  1. k, thanks - i got it... but it seems the new version makes more troubles than goods! the msi bug hurts... and i fear that fixing here and there makes the whole program more and more unreliable in terms of running on various machines. furthermore im no autoit freak - narf... its really a pain! maybe there is someone around willing to continue the wihu project... although wpi is quite nice... hah, choices, choices, choices... and lots of waiting :-)
  2. 4.4? where did u get it from? am i blind? but thanks for the fast reply!
  3. **** - this is really apita. i just switched from wihu to wpi (because the development of wihu was stopped and i like the dependency options...) but the cpu time is really APITA! i mean - most of the time its just... waiting? i have to wait 14 seconds (AMD64 2.1GHz) after pressing the config button :-(. 2 seconds when going back to the install menu... is there REALLY now chance to uhm - somehow "fix" this? is it just adding the registry entry and then - uhm - idling? anyone knows?
  4. get NIRCMD - its free, small and has some other nice options... (like opening the cdrom drive, setting volume levels, remove the clock from the system tray, remove the start button :-))
  5. should the win-key switch work with the original msi, too? i still get the popup after installing with this WINKEY option. am i doing something wrong :-(?
  6. Hi! Great, thanks! After minor modifications it works for me! (You just forgot to leave your serial - it would have been just copy&paste with that :-)) CmdLine=SERIALNUMBER=XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX-XXX ADDLOCAL=ALL REMOVE=WPYahoo /qb /L* %systemdrive%\WPO13.log AUTOLOG="%systemdrive%\WPO13.log" I have to check whether it works for the Graphics Suite, too (for me even more important). Do you have a list of component abbreviations used?
  7. Noone? this suite is impressive... give the trial a try (and tell me how to install it silently please :-)) Maybe anyone has an idea how i could check for a running process? and run a specific command once this process is started or finished? might help installing it silently!
  8. strange.. i never got that message before today. i just updated my source files using XPize42MCE - and now i get this message. beside that, the "Show Desktop.scf" in the quicklaunch is missing. went back to my "original" files and it works... really strange
  9. uhm - just remove it from autostart using a reg file (or a cmd file, whatever you prefere)? and if thats not enough, copy over your "original" winamp.ini file (i'm doing this, don't know whether its required for turning of agent). Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] "WinampAgent"=-
  10. working with 5.13 without the use of AutoIT (it's part of a wihu script, but i guess you get the idea): description.9 = Winamp 5.13 description.9.0 = Taskkill Winamp description.9.1 = Taskkill Winamp Agent description.9.2 = Taskkill EmusicClient.exe command.9 = %wihu%\Winamp\WinAmp.exe /S /install=SRF command.9.0 = taskkill /F /IM winamp.exe command.9.1 = taskkill /F /IM winampa.exe command.9.2 = taskkill /F /IM EmusicClient.exe hidden.9.0 = 1 hidden.9.1 = 1 hidden.9.2 = 1 selected.9 = 1 selected.9.0 = 1 selected.9.1 = 1 selected.9.2 = 1 and at the end (when cleaning up the system) i run: "%programfiles%\Winamp\eMusic\Uninst-eMusic-promotion.exe" /S though i have to admit i'm not sure whether i still need it or its just a leftover :-)
  11. i can imagine that... however, the advantage is the export-/importable settings file. ever thought of giving the office version a try? i wanted to check this out, but never done it up to now. if you have any information about that, please let me know.
  12. as i said, user error :-). (don't take it seriously or personally, ok?) using norton IS a usererror :-). i used nis up to 2004? or the version before? but it screwed up my system (and every other system i know of). in terms of speed, system integration, stability, annoying bugs/interfaces, predefined settings,... tried a LOT of other firewalls since then... till i found outpost. or jetico (depends whether i - or the installed machine - need(s) freeware or shareware). i've been using outpost for almost 2 years and had no mayor problems (ok the install engine sucks because the silent switch doesn't make it completely silence - but hey, you can't have everything, can you?!)...
