Remove Search from ONLY Start Menu

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm using the Classic Start Menu in WindowsXP Pro, and I'd like to get rid of the Search entry.

I've tried to remove it using the Group Policy Editor, but that also removes my ability to search for files in general, which I'd still like to be able to do.

Is there any way to have my cake and eat it too?

I couldn't find anything there that would remove the Search from the start menu. The entry "Remove the Search Button" refers to removing the button in Explorer at the top of the screen (next to the Forward and Back).
