um... i am the complete opposite. i grew up with a super nintendo and playstation, the only games on the comp that i even had were starcraft and warcraft and i love those still. then i got an xbox and i love it but then i got my sweet computer. with this computer i can actually play any game on full settings. you will never go back to a console once you've gotten a high end gaming computer.

only 80gigs are used for checksum? i thought that you needed a checksum of the total disk space that u want to using(160gigs). but you may be right, we both do know that its would be 160gigs of useful space and then there is a backup disk.

raid 5 needs at least 3 drives, 2 drives are in raid 0 and the 3rd drive is a mirror so say 2x40=80, then you will need another 80gig drive as the mirror

do not raid those! waste of space and may not even work. just follow the guide that jcarle posted. does it really matter that you will have 2 drives? i have my 1 hard drive partitioned into 4.

but 8ms means that there should be no ghosting yes, you may get some but if most likely you wont unless you get a low end one

those do have insane response times but thats it, otherwise they are the same. anything 8ms and under will have no ghosting so just go for whatever you want. but the two that you listed are still vry good.

not true that everything is overvolted. when you are clocking dual cores rly high like i am trying, it tends to undervolt

when was the last time you defragged? and how hot is it running? clean out the inside from dust if you need to.

tomcat-what are u stable at now? i have finally had some success today. ive burned in last night and that got me stable at 265x10 1.513 now im testing 270x10 and it seems to be stable so far at 1.582v ive tried 1.586v before at 270x10 with no luck but after a few weeks i am able to do it now ill let prime run for about 24hr since im going to be busy tonight, and ill report tomorrow

have you tried these disks on other computers? if they work on other computers and not on yours then try to find some firmware updates for your cd drive.
