  1. Sorry to say this, absolutely useless test ! Why ? Please re-read our replies again and you will see : you need an external "cold" storage connected and it must be in sleep mode (HDD in full halt mode) in order to trigger the spinning and then BSOD (for me no BSOD, but only scanning/spinning). But I'm not on the "right XP hardware". EDIT : Also I don't have any AV installed.
  2. Absolutely baseless accusations, off-topic idiocracy. An attempt to start flames.
  3. So I replaced the card and it's all the same. I think ( a hunch ) the cheaper (lower numbered) ones aren't as good as the top of the line . Binning process ? Anyways, it works, the only problem is the awful colour representation, @win32, I don't have any driver conflicts , like you discribed earlier, what driver would you suggest me to mod ? Thanks.
  4. Can I please disagree with you this one time a bit ? I think the hardware was made with XP in mind up to 2006, simply no other Windows versions existed and the PCs were sold with XP stickers on it up to 2006. Also, if you remember, there were no Vista drivers at all - for many devices even in 2007/08. So smth like core duo x6800 is somewhat right for this browser and XP. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/27258/intel-core2-extreme-processor-x6800-4m-cache-2-93-ghz-1066-mhz-fsb/reviews.html
  5. Dear Gawd, why do we have so many accusers here !? First, it's *at least* not polite to accuse a respected member such as @AstroSkipper, not to mention him being Frisian ! Second - It's not "fake news", I encountered exactly the same behaviour with this browser and provided screenshots in the now locked topic. Don't forget another new member confirming this. Third - AstroSkipper is very kind and always polite, like most of the Germanic people. I love the the way how he compiles sentences and I would love him to be my English teacher ! Dreams, dreams ...
  6. Why do you address this question to me ? After reading the latest developments, confirmed by multiple users (now including me) about the behaviour of this browser, I made a decision to never use it again, what's so hard to understand ? EDIT: Thank you.
  7. You undeservedly accused @Dave-H of "racism", and I accuse you because you lack respect for the English language, how's that ? You don't know the difference between "your" and "you're" and I'm insulted. You have no respect for His Majesty ! For this in most places, including USA, your comment would promptly trigger a security escort out of the door. If you're lucky, maybe paid or unpaid leave until the incident is investigated. A detailed telemetry analysis would be more productive, only if you prove us wrong. No, I've changed my mind. No "analysis" will make me use this browser again.
  8. Acknowledged, admitted.
  9. ...your Multiple Activation Key to become available after purchasing Extended Security Updates... https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/get-started/extended-security-updates-deploy
  10. No. You don't know the scene, obviously. What for ? Please tell us. By "your" you meant Dave's ? Well DAVE-H is always welcome in France, I will find him avery good job personally ! I can assure you - he will not be "investigated" here, under my personal protection.
  11. Is this a joke, right ? I don't see any "racist" commentaries in @Dave-H's speech, what he meant is we know for sure because the browser and the starter app (both) were made by the Chinese and/or Russians, no other countries involved. I'd even say DAVE-H is very tolerant, perhaps too tolerant sometimes. And we are overloaded and tired of tolerance, in my opinion. And there were lots of "detailed reports" over the years with this browser, including IPs.
  12. If I was @Dave-H or @Tripredacus, I'd at least put a warning in the title . But I'm neither . How to put it politely and not to offend some sensitive folks ? Well, smth like : Beware, this browser has suspicious behaviour, confirmed by multiple users and the most advanced AV with AI. And who the hell knows what else is going on inside that enormous amounts of RAM this browser uses ? @AstroSkipper , remember the old topic where we made several screenshots and compared to an ordinary Chrome version ? It was like 10x times more , very weird.
  13. What's there so hard to understand ? You're trying to catch it with your eyes or simple software that is not meant for such tasks, while our dear @AstroSkipper , whom I never doubt, is using a modern piece of software and it is based on artificial intelligence. 360Chrome browser performs spinning (scanning) of any connected HDD/USB/SSD disks and/or accesses (scans) them ! Why ? We assume to track your info!, and these actions WiseVector StopX (clever software) tries to intercept and ends in multiple BSOD. Will you still use this browser after you know this, is up to you !
  14. Thank you for the explanations! I also confirm this, now I tried several different HDD enclosures ! That would perfectly explain why others didn't notice. I have no AV at all. But my firewall screams with "incoming traffic detected".
  15. OK ! So you confirm they perform actions. How am I (we) allowed to call these actions ? Malicious ? Or multiple BSODs and 10x times RAM consumtion are still not enough to call them that ? Thanks.
  16. I had an anwser for this but someone deleted my reply. Looks like a secret information. I guess you could find it at the real ungoogled developer forum.
  17. With these latest discoveries it would be easy to explain now ! Perhaps it hides the malware/virus/tracking in these enormous areas of RAM ?
  18. Not only here, if you search in older topics, they wrote it is in more locations.
  19. Thank you very much, you know I always value your opinion and advice and have 100% trust in your experience. I don't remember you wrote it before though, perhaps I missed it ? Sorry if I did ! WiseVector StopX is Chinese , so it knows where to look ! Now you discovered a virus in these !? Nice, this is getting more and more interesting ! Wait a minute, lemme get my popcorn.
  20. I wrote, I get the same spinning discs like you . I used this browser (old version) for some time but tried this one only after your reply just out of curiosity ! Also my firewall sometimes told me "incoming traffic prevented".
  21. Absolutely agree ! Besides, he got the knowledge about this "ungoogled" version and the explanations about removing the Chinese DNS from another MSFN user @Dixel, whom he didn't even mention here, which is considered not polite here, at MSFN. My hunch is in this new version the chinese/russians changed lots of things and this is why it became even more unsafe and without Dixel the creator of this repack doesn't know how to properly remove them. Again, my opinion. Good someone else confirmed this, otherwise some would say I'm "trolling" again. So in short , new version , new telemetry locations which he doesn't know where to look at. Hence the spinning disks, cookies, etc.
  22. Nicely said ! Unfortunately it seems impossible to get here since it's still based on the old russian sterter app that simply removes the registry entries and does nothing to prevent them in the first places.
  23. Excuse me, why should I force such a terrible experience with "modern" apps on me ? I don't quite get it.
  24. Wow ! Just wow ! It's to scan your data on the disk and then send it to the russians, obviously ! I'm so glad I stayed away from this browser version and my data didn't leak. Like I knew something bad was going to happen. I just checked on another spare computer with a cold storage and it does the same for me ! The PC is offline, of course. Many thanks for your warnings and greetings from Vichy.
