  1. When you say 8xx chipsets, are you talking about the Intel 8xx chipsets or the AMD 8xx chipsets? If you are talking about the AMD 8xx chipsets, then I would suggest that @bob_smith tries Windows ME in a virtual machine to see if the results are different.
  2. I have experienced this exact issue on my Ryzen system. Try using VMware Workstation 12. On my Ryzen system, Windows 98 works properly in a VMware Workstation 12 virtual machine.
  3. I think the corruption problems may be present in an older version of ExportTableTester. I have no way of confirming because the version on my website is the only one I have been able to get my hands on. I also have 2 questions for @win32: Have you tried ExpX64? Why does your version of kernel32.dll has 4 export tables in 4 different sections with the same name?
  4. There are a few post-EOL update released by Microsoft for people who had a custom support contract. I am wondering if anyone has any of these updates. The ones listed are the ones I would like to get my hands on the most: KB2524426 KB2535512 KB2536276
  5. The extended kernel isn't ready for public release yet. You will need to direct message win32 to get the link.
  6. I am wondering if there is any easy way to find duplicate subroutines in a PE file. I initially tried using a hex editor, but found that calls would make it not work because of the fact that the hex data may vary even when calling the same function or subroutine. An IDA plugin would be ideal, but I am fine using anything that does the job.
  7. The most recent info about himself on MSFN is that he was dealing with anemia, and that was in September 2015. The latest version of his kernel32 rewrite was in December 2016, so he stayed well for over a year after. I hope he is still around, but I'm pretty sure he isn't working on Windows 2000 anymore.
  8. I would rate Windows 2000 9/10. It's new enough to be used as a daily OS. Roytam1's browsers run on it (with BlackWingCat's kernel), and it doesn't consume RAM like the newer versions of Windows do, and has no telemetry. There are some downsides though, like not having any good antiviruses and the fact that not very many security patches after 2011 have been made for it. I have been working with WildBill's files because there is lots of documentation, they seem to be more stable, and there are no stubs. I also plan to document my own changes in a similar manner once I release something new. I don't have lots of assembly knowledge, but I want to learn more and I have the necessary tools to do everything I want to do in the future (IDA Pro, Hex Rays decompiler, UEStudio, Beyond Compare). My current W.I.P. projects (in order from highest to lowest priority): My extended kernel, NVMe support, porting longhorn HD audio drivers. These projects may stay W.I.P for a long while because of their size/complexity and me being busy with school.
  9. BlackWingCat released an update that patches the MS14-068 vulnerability, but the version of kerberos.dll in this update was not based on kerberos.dll from KB2508429, meaning there was no version of kerberos.dll with patches for MS11-013 and MS14-068. I added BlackWingCat's patches to WildBill's version of kerberos.dll and made an update for the new file. Download
  10. BlackWingCat has new versions of Adobe Flash Player on win2k.org. To find, go to http://win2k.org/wlu/wluen.htm and click "Manual Update" on the left side. Select these options: OS Type: Windows 2000 Kind: Additional function Language: English Click search and the versions of Flash Player are at the bottom of the list that appears (newest at the very bottom).
  11. What's wrong with Edge? I'm assuming you're talking about the chromium edge here. If not, I also don't like the old edge.
  12. I have already tried this before. It boots but only sees one device. My BIOS version is E7A34AMS.AE0
  13. Mine are Ryzen 5 1500x, MSI B350 PC Mate, 16GB RAM, GTX 960 4GB. My USB issues happen when I have multiple devices plugged into the same controller.
  14. I'm pretty sure the issue is USB related. I get the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screen when a USB drive is plugged in.
  15. I ran Vista on my Ryzen system a while ago, but I couldn't find drivers for most of the devices. It was stable, but I wasn't using any drivers that aren't built into Vista.
  16. I know win32 is working on fixing a Ryzen specific problem in vista, but I don't know if the one win32 is working on and the one that is causing your BSODs is the same problem.
  17. This is the closest thing I could find to what you're looking for: https://www.bios-mods.com/BIOS/index.php?dir=Insyde%2F&download=100%_AAO110-150_v3309_Menus_Ulkd_By_Camiloml.exe It's version 3309 instead of 3310 but it should have all the menus unlocked.
  18. I just checked TXTSETUP.OEM of this driver: Intel Matrix Storage Manager 7.6 for Windows 2000(Intel 300 Series 蟇セ蠢-type h). It has the entry that is missing in TXTSETUP.OEM from the 8 series driver.
  19. I can't directly link to BlackWingCat's website because of a bad gateway error. I already tried to provide a link to a file on BlackWingCat's website before (link). I also specified that the Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers should be used. The newer drivers work on older storage controllers, so the drivers for 8 series and newer will work with 7 series storage controllers.
  20. When integrating the drivers, are you selecting only the device that matches the one in your laptop? I know that selecting all of the devices can cause this error. Here is what I'm talking about:
  21. BlackWingCat's Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers should work. They can be found here. When adding the driver with nLite, choose "Intel(R) 7 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller".
  22. Can you provide more detail about what's wrong? If the CD reader itself is broken, then I would recommend buying a working one from a website like ebay.
  23. Here are a few pieces of useful information that are related installing Windows 2000. 1. Use AHCI and integrate only the storage driver for the specific storage controller you have with nLite. 2. When integrating Intel drivers, you can only pick one PCI ID or the installer errors out saying "iastor.sys is corrupt", so choose the one that matches your storage controller. You can use Easy2Boot to check the PCI ID of your storage controller. 3. Install Windows 2000 from an optical disc whenever possible, even if that means buying blank discs.
  24. No because AMD never made XDDM drivers for that GPU.
