  1. Hello Everyone! I have an old laptop (Pentium 4 2.80GHz, 30 GB hard drive, 512MB RAM) where I installed Windows 2000 with KernelEx 2.8c Many programs that didn't work before now work perfectly. Now I would like to install Visual Studio 2010 Express (requires only 2GB). Here's what I did: I downloaded the Visual Studio offline iso file from the internet I downloaded a utility called ImDisk (It allows to emulate a dvd drive when you select the iso) I tried to start the program, it started, but it didn't go far ... Because it gave an error when it tried to install the .net Framework 4.0 Multi-target. On the internet I have found nothing on how to run it on Windows 2000. Anyone knows? Thanks (P.S. I managed to install .net framework 3.5 and .net framework 2.0 SP2)
  2. I have successfully gotten the OS/2 Presentation Manager (PM) subsystem to work under Windows NT 3.51 and Windows NT 4.0! The files that require OS/2 to function can be found at \WINNT\System32\OS2\ sub-directory with the following file: oso0001.009 And in \WINNT\System32\OS2\dll sub-directory there is doscalls.dll and netapi.dll. Has anyone ever managed to get the OS/2 Presentation Manager to work under Windows 2000? I honestly didn't know that the OS/2 subsystem existed under Windows 2000 before support was removed in Windows XP onward. Share your thoughts.
  3. Hi, Is it possible to boot Windows 2000 on UEFI? I know it is possible to boot Windows XP and Whistler Beta 1 on UEFI, but wanted to know if it was possible to boot 2000 on UEFI. One person was able to boot Whistler Beta 1 on UEFI, but struggled with 2296. I tried this on Windows 2000, and followed the same steps shown in NTDEV'S XP UEFI video. When I try to boot it with the Vista 5219 files, I get the 0xc000000f error. What would need to be done to get 2000 running on UEFI? If it isn’t possible, why?
  4. Need Windows 2000 UURollup [Multilanguage] (by @tomasz86) im making Windows 2000 Today i have downloaded Windows 2000 Hotfix - KB2817183 from BlackWingCat [IE6.0SP1-KB2817183-WINDOWS2000-X86-ALL (backup)] (Sorry for bad english)
  5. Hi, I've been looking to install 2K in a VM and want to have the most updated system as possible. I've been searching everywhere for an installer for the 2K Rollups from user tomasz86 among others, but all I can find are old threads on here and at RyanVM.net, dead links to Google Drive, and some other users' sites which are spottily preserved on Internet Archive. I don't see much of anything newer than 2012 or so. Tomasz' windows2000.tk page is still up, but you have to download all the updates manually and it's very tedious. I thought I had seen screenshots of a Rollup installer awhile back on http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/152194-discontinued-update-rollup-2-for-windows-2000/ but even in the page title it says that the project is discontinued. What's the status of this? Is the project dead? Am I missing something, some other way to download the updater?
  6. Curious if anyone has any recommendations on purchasing a cheap laptop around 8-11 inch or so which can run win2k. Looking for something under 200. Plenty of x86 Windows tablets out there but those are primarily Win8 only for obvious reasons
  7. It seems I do not have advanced power management enabled in my windows 2000 install on my FM2 board (fm2a75m-itx r2.0). The APM tab missing. I cannot shut down or reboot the system and it will not go to sleep. Is it simply not possible to get it installed on that kind of board? It also runs at full speed all the time and there doesnt seem to be an 15f processor compatible k10ctl utility available. What am I to do? I am almost to the point of selling the board/chip and getting a new comporable intel board. What do you guys think?