  13. Uhm, i suppose that is what i call a user error. maybe you could give some hint what one reason or another was/is :-)? @thuun derboy: Sygate WAS good. However, the last update for the home edition was some 3 years ago or so (correct me if i'm wrong)... and even more for the professional version! and if you check out leak tests you will see whats the point. If you want a free firewall try jeticos personal firewall. very good according to leak tests, free, silent install option, small. On the other hand, i completely agree with you in terms of AV - Norton sucks (the whole "suite"). For a free AV i use either avast! or avg (both comparable in terms of virus detection efficiency). If you want to go for a commercial one, use nod32. i've been using kaspersky for some time but the impact on harddisk access time (transfer rate, whatever) is APITA.
  14. Never saw taht option using a Mac. Whenever u want to change from newest X to older versions you have to reboot... whenever you want to run another OS you WILL have too boot it. and you WILL have to shut it down... linux, bsd, windows... if not, it would be great - just log off windows and switch to bsd - would be REALLY GREAT! I'm using powerquest drive image 5. its dos based, so u have to reboot. it works with just a few clicks and is imo a cleaner way to restore a system.
  15. I'm using PowerQuest DriveImage 5.0 - i prefere the DOS version when restoring - and its quite fast! For firewall, i recommend Agnitum Outpost- there is a 30day trial. I know, u wanted to have a simple one, but i can install this unattended (AutoIT - the only drawback) and add settings via a script - so everyone who uses my install DVD can use my optimzed firewall settings...

  17. i got 2.8.3.1 silently with an autoIT script... i suppose they didn't change the installer? maybe u can give it a try: Run ("SetupCloneDVD.exe /S") WinWait ( "CloneDVD2 Setup") ControlClick ( "CloneDVD2 Setup", "", "Button2")
  18. Hi! Anyone got these programs to install silently? there is an msi file in the cgsX3, it responds to the /qb switch but starts another msi automatically after the first :-(. so it sends an end command before completely finished! word perfect x3 doesnt work at all :-( any help would be grat - thx in advance
  19. sorry for the delay... this is for german (and english? or is english included by default?) the command was dir /s > list.txt to include subdirs :-) Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> FILES 01/10/2005 19:11 12,288 ProofingTools.MST 01/10/2005 19:41 1,708,032 PTK.MSI 15/07/2003 06:57 416,824 PTKSETUP.EXE 21/02/2003 02:06 19,697 SETUP.HTM 4 File(s) 2,156,841 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> PFILES 0 File(s) 0 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> COMMON 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> MSOFFICE 0 File(s) 0 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\COMMON 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> MSSHARED 0 File(s) 0 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> INFORMAT 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> MODI 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> PROOF 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> TRANSLAT 0 File(s) 0 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\INFORMAT 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 19/04/2000 17:47 465,677 ITIRCL52.DLL 19/04/2000 17:47 520,117 MSITSS.DLL 2 File(s) 985,794 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\MODI 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> 11.0 0 File(s) 0 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\MODI\11.0 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 14/06/2002 05:34 402,135 GERMAN.LNG 1 File(s) 402,135 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\PROOF 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> 1031 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> 1033 03/11/2000 23:36 10,241,847 MSGR3GE.LEX 27/05/2003 14:46 135,168 MSHY3GE.DLL 17/11/1998 01:20 1,547,932 MSHY3GEA.LEX 02/04/1998 03:27 1,462,740 MSHY3GEP.LEX 07/08/2004 16:54 404,671 MSSP3EN.LEX 07/08/2004 09:59 436,122 MSSP3ENA.LEX 12/10/2004 11:03 163,840 MSSP3GE.DLL 11/04/2003 09:54 2,429,584 MSSP3GEA.LEX 15/04/2003 09:16 2,490,400 MSSP3GEP.LEX 16/01/2003 11:34 131,072 MSTH3GE.DLL 03/04/2003 11:20 4,043,914 MSTH3GEA.LEX 03/04/2003 12:20 3,900,658 MSTH3GEP.LEX 04/09/1997 14:37 1,256,833 