  1. They made a very bad failed version (1.7.19955), i can speak for XP, cause if you download their opencodec suggested - PotPlayer codec (upd: 06/20/2019): OpenCodecSetup - the issue isn't go away. Luckily the previuos working version (1.7.18958) can be found here
  2. Last version isn't XP compatible (not valid win32 appplication).
  3. In past i often had problem like this not only for XP also on W7. I resolved almost always setting active the new partition but i can't know if it can help in your case.
  4. Thanks for the tips, the F2 open a world of personalization included close-tab-cross on tab. Indeed it's a browser more advanced then others about "mouse gesture". For example you can close a tab just double clicking on the tab itself.
  5. Vista is the SO most similar to Windows 7 without all the telemetry mess related to W7,W8, W10. But if it's not a problem why don't use Windows 7? Another aspect that can be considered is that a lot of smartphone hardware can take advantage of a much wider driver base on W7 platform via WU.
  6. Really impressed by the speed and the rendering of this browser. Unfortunately there are missing features in his building (almost present in modern browsers) such as the ability to duplicate, or close a card with a dedicated cross (unless you're a pianist with CTRL + F4) or navigation incongnito, or copy and search on web but does his job admirably with an easy costumization.
  7. Leaving aside the specific case, this represents a known limit in the workplace today on XP systems. Since MS Office (this is especially true for Excel/Access) interacts online (for example through macros) in IE8 by default, so if the sites that display databases (think to corporate or institutional database) are unreachable due to IE8 failings, it is not possible to work with Excel/Access worksheets who exchange/update data from Internet.
  8. Thanks Dave.. i think ProxHTTPSProxy does the trick. I would need to know without it.
  9. It seems that a lot of site gradually can't be open in IE8 also with TLS 1.1/1.2 checked. Just for testing purpose can someone confirm for example on this?
  10. Somewhere in some remote folder of some remote hardware I should have both WLE 2009 (XP) and 2011 (Vista) offline working installer. edit: don't know if it's multilanguage
  11. Can't quite understand 1) an outside-china installer is made in native chinese language 2) a lot of people are using a chinese browser without control on options/where/what is installed.
  12. What version of NoScript do you suggest? I can't find v2.x, on the official site there's only a 5.1.9 (NoScript Classic). It would be great if you could link the best suited version of the cited add-ons for your patch Right, but for better performance on old processors you must find a practicable tradeoff between safety and usability. Indeed, these old machine are generally not dedicated to surf web, only when it's needed on web source of reliable respectability.
  13. Downloaded from the first post and scanned with virustotal: nothing detected by any engine https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/0de9772981bd29934609f34290ac761183048c4f76701bf69f0831347f765c78/detection I've blocked installation cause i can't understand any options!!! i see only lines of multiple squares with some "360", something like this □□□□□□□□□□360□□□□□□□□□□ ✔ ✗
  14. Just for better understanding what's the best way to let UOC Patch work. After a clean install of 45ESR get prompted to 45.0.1. Now get prompted to 45.3ESR. For the future I would like to avoid making the whole procedure according to this scheme (arriving to 45.8.0 ESR) so my question: is 45.7/8.0 ESR the latest version suggested that really retains the features for ante SSE2 processors? I ask this cause my suspicion is that by moving away from the pure 45.0ESR the browser becomes increasingly heavy for these old processors.
  15. excellent reporting. Apparently the player is not able to recognize automatically the presence of new versions (I don't know if it depends on XP)
  16. Great news. For anyone who would try to localize the system tell, please, your experience. In past i installed SP4 on one system following guide to use language pack but the result was not quite satisfactory: half start menu remained in english, and get miscellaneuos languages in the options related to right mouse click.
  17. After several testing conducted in pm with looking4awayout it is noted that problematic site causing RT1_F45ESR (45.9.15-2019025) crash doesn't dipend on the UOC Patch (which in truth is a solver, removing plugin-container), but on the Roytam1 version itself. Unlike what was done previously all tests were conducted on clean browser installations. Summing up: Firefox 45.0.1 (if you install original FF 45 ESR, it's soon automatic upgraded to 45.0.1) - OK RT1_FF45ESR - CRASH RT1_FF45ESR + UOC Patch - OK The only way to get patch working (for me as it's proven) is doing both of the following action: 1) put UOC_Patch45.js in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Defauls\Pref\" folder 2) rename another instance of UOC_Patch45.js as prefs.js and putting it in C:\Documents and Settings\(Your Username)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\(Your Profile folder)"
  18. I don't know better removing that part!? I deleted old prefs.js and renamed UOC_Patch45.js in prefs.js. After firefox launch, i see prefs.js becoming from 45Kb to 5Kb (hope it's normal this behaviour). Now url test gives no more problem
  19. In C:\Programs\firefox\defaults\pref i have only channel-prefs.js and UOC_Patch45.js, no custom prefs.js. I use only ublock but just for isolating issue/testing purpose on plugin-container try to open this from your FF45SSEpatched browser and see what happens. I can open it from Chrome but in FF45 everything hang up.
  20. Malwarebytes v3.5.1.2522 is the last working version for XP/Vista users and it's the best compromise between scan quality (far superior to MSE) and resources usage. The downside is the missing of an anti-ransomware module for XP/Vista system. v2.2.1.1043 is suggested with old processors using same definitions updates.
  21. After more intensive use, I must slightly review the initial impressions. For pure sites consultation (news/institutional/mail) it works flawlessly and, as i said above, quite similar to chrome 49 that on this system used ( Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz) is fastest browser but severely penalized by the increasing number of sites that use protocol no more supported by chrome (ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH). Issues begin to arise surfing on sites with a lot of interation/informations exchange like social/video/forums full of incorporated multimedial elements: e.g. a youtube video of 2 minutes starts after one minute of rotating wheel, while with chrome it starts almost immediately. Finally, with more open pages (from 5 onwards) stability suddenly decreases and plugin-container stopped working (you can't click anything and have to close process from task manager loosing all pages). That problem never happened to me before with pure Roytam1 Firefox 45 ESR/Serpent 52. So summarizing, for quiet tasks the patch it's really ok giving a faster solution to chrome unsupported sites, but for an extensive use the lack of stability undermines its potential.
