Now back on topic , I don't have any problems with Chrome's fonts on Vista . And never had . The screencap was made with default Vista's settings . No additional colours.

Perhaps something's wrong with your Nvidia GT610 ? I read low-end GPUs can't render small pixels properly .

    opera_46_hackerman

I know what Opera 46  is ! And I know why 46 and not 49 . That was the last version that accepted localized extensions on Vista . Most of the discussions about browsers on Vista and this Opera 46/47 (somewhat worked too) you can find somewhere in 2020 in the ex-kernel topic where Dixel told us this . Then he wrote this launcher for this exact version. I can only guess why this version name is still there (Dixel likes to say he's lazy/busy, guess this is why) . But the new launcher was made for this 13.5 version and it's absolutely different . It has an advanced aero interface and the size is like 1.9mb. Plenty of settings in add. tab too.

  4. Hello everyone , please help me find a Vista driver for this almost 15-years old sound card , I'm looking for this version , proven to be the best .

    Version: 6.12.8.1738-RC01

    File Size: 18.70 Mb

    Release: 14 Jul 2008

    Filename: xonar_dx_81738_rc01_vista.zip

The audio driver link is down , but the page with the info is still alive .

    https://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php?v_page=23&v_code=21842&v_langue=en

Or these , but they are not as good as the previous one , 1738. All inks are down , sadly .

I've decided to be a tad more non-conformist

Jeez , I've just read non- communist . Very funny , what do they call it when we read only the first and last letter and then guess the word ? I mean when one fast reads a text , on the fly .

  6. @Dave-H, welcome to the 360 browser club ! Warmest greetings ! I really think you need to write to Dixel since he made huge advancements in his version . And I mean really huge . NotHereToPlayGames is a nice fellow , don't get me wrong guys  ! I'm very grateful for his 13.5 version , I just don't really like the soft-settings approach . I prefer hard-coded , like in the Dixel's. I'm still between the two versions , moving towards the Dixel's though. Why ? There I can choose all settings within his own interface . Yes , he made an interface . Not to mention hard-coded search providers and other sweet stuff . One can choose any UA agent , privacy settings , etc. There's no such thing here , sadly . I still hope NotHereToPlayGames will create it though .

If I knew what the question was, I may.

The original question, if any, has been lost (or I cannot find it easily) in the midst of the (senseless) bickering (and whining).

Maybe if these latter behaviours could be stopped (possibly right now) the communication among members would be easier, smoother and also more productive.

jaclaz , thank you very much , the question (repeated again) is here.

    https://msfn.org/board/topic/183152-windows-vista-on-intel-haswell-and-later-issues/?do=findComment&comment=1210631

I don't know if you followed these topics . I'll tell this story , the short variant . A dude , sorry , a guy from Poland came out of nowhere just several weeks ago , claiming that Vista Haswell issues were fixed (he pointed at a self made article in beta wiki) and was busted by another users : Dixel , Jacob99 and the other user who asked me not to mention him (!). No Microsoft statement exists , of course , nothing to prove his "theory". So we need to forget about Haswell , it's not fixed . Now I found this comment , let's say "info" about newer Intel systems (Kaby-Lake) and another user says , please read below . I'm going to upgrade and I want to be sure if it really works . Thank you again.

  8. @msfntor, he will chill . It's just I think he is somewhat right , not that I'm saying you're wrong . But we all gotta agree on something . Like in the 5th century , when the Saxon tribes agreed to use the language of Angles (English). He is right about web-gl and web-rtc , for example . Dixel wrote it somewhere too , earlier . I totally agree it shouldn't be used , avoid such websites is our advice .

You and I had a v13.5 discussion where we tried some write-protect file/folder naming scheme.

Oh sorry man ! How could I forget you ! You , of course you too ! It must have've been the nickname you've recently changed . Again , so sorry !

I understand the word "dude" as equivalent to "mon vieux", "mon pote", "mec" in French or other languages... so friendly...but I could be wrong of course.:)

    Of course !

Vistapocalypse didn't use it that way.

    Playing "clever"  .

Jeez , I just don't get it, what's wrong with people these days ... so much hate right out of nowhere . Users should be helping each other here . It's only a handful of us left. I noticed many questions I ask are simply ignored or something like this follows (calling me names). In fact , the only persons who actually helped me and answered my topics are you (with the failed update), jaclaz (uni-extractor) , Dixel (chrome browsers and anti-tracking/removing telemetry) . I only count people who wrote on-topic answers that really helped . Again , thank you all ! I'll be glad to help any MSFN member .

