  1. Thanks for your reply and feedback! Great! I am glad that you have no problems either. A third positive feedback! I am relieved. Thanks so far! Cheers, AstroSkipper
  2. I can't reproduce your problem. In my system it works perfectly. And Dave and mina don't have such problems anymore either. I asked you twice if you replaced the old files by fixed ones in your installation. Please check that and answer my question! PS: It's definitely not a problem of path lenght! It was just an assumption.
  3. Hi @NotHereToPlayGames, I have sent you two PMs without reply! My fixed files are working great with and without spaces in program path. It seems to be a problem on your side. Read my PMs! Cheers, AstroSkipper
  4. Thank you for quick reply and feedback! I am happy to hear that you have no problems either. Your feedback is very important for me! Thanks so far! Cheers, AstroSkipper
  5. Thanks for your quick reply and your feedback! Glad to hear that you have no problems. Your feedback is very appreciated! Thanks so far! Cheers, AstroSkipper
  6. Hi beta testers, @Dave-H, @NotHereToPlayGames, @mina7601 and @xpandvistafan, what's the status of testing? Any further problems? Does it work for you? I need feedback. Cheets, AstroSkipper
  7. Please completely black, bold and font size 18! Then it is more visible. Otherwise no one will find your tip! Have a look at my posts! Thanks
  8. Thanks for your comment and your opinion! I created this thread to provide all solutions at one place indeed. Solutions relating to AU/WU/MU should be found easily. All users can add reasonable solutions by commenting here. The goal is to let Windows XP live as long as possible. I didn't try this method but in most cases if security software iinterferes or blocks access to whatever, it's safer to make exclusions than to disable the modules entirely. Did you read my first post? I wrote: Maybe you can edit your post in that way. Have a look in my posts! And if you recommend to disable AV/firewall, please temporary only! Anyway, thanks a lot for your tip! Cheers, AstroSkipper
  9. Ok, I think if spoofing of specific browser engines was possible, it would be great for Windows XP's life span.
  10. But what does that have to do with my project? I don't see the connection. Spoofing specific browser engines? ProxHTTPSProxy?
  11. Very good! Glad it works for you! For Dave and mina it's working too. Good news! Fixing was apparently successful.
  12. Ok, so you test it with and without spaces. Right? And does it work for you? One PM sounds good but I think I'll leave it as it is. Dave and me are working on a special problem which is not a feature of my package.
  13. Hi @xpandvistafan, didn't know you'd be interested too. There are really more beta testers here than future users! But anyway, I'll send you a link via PM! And you will be my last beta tester! Too much writing of PMs! Cheers, AstroSkipper
  14. Hi my beta testers, @Dave-H, @NotHereToPlayGames and @mina7601, Dave found problems with my configuration program Configure PopMenu.exe and the starter program ProxyPopMenu.exe. They can't process paths with with spaces in them. All my tested paths didn't have any blanks. Therefore I had to fix both programs. Furthermore the documentation in my package still had to be completed. I did that now. Therefore I'll send you a PM with a link of new update package. This archive contains only those files which have to be exchanged. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  15. Good to know! Wasn't sure about it. Have a lot of fun while testing! Hope you'll like it.
  16. @NotHereToPlayGames, did you ever use ProxHTTPSProxy before?
  17. Due to the circumstance that other readers can't retrace such comments, send me your feedback via PM! Thanks in advance, AstroSkipper
  18. Hi @NotHereToPlayGames and @mina7601, thanks for wanting to be beta testers too! There are more beta testers here than future users! I'll send you both a PM! Cheers, AstroSkipper
  19. Hi @Dave-H, thanks for wanting to be a beta tester! Never had a beta tester before! I'll send you a PM! Cheers, AstroSkipper
  20. Rest in peace, @rloew! People like you won't be forgotten! Greetings from an old customer.
  21. Ok, the browser is called Kafan and not Kaftan. I was already starting to doubt my Google skills. Thanks for the link!
  22. Kaftan Browser? Never heard of it! Any links? I googled it and found nothing.
  23. Announcement: ProxHTTPSPoxy's systray menu will be released in the next days The test phase of ProxHTTPSPoxy's systray menu has been finished successfully and I've decided to publish it in the next days. I still have to configure the download package, title it, write documentation and check it all. Here is the latest screenshot of ProxHTTPSPoxy's systray menu: @Dave-H, as you can see I followed your suggestion to formulate the items as clear as possible for all users. Thanks again for your opinion! Cheers, AstroSkipper
  24. Windows Update Error Codes If an error code occurs while accessing AU/WU/MU, it's helpful to understand the meaning of it. Here is a very comprehensive list of Windows Update Error Codes: http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/archive/wuc.htm Another list of these codes with more detailed descriptions is the "Complete List of Windows Update Error Codes" and can be found here: http://woshub.com/all-windows-update-error-codes/ Legacy Update also provides a list of Windows Update Error Codes. Here is the link: https://legacyupdate.net/errorcodes Cheers, AstroSkipper
