  1. - How do I run taskkill minimized or in the background? If u do a taskkill /f /im ***.*** the dosbox is closed automatically? but i think that cmdow.exe @ /HID or something silmilar solves ur problem. As for " don't see it in the Program Files folder": in the folder or the add/remove programs? Cleanup.cmd won't run: Hmmm - does it need a cmd/c cleanup.cmd? I'm not using RunOnceEx method - sorry :-(

  4. I experienced this behavior when the setup.exe wasnt able to write the logfile (because i installed from dvd and forgot the logfile command).

If i import the settings BEFORE i pushed one (only one is neccessary) of the programable keys, my keyboard wheel is not working. However, if i push just one key, cancel the welcome-or-whatever-message and add the reg entriesafterwardseverything works fine... Do u have a fix for that? I never tried to install iTouch in my VM.

Hehehe - got the same error today the first time... thats really strange... i just added a (finally working) quicklaunch.reg and two cdroms in my vm were disabled - although i installed software a minute before... the lowerlimit was set by clonedvd - although im pretty sure it didn't do that the last time... its weird...

I never tried it for UA but in theory it should look similar to this here: net use z: \\Fileserver\Software\ this mounts the share on ur fileserver to the drive letter z:\ Afterwards just edit the wpi.cmd (if u are using WPI for selection of packages to be installed) to fit ur needs. By default it checks for the cdrom drive using this command here: for %%i in (C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z) do if exist %%i:\WIN51 set CDROM=%%i: you can simply replace it by set CDROM=z:\ and then everything should work. Thinking about this, i suppose i have to get my old TB850 running to set up a server :-). *looking for a harddisk and a case*... but that would be another source of noise :-(

  9. This would indeed be interesting - especially if you could apply it BEFORE installation of skype. I did an ua recently and "everything" went fine except for skype - it told me that there is a new version available - DURING install - stoping all other appsfrom beeing installed ua :-(
  10. I use Powerquest DriveImage 5.0 for that purpose..Yes, it isMUCH quicker than an unattended install.. but u never get new apps :-)

I failed trying to export&import my rulesset using sygate (and i tried REALLY hard tofind a solution, if i remember correctly i found a FW-comparison saying it is not possible at all?!)- thats one of the reasons i switched to Agnitum Outpost. There i can store my config file on a separate partition, install Outpost silently (using an AutoIT script, thats the disadvantage) and point to the config file by running a reg file that changes the default path (if im not wrong with the last part)... The other reasons why i use Outpost is b/c of the incredible good Adfilter.... I tried out a loooooooooooooot of different proggys, but heres what i use (stability and speed "optimized") Firewall: Agnitum Outpost 2.6 (like the features and the option to save my rules definition to another partition, although Sygate is imo the better program) Anti-Virus: Speed&Usability: AVG >(=) AVAST > Kaspersky Professionality: Kaspersky rulez (althoug makes the system incredible low) Advanced Windows Tuning: regedit.exe Download Utilities: FreeDownloadManager (free and more features than u use for downloading) E-Mail: Outlook (okok, its M$, but it has nice features), otherwise Thunderbird (b/c of the spamfilter) Webdesign: dunno? Dreamweaver? Frontpage? Graphics Development: Photoshop, CorelDraw; sometimes CorelPhotoPaint Hard-Drive optimization tools (defraggers for example): for initial defragmentation Winternalsdefrag manager (unbelievable performance, although its a cmd proggy), Diskeeper 9 for "screesaver" mode Windows error Checking (Like Norton Utilities): Registry Mechanic rulez, Norton sux, RegSupremePro deletes some entries i need badly Anything else that comes to mind: xplorer2 (must have) > ExplorerXP (no shares, network support) Opera 8 (must have, even with the banner at the top) >>>>> Firefox (IF you really think ff ist faster, then give this here a try: http://www.numion.com/stopwatch/ and enter http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ as website). Afterwards, run FireTuner 1.1 from http://www.totalidea.com/freestuff4.htm - CLEAR the firefox cache and do it again!   13. or you can disable theadmin account, can't you? it shouldnt work than any more... although i have to admit that im running winxpsp2 with an admin account and its stable and i have no probs regarding security. its easier to install new software when logged in as admin - its just lasziness!

I tired the script using wpi and it works. i just compiled the script using au3_2_exe or however this is called. maybe u should change the winwaitactive command to winwait? or maybe just start the autoItSpy and check how the cancel button is called? maybe u have another version than i have :-). if there is still need in the evening, i can send u the exe - just dont have it handy right now!
  15. I know that only one incoming connection at the same time is allowed. my question. is there a possibility to install some kind of vpn server? like an ftp oder http server? i cant imagine that noone else ever had this problem!
  16. Imo the best is XPlorer2 XPlorer2: Its fast, free and quite comfortable ExplorerXP: Free, fast but doesnt show shared folders and network environment

  18. I have an msi thats also version 2.1 (i think this is the newest). However, installing it silently works but it wants to "see" the msi file the first time it starts :-(. I switched to your method now b/c its much easier - thanks :-).

As written in the topic: is it possible to set up a vpn connection with windows xp pro and have the option to connect with more than one client at the same time? by default windows xp allows just one login via vpn. i know its possible with server 2003 (in theory) but xp pro? any help would be great! thx
  22. As mentioned on page 1 if u use just the msi file you'll most likely have an error when starting PS b/c of the missing autoupdater. And what i posted at the beginning WAS an AutoIT script (i suppose batman75 copied it )- just copy it and save it to a plain text file and rename to whatever.au3. Of course, you have to register it within the first 30 days, but hey, at least its installed unattended :-). i suppose its the same as with adobe acrobat professional - the activation just sucks and can't be automated (as far as i know)! And hey, the topic was "remove activation screen on install" - not REGISTER it successfully :-).
