You can get from here: http://rtfreesoft.blogspot.com/search/label/browser New build of post-deprecated basilisk/moebius for XP! * Notice: This repo will not be built on regular schedule, and changes are experimental as usual. ** Current moebius patch level should be on par with 52.8, but some security patches can not be applied/ported due to source milestone differences between versions. 2. I do not think so. Regarding Basilisk you may install classic theme restorer and classic toolbar buttons and customise it to your liking. New Moon 28 and Mypal I suggest you to install HTML5 media tuner since all sites ( I mean the ones I frequent ) play videos with Adobe Flash as well so by disabling html5 you don't get the 23 minute thingy. This does not apply to youtube.
  3. You could use Smart HTTPS 0.2.5 as it says " automatically changes HTTP protocol to HTTPS and if loading encounters error, reverts it back to HTTP ".
  4. In New moon go to view or right click navigation bar > toolbars > customize . Drag add on in question anywhere you like.
  5. Downloaded heinoganda's certificate updater. Extracted files and I got two files Certificate updater version 1.2 and Certificate updater version 1.3. I gather I will have to run version 1.3 is that right ? Is there anything else I should be aware of ? So just by running that file certificates will be updated. Thank you in advance By the way my windows update is disabled due to the high cpu usage. Does that matter ? PS: My system is not Posready. I reckon I got all the office 2007updates post 2014 and all the updates that MS published after that date.
  6. Since you mentioned it, I've started getting said errors on September 13. Never had any changes made to certificate system.
  7. Thank you this sounds very interesting indeed. However I do not have the habit of downloading videos. For some reason, I prefer streaming. As previously mentioned I don't have any ´problems at all using ff52 in all sites that I frequent it plays the videos uninterrupted. The freezing problem every 23-25 minutes occurs only on youtube. For that reason I am going to be using either opera or google chrome. All other browsers NM28, Mypal28 and Basilisk 52 present the freezing symptoms all over the place. I do realise that my query as to why , is something like ... go figure. Kind regards
  8. @Sampei.Nihira about Basilisk. I f you had not set in about:config the general useragent.compatmode.firefox and general.useragent.compatmode.gecko to true, Basilisk would have passed the test with flying colours.
  9. Thank you roytam1. It is just a minor niggle I can live with that. Cheers
  10. FF ESR 52, NM 28, NM 27, Basilisk 52, FF 45 esr all freeze on youtube after 23 minutes and approx 14 seconds. By clicking on the video timeline ( even a second backwards or forwards ) it resumes and it is ok for another 23min 14 secs. All of the above except FF ESR 52 present the same syptom on all sites that I tested. I am not sure about NM27. If my memory serves me right I think it worked fine as well. Any Ideas on that ? Cheers
  11. Ooops silly me. Thanks for the clarification ! Unfortunately NM28 got the 23 minute few seconds youtube syndrome.
  12. I had been using NM27 SSE, very good and extremely fast. I encounered a bit of an issue, had trouble loading comments ( the guardian newspaper ). No problems what so ever using FF 52 .9,Basilisk 52 , Opera, Google chrome or seamonkey. I switched to NM28 and comments are loaded without any problem. I have to confess NM28 is the dog's bollocks. FF52 and Basilisk 52 are pretty similar the latter uses a bit more cpu which is not really an issue. Basilisk 52 and NM27sse seem to suffer from the 23 minutes and a few seconds spinning wheel ( freezing ) curse on youtube videos same as FF52. I have not tried NM28 yet. Roytam1 thank you from the bottom of my heart. Just in case you are not aware of https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2018/08/21/timeline-for-disabling-legacy-firefox-add-ons/ My ublock origin add on had been updated to version 1.16.20. When tried to revert to legacy version 1.16.4.4 Mozilla would not allow me to do it. the excuse was that add on not verified even though it was clearly stated in Releases . gorhill/ublock that legacy version is verified. https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases Had to change xpinstall.signatures.required to false.
  13. I am using Avast version 12.3.2280 released about a year and a half ago I am not very keen on the later versions. On my other computer win7 pro I am using Panda free which is very light and has a pretty good malware-detection scores. Still support winxp. I strongly recommend it. cheers
  14. This might help you. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/skyshield-av.364456/ https://malwaretips.com/threads/skyshield-antivirus.27660/ Cheers
  15. Panda free https://www.pandasecurity.com/usa/homeusers/solutions/free-antivirus/ Compatible with: Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP (SP3 or later) I have been using for a while on my other computer Win 7 pro 64bits and it seems to be pretty good. On XP I have been using an older version of Avast 12.3.2280. Today I asked Avast forum "Will the last stable version of Avast that supports WinXP be available to download from avast forum/site after January 2019 ?" MartinZ responded "yes, it will still be possible after Jan 2019 to download the online installer and install it on 17-year old Windows XP/Vista. It will install the version 18.x. If you use the same installer on Windows 10 it will install version 19.x. https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=220639.0
  16. You could always use Malwarebytes Antiexploit. Firefox is already protected and you could also add to the shield Basilisk. Latest version Anti-Exploit 1.12 Build 100 is a bit problematic on winxp and vista. The procedure entry point K32GetModuleFileNameExW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll." Soon they will fix it. Had to reinstall last working version 1.12.1.90. I always keep copies of previous releases. If you wish and if it is ok with forum rules I'll be more than glad to give it to you but you 'll have to tell me how to do it.
  17. The one I have been using is called NO COIN. I did that test and I am protected.
  18. In my case when trying to watch videos ( site : http://www.watchfree.to/tv-2a2cf8-Dark-Matter-tv-show-online-free-putlocker.html/season-3-episode-1 ) even though videos load without any problems I get that spinning wheel in the centre of the screen throughout the movie. This is also true for the all the direct links except Vidtz TV. On other sites such as https://solarmoviez.to/ or you tube etc.. I even tested porn sites everything is ok. This problem applies to firefox ESR, opera 36 and sea monkey where I have got the latest version of adobe installed. When I use google chrome latest for xp adobe 21 if not mistaken, movies play normally without the irritating spinning wheel. Everything was running smoothly for all browsers at least 3 days ago. I really do not know what could possibly cause that. Any ideas ? For your information the site that I got the aforementioned niggle Video Js flash component V5.1.0 is used while on the solar movie the component used is version 7. But then again it does not make any sense since everything was ok three days ago. I trust this is the right thread to post this. If not, please accept my apologies. PS : I have not installed any add ons recently.
