I have MS optical mouse driver installed in winxp pro sp2. Lately, I have experienced 1 weird problem. Occasionally, my mouse device disappears in device manager for no reason EVEN THOUGH it was listed or detected in my computer a few minutes ago. I mean it wasn't listed or detected in my computer and my mouse stops working. when i reinstall MS mouse software, everything is ok. anybody knows why it behaves like this and how to fix this problem because this problem drives me nut.? if so, pls share. thank you

i have gspot program installed in my computer and i want this program appear on right click menu when i right click a media file. if you know how to do this in registry, pls share it here. thanks

the problem is solved. Yup, isshortcuts are missing in 3 location. Putting them back to where they are solves the problem. isshortcut doesn't contain any value. I mean there is no 1 BUT 0 or "empty"

finally the problem is resolved. All i have to do is re-activate windows xp prefetch and I can see all my programs in frequently used programs in tweakui. thanks for the help

thank you for reminding me. I applied a registry tweak from this site and thing acts weirdly in my computer. i'll let you know if there is STILL a problem.

when you create a short for a file, you usually see a "narrow" pointer appear in a shortcut. for some strange reasons, i don't see that "narrow pointer" appear in my shortcut any more. when i create a shortcut for my folder or file, i can't tell which one is a shortcut because they all look alike. if you know how to fix this problem, pls let me know. thank you

When i open tweakui (latest version) for winxp pro, i used to see a list of programs in "frequently used programs" which i can check to enable or uncheck to disable. lately, i don't see anything. Everything is blank. I want to get this list back. thanks do you know how to fix this problem.? thank

from what i understand, winxp will detect a number of time an exe file open and add it to frequently used program in start menu. because i use service.msc many times, winxp keeps adding this .msc to frequently used program in start menu. I don't want it there any more. 1-how can i add it to "exclusion list" so that it won't be add to frequently used program in the future.?? i also have another question. 2-When you right click on an empty desktop, you will see "new" along with "property". In this "new", you will new folder, briefcase, and file. where this information stores at in a registry.? thank you

I have 2 questions about importing a registry. 1-when you import a registry into your computer, it will automatically delete the old one and import a new one OR it will OVERWRITE the old one with a new one.? 2- I notice there are default, system, and so on files in c:\windows\repair folder ( not sure the location) BUT the problem is these files are OLD. They are from WINXP. how can i get default, system for WINXP SP2 so that i can prepare my winxp sp2 problem if i have any problem.? thank you

when you open tweakui and go to "start menu", you will see a list of all your applications.In here, you can enable or disable them from showing up on "frequently used program". for some strange reasons, i don't see them appear in "start menu" in TWEAKUI. i tried to uninstall and re-install BUT nothing works. if you know a solution, please let me know. thank you

I uninstalled some applications from add/remove program BUT they still appear in add/remove program even though they are removed. How can I permanently delete them for good.? (where are they in the registry.?) thank you very much

Hopefully, you will answer them all for me. 1- I configured apache 2 to work with php and mysql. There is no problem. When i type 127.0.0.1\phpinfo.php in IE, everything works. what do i need to do to make it work if i type 127.0.0.1\phpinfo in IE's address (this time is no .php extension).? 2- let's say i write a php script and save it in desktop> when i click on it, i want IE to open it and execute it without going to command line and type php example.php. thank you

i remember after installing nvidia driver and going to "display property", you will see "nvida tab where you can change all the settings and configuration" (forget what it calls). how can i include this package of software in unattended setup without using "setup.exe".? i don't have any problem installing nvidia driver in my computer BUT i would like to have nvidia tab in "display property". if you know how, please share. thank you.

Drivers r not detecting during installation, help

there are some changes you need to make. 1-decide which operating system you want the drivers to install. If you want them to install in winxp, there is no point of including driver for other windows EXCEPT the one you installed. 2- When you extract the driver from your driver setup (using winrar or look at read me for instruction), only keep the inf files. hope it helps -
i want to apply a registry tweak at the end of unattended setup. I wrote a batch file for it and save this batch file and registry tweaked file ( sys.reg) and along with "cmdlines.txt" under $OEM$ folder in this batch file, set path=%cdrom%\$oem$ %systemroot%\regedit /s %path%\sys.reg I tried this and it didn't work. What did i do wrong.? thanks

i have 1 small problem with IE's toolbar. there are 3 things on IE's toolbar: acrobat, google, and flashget. I don't want flashget on IE's toolbar. I went to internet setting registry and delete "flashget" from "toolbar" folder. it is gone BUT i don't see "acrobat PDF" word next to a check mark on IE's toolbar. anybody here has a similiar problem and is there a way to fix this annoying problem.? thank you very much
