  1. Update notification! Both versions of my Root Certificate and Revoked Certificate Updater have been updated and are now of 11/29/2022. You can find them in the section 11.2.4. Downloads related to Root Certificate Updates in the first post of this thread. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  2. Check your network and firewall settings! Maybe, an intervention of other security programs on your system? Or it might be a temporary server connection failure. Hello @CIACIACIACIACIACIA! Have you been able to solve your server connection problems in the meantime?
  3. And now a note especially for my German compatriots. The online webstore MediaMarkt was no longer fully functional in New Moon and Serpent. A few days ago, I posted the problem in the issues of martok's palefill: https://github.com/martok/palefill/issues/66 As always, martok did a great job and fixed the problem. Furthermore, he still added compatibility with Serpent 55. Now, you can shop again with our UXP browsers, especially in case anyone still needs Christmas presents. The new version 1.25 is already released and can be found here: https://github.com/martok/palefill/releases/tag/v1.25 Further changes and fixes have been made. The complete changelog can also be read there. Cheers, AstroSkipper PS: MediaMarkt is active in different countries, so the fix might help (presumably with minor modifications) non-Germans, too.
  4. It is rather language than culture related. In German, we very often prefer much longer sentences as it is the case in English. But I always pay attention to correct grammar and consistency of content. Over the last months, I already reduced the average length of my sentences. But no one can quite deny their true nature.
  5. Thanks @CIACIACIACIACIACIA! Another new version! The frequency of program updates on Legacy Update has risen sharply. A sign of active development! I already updated the link in my post: Cheers, AstroSkipper
  6. Check your network and firewall settings! Maybe, an intervention of other security programs on your system? Or it might be a temporary server connection failure.
  7. @mina7601! I don't think you are entitled to make such statements, especially in relation to your age. That is solely up to the creator of this thread and the moderators or administrators. Think first, then write is my advice for you! BTW, you don't have to comment on everything. Sometimes, speech is silver, but silence is golden!
  8. It's a nice touch to thank @heinoganda, but he won't notice as he was last here in July 2020 and seems to have turned his back on the forum since then.
  9. The favicons show me directly which website belongs to the respective tab. Extremely useful! And, I would never waste my time to load all tabs in my session while starting my browser, so logically, browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand is set to true. But, that's not enough. For years, I always install the extension "Lull The Tabs" to unload automatically tabs which are currently not in use and to ensure that tabs are only loaded if I click onto them. All that to minimize used system resources. Cheers, AstroSkipper PS: As far as I can see, your English seems to be quite good and not as bad as you claimed in my thread.
  10. I am a member of MSFN since 2010. The "reputation" system and the "leaderboard" used to have more of a purpose, but are now meaningless or moreover worthless. It has been and is still being reduced to absurdity and shot into insignificance through meaningless voting or the new game I call "rep scoring", among other things. There is a troop of members here who have finally dealt a death blow to this voting system. In any case, I would suggest that the word "reputation" should be replaced by "number of votes". So that new members here don't think that certain people have an insane amount of knowledge, even though that's not the case. Anyway! I would be lying if I said I was no longer interested in voting in general. I am still interested in voting for real, meaningful, technical contents. Unfortunately, every nonsense is voted for in this forum as well as in this thread, but real content that has been painstakingly created often hardly gets any attention. There is an excellent saying in the German language that perfectly describes the number of daily posts of some members: "Quantität ist nicht gleich Qualität!". Translated: "Quantity is not equal to quality!" or "Quantity does not mean quality!". And as for MSFN, it seems no longer to be a technical forum but by definition a communication platform according to the administrators, as I unfortunately had to learn some months ago. A communication platform! Like the social media platforms! That is very regrettable. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  11. Yes, that's correct. And v1.4 includes a great new feature: "Adds an optional feature to enable receiving Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 updates on Windows XP SP3." Thanks @CIACIACIACIACIACIA and @mina7601! Although I only updated the download link a few days ago, there is already a new version 1.4 with an interesting new feature. Ok! I will therefore update the link directly in my post.
