whenever I click installation button to install the software for my printer lexmark for my laptop using win XP home edition, the error system32 sound.drv will appear. I already reinstall the operating system.Same problem again occured. What will I do?

Did you reinstall the drivers too?

YUp! i already reinstall the drivers after reinstalling the Operating system but same thing again happened. same error message after I clicked the install button for the printer software for my lexmark printer. what can I do with this kind of error? PLS..... thanks........

I would try a few things..

Disable all sound devices in the device manager.

Download latest driver from Lexmark.

Does the printer have a setup.exe on the cd. possibly try that. If thats whats failing try the add printer wizard. Then direct it to the .inf

Final thing bit excessive but worth a try. Remove all sound componets from device manager. When prompted to reinstall on restart. Skip. Add printer.

Hope these ideas work.
