  1. I would speak to Microsoft. If you have a genuine copy this can be resolved
  2. Did you try going into Recovery console and copying over the file from the repair folder into the system32 folder to see if that helps - may not but just a thought.....
  3. I know you said youve tested your memory etc, but remove one of your memory chips and try again if it occurs try using the other memory chip. This may also relate to another hardware problem, but the best way is to do it one at a time and start with removing one of the memory chips.
  4. This may help go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa and look for disabledomaincreds set this to 1 download and install windows washer from http://www.webroot.com/products/windowwasher/ install the extra modules and run the program. Restart. This should clear the list and stop it from remembering in future due to the above tweak (you can uninstall the program if you wish, unless you want to buy it)
  5. This is done after installing SP2. You can either check this http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechn...n/sp2brows.mspx or When your in security you need to pick the zone your after (Internet) then select Custom Level and you'll see the reset button. You need to add sites manually to the trusted zone if they do not work as expected.
  6. Not sure if this does it for all users or just the account the script is executed on....remember to backup your registry http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
  7. Could we have some more information????? What error message do you get if any? Are you using windows firewall? if yes have you disabled it, the same applies to third party firewall (i.e. Norton McAfee, Zonealarm)
  8. Not 100% sure about a registry file however you can do this by right clicking my computer select properties - Advanced- Starup and recovery select Settings. You can do the same by typing in msconfig (in the Run box) and selecting Boot.ini. Im sure you can create batch file if thats of any use to you.
  9. You should change the follwing key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop menushowdelay should be MenuShowDelay - right click and then select modify. If you cant make any changes make sure you have admin access - i guess your saying "I have admin access" in that case click Edit (whilst the key is highlighted)> Permissions and ensure your name is listed with access.
  10. Did you reinstall the drivers too?
  11. I would also say try using the connection without encryption also disable Windows FW (remember this was included with SP2) if its on, to see if that makes any difference. What happens if you set DHCP to automatic? reason why i ask is sometimes setting this to automatic may help too.
  12. Have you tried using scandisk to see if it repairs any problems?
  13. How about going into to safe mode and right clicking regedit.exe in the system32 folder (i think) and denying access to the user under the sharing or permissions tab.

    Mouse Pionter

Is it a USB wireless mouse? if so uninstall it via device manager and restart your computer - that resolved the problem for me..........
  15. This normally happens if you did not clean out your computer using spybot etc etc BEFORE installing SP2.
  16. Yes ive seen this!!!!! Youll need to uninstall SP2 (including KB824141 - if shown in Add or Remove Programs) then run adware and spybot which should resolve the problem.
  17. See if this helps http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;EN-US;224068
  18. It'll most likely stop working in 15 days. You should be using your new product key. See if this link helps: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-s...000112109184948
  19. Whats the error message you receive when you try accessing the folder? Have you tried right clicking the folder thats shared and adding the users account name that you want to use when logging on? (under the share permissions tab?)
  20. I usually have the problem of accounts still appearing after ive changed or amended the registry tweak given, and usually works in the following order: 1. Create an admin account using the user accounts in Control Panel (ill call this sysadmino) 2. Once created go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList right click for a new DWord value name it sysadmino and give it a value of 0 3. Reboot and you should be done. If you have files on the old admin account you can easily copy them over using another account. I know this is probably the same info already given however i thought the order that you should perform the above task may be something that you may want to take a look at.
  21. Have you tried using a spyware (SpyBot or Adware by Lavasoft) program to see if that helps?
  22. Not to sure if this is what your asking but if you open winnt.sif (with notepad) file in your i386 folder add your key in that file and save it.
  23. Try to open up regedit (using task manager) then go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE System CurrentControlSet Services RpcSs on the right hand side you will see ObjectName Select Modify (right click ObjectName) and change it to LocalSystem Then reboot
  24. Actually the hardware is the same (It's still my original machine im using to install it back on). The product key is going to be the same (i think its stored in a file ending in .sif). The only change is the disk im using to install the system from which is why i want to know where to copy the activation files to.
  25. Try Apache web server or Cassini Web Server.
