  1. I am using Avast version 12.3.2280 released about a year and a half ago I am not very keen on the later versions. On my other computer win7 pro I am using Panda free which is very light and has a pretty good malware-detection scores. Still support winxp. I strongly recommend it. cheers
  2. This might help you. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/skyshield-av.364456/ https://malwaretips.com/threads/skyshield-antivirus.27660/ Cheers
  3. Panda free https://www.pandasecurity.com/usa/homeusers/solutions/free-antivirus/ Compatible with: Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP (SP3 or later) I have been using for a while on my other computer Win 7 pro 64bits and it seems to be pretty good. On XP I have been using an older version of Avast 12.3.2280. Today I asked Avast forum "Will the last stable version of Avast that supports WinXP be available to download from avast forum/site after January 2019 ?" MartinZ responded "yes, it will still be possible after Jan 2019 to download the online installer and install it on 17-year old Windows XP/Vista. It will install the version 18.x. If you use the same installer on Windows 10 it will install version 19.x. https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=220639.0
  4. You could always use Malwarebytes Antiexploit. Firefox is already protected and you could also add to the shield Basilisk. Latest version Anti-Exploit 1.12 Build 100 is a bit problematic on winxp and vista. The procedure entry point K32GetModuleFileNameExW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll." Soon they will fix it. Had to reinstall last working version 1.12.1.90. I always keep copies of previous releases. If you wish and if it is ok with forum rules I'll be more than glad to give it to you but you 'll have to tell me how to do it.
  5. The one I have been using is called NO COIN. I did that test and I am protected.
  6. In my case when trying to watch videos ( site : http://www.watchfree.to/tv-2a2cf8-Dark-Matter-tv-show-online-free-putlocker.html/season-3-episode-1 ) even though videos load without any problems I get that spinning wheel in the centre of the screen throughout the movie. This is also true for the all the direct links except Vidtz TV. On other sites such as https://solarmoviez.to/ or you tube etc.. I even tested porn sites everything is ok. This problem applies to firefox ESR, opera 36 and sea monkey where I have got the latest version of adobe installed. When I use google chrome latest for xp adobe 21 if not mistaken, movies play normally without the irritating spinning wheel. Everything was running smoothly for all browsers at least 3 days ago. I really do not know what could possibly cause that. Any ideas ? For your information the site that I got the aforementioned niggle Video Js flash component V5.1.0 is used while on the solar movie the component used is version 7. But then again it does not make any sense since everything was ok three days ago. I trust this is the right thread to post this. If not, please accept my apologies. PS : I have not installed any add ons recently.