MSWDS_GE.LEX 18/06/2003 10:00 301,935 PTKMAIN.CHM 25/07/2003 11:31 9,449 PTREAD.HTM 15 File(s) 28,956,165 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\PROOF\1031 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 15/12/2000 00:52 3,358,720 MSGR3EN.DLL 04/11/2000 03:56 1,388,544 MSGR3GE.DLL 2 File(s) 4,747,264 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\PROOF\1033 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 18/12/2000 15:30 1,388,544 MSGR3GE.DLL 1 File(s) 1,388,544 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\TRANSLAT 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> ENGE 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> GEEN 12/01/2001 07:51 2,120,459 MSB1AR.LEX 28/02/2000 05:21 1,536 MSB1CACH.LEX 14/07/2003 21:57 124,480 MSB1CORE.DLL 18/04/2003 07:57 122,942 MSB1EALR.DLL 02/05/2003 18:18 81,920 MSB1STAR.DLL 14/07/2003 22:12 47,872 MSB1XTOR.DLL 22/07/2003 19:35 221,184 WTSP61MS.DLL 7 File(s) 2,720,393 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\TRANSLAT\ENGE 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 09/10/2000 10:32 7,081,642 MSB1ENGE.ITS 1 File(s) 7,081,642 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\TRANSLAT\GEEN 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 09/10/2000 20:20 65,536 MSB1GEEN.DLL 09/10/2000 18:35 7,158,436 MSB1GEEN.ITS 16/03/1999 02:20 1,068,544 WT61DE.LEX 3 File(s) 8,292,516 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\MSOFFICE 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> OFFICE11 0 File(s) 0 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\MSOFFICE\OFFICE11 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> 1031 0 File(s) 0 bytes Directory of E:\Unattended\Software\Office2003_ProofingTools\FILES\PFILES\MSOFFICE\OFFICE11\1031 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> . 01/10/2005 20:20 <DIR> .. 13/10/2000 03:17 15,378 MSO.ACL 19/12/2000 07:56 139,264 WWASUM.DLL 2 File(s) 154,642 bytes Total Files Listed: 38 File(s) 56,885,936 bytes 50 Dir(s) 141,195,259,904 bytes free
  20. /edit: delete - my suggestion was globally, too :-(
  21. i think i did this the manual way... i copied the PTKSETUP.exe and ptk.msi to a new folder, started the install, selected the languages i needed and copied all files setup asked for (because it didn't find them) into the appropiate folders... it uses 55mb right now... hope this helps...
  22. I always prefere the original packages - but thats just my opinion - makes its easier to keep my DVD up2date. So Firefox_Setup.exe -ms does the job. As for the Quicklaunch icons or start menu entries i run a simple cmd afterwards to delete/create a shortcut to wherever I want, e.g.: "%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\" As for the extensions/themes i put them all into one directory (i know, this is just a method to install the extensions, NOT to personalize them - and im not sure why i included the profile creation - anyway, it works). When you run this from a cmd %e is ok - when you want to inlcude it into a .cmd you have to replace %e by %%e. "%programfiles%\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe" -CreateProfile profilename "%userprofile%\Mozilla\Firefox" IF EXIST "%programfiles%\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" for %e in ("%cdrom%\Software\Firefox\*.xpi") do "%programfiles%\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -install-global-extension "%e" IF EXIST "%programfiles%\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" for %e in ("%cdrom%\Software\Firefox\\*.jar") do "%programfiles%\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -install-global-theme "%e"
  23. thanks for ur reply - but i want to RUN a registry clean AFTER installation/registration. like a defragmentation at the end of my ua installation... install regmech and run regmech /S vom the dir u intalled into - then u'll see what i want :-)...
  24. hi! does anyone have an idea how to do an unattended regclean after install? i can start it using regmech.exe /S but nevertheless there is this annoying screen waiting for my input to delete all the unneccessary stuff - if i could automate that it would be one of the few points needing improvement...
  25. outpost is the only good one. i prefered sygate b/c of several features, but its not really improved... look n stop should be great, but the configuration somehow sux... http://www.firewallleaktester.com/tests.htm