  12. @legacyfan! And one more for you: wsusoffline updates for eol windows: https://archive.org/details/wsusoffline-eol-windows Greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper
  13. Hello @legacyfan!Truth be told, it's easy to find Windows XP Professional SP3 32 Bit Update Packs for German Editions. But for English versions, there are a few sources, too. Here are some of them I found after a short research: Onepiece XP Post-SP3 AIO Update Pack FINAL: https://ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6438 Windows XP Updates (WSUS Offline): https://archive.org/details/wsusoffline-wxp-enu_final Kind regards, AstroSkipper
  14. The program LegacyUpdate 1.2.1 has been updated and is now available in version 1.3. I'll update my original post, too. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  15. Update notification! The Root Certificates have been updated and are now from 29-11-2022. Here is a screenshot: Therefore, my self-created, offline Root Certificate Updaters in the section 11.2.4. Downloads related to Root Certificate Updates (in the first post of this thread) will also be updated as soon as possible. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  16. Hello @xrayer! First of all, you should not forget that Mypal 68 is still in development, and the version 68.12.5b is in beta stage. Therefore, I would expect a lot of BSODs although I never had one. Did you post your problem in the issues of Mypal 68 on Github? Issues of Mypal 68 That's actually a better place to get help. There were already opened different issues about BSODs, and as far as I know, @feodor2 is generally interested in the data of them. Here is a quotation of @feodor2's instructions if a blue screen occurs: Kind regards, AstroSkipper
  17. Why do you post a link to my thread about extensions and custom buttons for UXP browsers? @verta looks for a thread about installing extensions manually in Chrome browsers due to the topic of this thread. And he already got two correct answers above. The following equation with the Boolean truth value true applies: UXP browser ≠ Chrome browser
  18. I have an old Pentium 4 with only 1.5 GB RAM, and I play all videos in VLC with the help of the extension VLC Youtube Shortcut 0.8.3.2 to avoid the mainly cumbersome YouTube site for many well-known reasons. To search for YouTube videos, I use the website Invidious which is an open source alternative front-end to YouTube and can be used multilingually. This is my favourite for old, low-powered computers. Truth be told, this topic has already been discussed very often in this forum, though.
  19. Thanks for your appreciation! But unfortunately, others and me can't see it in my posts above ... If you don't understand what I wrote about the valuation of technical contents (which is a kind of support of authors), why don't you use an online translation service? For example, DeepL? The English I wrote was crystal clear. Anyway! The fact that I even have to mention this grievance in terms of valuation should actually not really be necessary ... By the way, a restart feature is trivial and easy to implement into my toggle button. I already did it, and the modified toggle button works perfectly.
  20. Ok! Very good! My statement was: Your answer is: What do you think? What can you do here to support an author of a thread with technical contents, to show him your genuine interest, to appreciate his work he has already done, and to ensure that he is motivated to continue all this and make him generating new, requested code for someone with whom he has never had contact, especially if he shares his work for free? Truth be told, this kind of support I mean has unfortunately diminished a lot or has always been sparse for real work with technical content and is, however, made in droves for every inanity or, rather, for every crap, especially non-technical one, in this forum nowadays. And what I mean, of course, should only be done if the technical contents of this author are also worth it. Any ideas?
  21. That's really great! I think the same way, too. I love my old custom buttons. So we have a common interest. Perhaps, also a bit of a soul mate!
  22. No. The real problem is that the legacy extension Custom Buttons is targeting the UXP browsers and is not a webextension which is actually required for installing in Mypal 68. Exactly! In any case, the extension Custom Buttons 0.0.5.8.9.6-fixed8 can't be installed in Mypal 68. What you see in my provided screenshot as proof, is another, special, modified version of Custom Buttons, and additional changes have to be made in the confoguration of Mypal 68, too. Anyway! I posted my find or "news" more than one week ago, but I haven't seen any genuine interest so far. You are the first one who expresses such an interest. Thanks for that! In any case, it will still need a bit more time as I am not in the best of health at the moment. And, I never post a solution that has not actually been tested. Not to mention that I would be happy if more members were interested, of course. But, as I like to say, hope dies last!
  23. I read your first post again and noticed some misunderstandings. The extension Custom Buttons, which I uploaded here, is required for installing custom buttons, but itself cannot toogle anything. For toggling a Boolean variable, you need to install one of my custom buttons Toggle CSP or Toggle media.autoplay.enabled and have to modify its code which you already seem to have done such as described in this post: And, it definitely works. I know that because I've created and tested these custom buttons. Just to clarify, you won't find any documents about these custom buttons even if the old custom buttons forum was still alive. These buttons never existed before. I created them, saved them as an XML file and uploaded them for my readers. And now, you would appreciate additional code for an immediate, automatical restart of Serpent 52 after toggling the variable browser.tabs.remote.force-enable using my custom button. You need this restart to apply the toggled setting in terms of the multiprocess mode. And, you like the extension Custom Buttons, my self-created custom buttons for toggling a Boolean variable and maybe, this thread, too. Am I right so far? Cheers, AstroSkipper
  24. I checked my browsers referring to the pref browser.tabs.remote.force-enable. In New Moon 28, it is locked. Therefore, it can't be toggled there. In Serpent 52, Serpent 55 and Firefox 52.9.0 ESR, this pref doesn't exist at all. So, I have to ask you in which browser you actually want to toggle this pref. Or, did you create this pref yourself in Serpent or Firefox? Anyway! I do have a solution to implement minimal code for an immediate, automatical restart of New Moon or Pale Moon and a bit more code in the case of Firefox or Serpent (Basilisk) after toggling a Boolean pref. But first, I need an answer and some more detailed information about your configuration (browser, OS). Also I should mention that I don't use multi-process mode, and my system is Windows XP Professionaö SP3 + POSReady 32Bit with a single-core CPU. At the moment, I can test it only on this machine. Kind regards, AstroSkipper
