ya i was thinking is was in F also, but his one core is at ~65F then, which makes it 18C... that just seems too low also 65F would most likely be below ambient temp or close to..

I'd have to disagree on this point. I use a TI-83+ Silver Edition and TI-89 on a daily basis. The TI-83+ SE can usually calculate an integral way faster than my TI-89. I depend on it for graphing and such as well. When it comes to having to solve for a certain variable, then I'll use my TI-89. Have you ever used a TI-92, Zxian? integrals! my calc teacher only let us use our calc on 1 test this year, and thats because we had to calculate some trig stuff with very weird angles... but she is allowing the class to use it on the final exam, she even told the class to go ahead and plug in all the formulas/rules. but im exempt from that exam, i rock at calc

i think we finally agree here. DirectX can get very complicated tho. but he defiently needs to learn the C languages. if he can gain a good understanding of those, then most of the other type of languages will be fairly easy to learn. my point is where will BASIC bring him? to C? if so then why waste the time learning BASIC when he can go straght to C. they arnt that similar anyways. BASIC is more of a linear language. -
Considering his two choices are SLI motherboards and yours isn't... he said he know nothing about chipsets, so he picked those just b/c he liked them i guess. he also said nothing about SLI. most people could care less about SLI.

i run some websites and my web host even has a stats page showing how many times a certain ip address has been to my site, which browser he has, what time he viewed certain pages, how much data he dloaded, etc. so all of this info is even recorded by almost every web host.

the odds of someone having this board and overclocking with it and on this forum is pretty low. i would suggest using everrest to benchmark your memory and just use whatever setting yeilds the best results. yes that is correct, and that is also in the guide. -
with water they should be under 40C, even under 30C... im ~30C on air. what program are you using the measure your temps? and what sensors are you using? are they sensors you installed or the sensor built into the mobo? did you use thermal paste? if so what kind? please tell me you used thermal paste.. are the fans running on the radiator? (did you plug them into the mobo?) is the water moving? is the pump running? (did you plug in the pump?)

BASIC was my first language but that what it is, basic. i see no point in having someone learn an outdated language. he might as well learn c++/java now, there are nice books on them as well to teach people. -

either c++ or java -
the only true way is to connect a wattmeter to your system. there is a website where you can enter in all of your parts and it will give you an approximation of your wattage, but i cant remember its name.. edit: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp i just did a calculation for my friends e6600+8800gts setup and it didnt even reach 400w, he doesnt overclock mine is just a little over 400w due to the overclock, otherwise i would be under 400w
-
thats a decent case, nothing that really looks bad about it. the front firewire will just connect to the header on the mobo. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/Sea...&CatId=1572 here is another good mobo out of the mobos you picked, i would go for the asus as for the back of the case, the panel there pops off and you pop in a new one that came with your mobo, so dont worry about it.
-
you will prolly need a new psu too... the ones they but in these oem comps are just enough for them to get by.
-
well by "expert" im referring to people who have experience with it. i can just go ask my dad, "when was the last time you downloaded a torrent?" he would be like, "wtf are you talking about." you see what i mean? my essay wont be done for a month, it need to be a nice 10 pages long... im going to be writing about copy protections and everything having to do with them.
-
oblivion again? ive beaten it 2 times now... have you played its expansion pack, the shivering isles?
-
afaik there is no way to use the BIOS to overclock unless someone created a BIOS meant for overclocking. you could try using a program like clockgen to overclock your comp... it may also not work but its worth a try. what is the exact model of ur mobo?
-
ya i was wondering about that too, ill have to ask my teacher about it, i doubt he will let me use what you guys said but im sure i can find it somewhere else. as for the poll, im pretty sure that he will let me use that. he wants some sort of an interview/survey from people who are "experts" on the topic. so i guess this is a good place to ask.

im not a calculator programmer, but i am a programmer(java, c++, php, html, etc) i have done alot of basic programs for my ti83, but as i said, they are basic.

Batch Files>>>Backup
ripken204 replied to nmedovich's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
i now understand what he wants. he wants for a batch file to pop up, then for the mouse/keyboard to disable so that no one can exit the batch file, then the code runs, the the mouse and keyboard come back on, then it logs off. nmedovich- what OS are you using? xp cant disable the mouse or keyboard, 2000 might, and the earlier versions can. -
ya you may be right but lets see how well ATI's drivers turn out to be. that could make the difference.
-
well you could just make a loop do something pointless and time it until its ~5sec and the loop to go for however many times you think it will need for that 5sec.
