happens in an emergency case, look it up at my account.
  24. Any repair is much more expensive and prone to the future failures than getting a new drive. If you want to restore the info, there's no guarantee it's not damaged beyond the point where it makes no sense, especially seeing what you describe about the condition,
  25. While I understand your frustration, I'm pretty sure everyone was serious. I also wanna know if there's a virus scan on the forum, just for the future. We can't trust a random person on the internet. It's not only about you. You're the least of concerns and interests. At least three people reported that over 7KB difference in your image. So?
