Astalavista, i want to know how to disable default monitor driver too and I searched for it BUT couldn't find it. my point here is Because some of you are EXPERTS, why don't you help other when they ask you "how to" question instead of sending them to SEARCH for. if they found what they were looking for, would you think they will post their message here and ask for help.? i don't think so. i'm thinking about writing a bat file to delete files and folders AFTER unattend setup and i'm not sure where "del" and "deltree" command locate in windows folder so that i can use these commands in my bat file. If you know, please let me know. 2-If you know a GOOD website which shows how to write a bat file from a beginning to advance level, please post a link here. thank you very much

if you know how to disable "default monitor" thing, it is very nice of you to tell him right here instead of sending him to look for it. i know this is not a SILVER plate which you are not going to give to him. Why don't you give him a SILVER SPOON so that he can get his job done.

I have never used a driver package from here. Only a driver from nvidia. here is what you should do. 1-download a driver from nvidia 2-extract the driver from this setup.exe by using winrar into a folder in your computer 3- if you use winxp, the only thing you keep is winxp folder in this setup thing. 4-replace this winxp with displayer driver you have in unattended setup and everything should be fine. i didn't have any problem with it when i did unattended setup. Everything works the way it should be if you follow the instruction right

you gave us this hint "You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item." right lick on IE.exe in IE folder AND go to permission and make sure your wife has a full permission to run it

JV16 PowerTools' Reg Cleaner is the BEST. I use it every week and never have a problem. it found more junk registries than other. Delete them all!

there is 1 easy way to do this. download viewsonic driver and run it. After it finishes installing drivers on your computer, look in your C drive for "viewsonic" folder. you will have all the inf files about your monitors along with other monitors in this folder. rename this folder to something else or go head and delete it when you are done because it's safe to do so.

I made my own IE and "display property" setting in winxp pro. I want to save these settings in a reg for future reference. do you know the location where all these settings are saved in registry.? if so, please let me know. thank you very much.

i tried to apply your registry tweak in my system BUT the "wall paper" thing doesn't work. i basically want windows xp.jpg as a default in computer background in a "stretch" position. i tried to change "custom.bmp" to "windows xp.jpg" in c:\windows\web\wallpaper BUT nothing works. have any ideas how to fix this problem. or another way of exporting my current registry and import it later on? thanks

I have 1 easy question. I notice a few folders in windows xp setup which i want to delete BUT i'm not sure if they are needed during installation. 1-Tool 2-Value/add one 3-winnt upgrade 4-win98 upgrade 5-win migrate please let me know if above folders are safe to delete. I don't want to upgrade anything. Simply FULL & CLEAN installation thank you .

i have viewsonic pf790 and I tried to use unattended setup to install the driver BUT it doesn't work because my monitor is not plug and play. Winxp always installs its default driver and i have to do it manually. this is what i find out. If your monitor is not plug and play, you have to install it manually.

i have a wintv PCI card from hauppauge. I added its driver along with other drivers. Everything works fine EXCEPT this WINTV DRIVER thing. it has audio & video driver. The strange thing is audio driver is in BUT not video driver (yellow mark next to it). I receive this error message "A service installation section in this INF is invalid." when i manually update it if i remove this video from device manager and run driver setup, everything is OK. how can i fix this problem.? thank you.

i downloaded a free english version of IEAK6 from microsoft. When i run IEAK wizard, it tells me that i need to tell it what *language* i want to create BUT there is no "english" language listed there. what can i do to fix this problem.? if you a "english" language , please post it here so that i can run IEAK 6. btw, IEAK6 is free to download from MS. I have cmdlines.txt in $oem$ and it works if there is 1 command. When i put "com1.exe;com2.exe", it doesn't work. 1-I want to run more than 1 com.exe. What should I do.? 2-I put nero in %oem%\$1$\app\nero.exe and app.exe. Oemfilepath="app\nero.exe;app\app.exe". It doesn't work. I want to be able to run more than 1 program. what do i need to put on "oemfilepath" what i need to do to fix these problem.? thank you very much. Please be a little bit more details.

I used this before and it has not worked. This switch will work if you only have 1 drive in your computer. i have 2 hard drives HDD1: C, E hdd2: D,F,G your switch will not even format on the first partition winxp sees.