  12. 1st half of 2020, German electricity prices 43% higher than the EU average. As a result, Germany’s renewables experiment is effectively over.

By 2025  $580 billion spent to make its electricity nearly 2x more expensive & 10x more carbon intensive than France !!!

LOL or someone's really working on purpose ?

Do they really say “dude” in France? In America, only id*** speak that way.

Dear @Tripredacus , please tell , if a user calls me an id*** (indirectly, like in this case) , can I call this user an imb*cile in return (also indirectly) ?

Or such kind of behaviour is forbidden for me , but not for him ? Thank you and Happy New Year !

    P.S.

I did not even address him as "dude" , he took it out of another reply to another user.

I must be non-european, then (though last time I checked Italy was part of  Europe ).

Maybe you are expanding your regional experience to whole Europe?

Using "dude" to address someone - at least in my perverted mind - is not particularly funny.

Maybe I am just becoming too old,  and the yutes[1] communicate differently nowadays.

I've never heard Italians were using American English in Italy, I always thought it's just Italian. Thanks for letting me know , I'll make sure to not call the Italian hotel staff "dudes", the next time I visit Italy.

Dear @jaclaz , could you please translate the question to the not "dude" from Poland (who can't read the link) or doesn't understand the question I asked ?

Thank you very much , you're very helpful , as usual. Happy New Year , BTW !

Please do not mention me for no reason. I have no plans to install Vista on Haswell or newer (and it sounds like you don’t either). I also have no plans to install ESU updates on Vista, since I have no ESU license for Server 2008 and I am not a cybercriminal. (Server 2008’s EOL was in January 2020.) Nevertheless, it appears that I reacted favorably to that September 7, 2020 post, as did win32. You left out part of it though:

Do they really say “dude” in France? In America, only id*** speak that way.

First and foremost , I am going to upgrade, hence the question . I wrote about my upgrade here.

    https://msfn.org/board/topic/180779-win-vistausb-3-drivters-how-to-integrate/#comment-1210453

"not a cybercriminal" - what are you implying ? Are you implying the person who wrote that comment is the one ?

"left out part of it though" - there was a reason , I'm not interested in UAC prompts and permissions.

I'm only interested in the damn "timer" .

In France, we have the most beautiful foul language , which I'm not going to write here .

But I'll answer regarding the word "dude".

First : I didn't write it to you !! So why are you so excited then?

Second : between the Europeans, it's some sort of a joke that you'll not (never) understand, tied up to the cheap American B/C-grade films.

Well , I know (not personally, of course) this one American @NotHereToPlayGames who constantly says dude. Though, I'm not sure he'll like your insult.

And even two "dudes" in one comment :

Those are the first that came up in the site search !

Also , don't forget to explain your opinion about people who say "dude" to win32 :

  16. New year is coming. Happy 2022! A little guess about the shape of things to come.

    1) Omicoof breaks the narrative, but its "escape" will be blamed on the "unvaccinated." It will be allowed to spread wildly and cause lots of disruptions (schools, flights, work, etc.).

All of this disruption due to lots of people getting sick all at once will be blamed on the "unvaccinated," even though case loads, etc., will be worse in the vaccinated. This data will all be made foggy, hidden, disrupted, and misreported, of course. The scapegoat must remain. The goal of this uncontrolled omicoof disruption will be more blame upon the "blameworthy" while offering the Regime and its mouthpieces an exit ramp ("The Science changed because the 'unvaccinated' screwed up"). They'll still push "vaccines" in this time even though it's nonsensical, but this will all be in preparation for Phase 2.

    2) "Cyber pandemic," massive disruptive cyber attacks interrupting LOTS of stuff, far more disruptive than coof. They've telegraphed this for over a year. Believe it or not, it will kind of be the "unvaccinated" who are blamed for this Cyber Pandemic, but the shift will be from the "unvaccinated" to the "digitally anonymous," who are predominantly "unvaccinated" because they refused to get coof Digital ID "passports."

We'll see a massive shift in narrative and scapegoating from the "unvaccinated" to the "digitally anonymous" (or something equivalent), these will be linked to make a scapegoating bridge (like "deplorable" to "unvaccinated"), and a new, hard scapegoating campaign will commence.

The goal is always to get to fully controllable Digital ID. It will be racist, sexist, misogynistic, threat to public health, threat to cybersecurity, etc., to refuse a Digital ID, and it will be a full-court press against the "digitally anonymous."

That's my best guess for the adventure we face in the first half of 2022, at least so far, reading the entrails the Regime keeps putting out. Make no mistake and take heart, though. They have plans, but they didn't expect to lose this hard this fast. Keep fighting!
