If you want to use a stable browser then I recommend Brave.

Since when is the browser Brave compatible with Windows XP? :dubbio:AFAIK, the developer have neither supported this OS nor they'll do that in future times.

Oh I thought that this version is not yet ready for use on Xp.

Take a look into the provided archive! The proxy ProxyMII does its job perfectly, but its handling is not as easy as in case of ProxHTTPSProxy. There are no typical executables in form of exe files. But it definitely works, and we now have TLS 1.3 in Windows XP itself. :cheerleader: Unfortunately, the package is quite undocumented. For me, it isn't a problem, whether it is a problem for other users, I don't know. The proxy 3proxy I haven't tested yet, but I'll do that next, of course. But, so far, I am totally happy.  internet2.gif

    Greetings.

More than year ago i'd compiled OpenSSL3.0.0 for WinXP and build on it base two MITM proxy for TLS1.3 - ProxHTTPSProxy+Python3.7 (port 8079) and 3proxy+SSLPlugin (port 3128).

Hi @cmalex, thank you very much for your reply  and your download link! I've taken a short look into it, and I have two questions. The version ProxyMII is written in Python, it has not been compiled to an executable exe file, and the proxy has to be executed by proxymii.bat. Is that correct? If so, could it be compiled to exe files? I would like to integrate it in my ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu, only with your permission, and credits to you, of course. In this case, a compiled version would be perfect and presumably, necessary, too. I am not familiar with Python, and therefore, I never compiled Python code, either. jexplique.gif But, first of all, many thanks again for your report here and your proxies! smilie-schild-025.gif

Hi @cmalex, I tested your proxy ProxyMII last night! And I am enthusiastic!  coool.gif It works as it should be. And you are great! :worship: You disabled TLS 1.0 and 1.1 protocol due to security reasons. Is that correct? I provided screenshots of my tests in the posts before. I think I could implement this proxy in my ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu as it is, but in case of having compiled exe files, the proxy would be much easier to control. And the RAM consumption would probably also be somewhat lower. What do you think? :dubbio:

  4. Hi to all interested members or visitors, I've tested a bit the ProxyMII version, created by @cmalex. And what should I say, it works. goodjob.gif What does that mean? This ProxHTTPSProxy+Python3.7 version can establish a TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 connection to different servers or secure websites in Windows XP. ssupercool2.gif Here is a screenshot of browserleaks.com when using this proxy in Iceape-UXP:

    Proxy-MII-browserleaks-ssl-2022-07-15.pn

    :cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader:

TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 has been disabled, presumably for security reasons. The proxy settings have to be set manually or using ProxySwitch.bat.

Does this mean that there will then also be Tls 1.3 support for Xp? Do I see that right? That would be great!:cheerleader:

As I always say, hope dies last! First, I'll test these proxies, and then we'll see what they do, and how they work. Maybe, a compilation to exe files is possible in the case of ProxyMII. But, you should never praise the day before the evening! You are a German, too, you know what I mean. Anyway, it would be great to have TLS 1.3 system-wide or local wherever it'd be needed in Windows XP. yes-us.gif

    Regards,

anyone know how to enable html5 or use old plugin (silverlight) with chromium or firefox (mypal 68)

    on Netflix getting error: M7701-1003

    see: help.netflix.com/es-es/node/27451

funny thing is Mypal 29.2.1 plays netflix but no newer versions

Any ideas to fix this issues ?

    My Best Regards

In Mypal 68, you can check in about:config the variables media.mediasource.enabled and media.mediasource.webm.enabled if they are set to true. And there are three more variables beginning with media.mediasource. Maybe, it helps.

  8. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not a Python programmer. I have never learned or used this programming language. So, as long as there is no one taking a look into the provided source code of ProxHTTPSProxy and giving their assessment, nothing further can be done in this project, unfortunately. Just a reminder! Anyway, hope dies last!

Yes, I also have this showing up too in my registry. Even then, I don't think it's some sort of telemetry, at least in my opinion.

    also have that registry item.

@mina7601, @dmiranda, thanks for your confirmation! @mina7601, you are right. These entries don't seem to contain any kind of telemetry.

    Here are my entries:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2\Mypal]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2\Mypal\Launcher]
    "c:\\Portable\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Image"=dword:62a1c659
    "c:\\Portable\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Telemetry"=dword:00000000
    "C:\\Portable\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Browser"=hex(b):00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00

Other registry keys, belonging to Mypal 68, I couldn't find after searching in my registry editor. jumelles.gif

@XPerceniol, you can see I do have an entry belonging to the telemetry with a value of 0. This means the telemetry has been disabled. In your case, this registry entry does not even exist. Therefore, all is good, nothing to worry about.

    Cheers, AstroSkipper kaffeepc.gif

PS: And, from now on, one would probably have to set the Boolean truth value of the following equation to true:

    Theodor2 = Feodor2

    Quick question:

Even running it with no remote, do others have this show up in the registry?

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2\Mypal]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2\Mypal\Launcher]
    "C:\\Program Files\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Image"=dword:62a1c659
    "C:\\Program Files\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Browser"=hex(b):90,ec,26,3a,b7,15,00,00
    "C:\\Program Files\\Mypal\\mypal\\mypal.exe|Image"=dword:62a1c659
    "C:\\Program Files\\Mypal\\mypal\\mypal.exe|Browser"=hex(b):af,f6,3d,c3,30,17,\
      00,00

Is this some sort of telemetry?

Mypal 68 is not a portable browser. It creates a profile folder outside the main program directory and registry keys, too. Maybe, Feodor's real name is Theodor! I'll check for Mypal's registry keys, too, when I start my desktop computer the next time. But, don't worry, keep cool! Feodor2 is a good guy. bronzer.gif

  11. @George King, maybe, this may help you to distribute your archive with language files: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/deploying-firefox-language-packs
In this article, altough targeting an enterprise environment, a directory called distribution and a policy called RequestedLocales is mentioned. Maybe, it helps.

Yes, no touch needed, but I found XPIs must be placed in both folders browser\extensions + chrome\extensions, otherwise nothing happends.

So If anybody want, here is updated silent SFX installer. Contains all 24 languages in which were XP released + Adblock. Mypal is installed to %ProgramFiles%\Mypal + Desktop and Start Menu shortcuts are created.

For future updating, just open EXE with WinRAR and update all files from newer Mypal release. This installer is must have for my XP2ESD project where will be included.

Now I need to find out how to enable language pack to switch language, seems like nothing happends after click on "Enable"

    https://www.mediafire.com/file/opvx7nwirymkofz/Mypal-all.exe/file

Thanks for your information! I thought you needed it for private use. Enabling an installed language was no problem for me in Mypal 68.12.4b. But don't forget Mypal 68 is still under development, maybe a reason you have got problems, especially in preconfiguring such an archive. For example, Internationalization & Localization has not been implemented yet.

  13. I can confirm that VirusTotal's new interface fails again. :realmad: A file can be uploaded, the service seems to check the hash, but this checking is never coming to an end. No hash of the file is shown.  Tested in New Moon 28.10.6a1, latest build from 2022-07-06 with installed palefill 1.16.  I already reported it in the issues of palefill on GitHub. In Mypal 68, it doesn't work anymore, either.

I finally managed it. Instead browser\extensions it must be Chrome\extensions. Then Mypal see plugins as installed without user touch :)

Copying the XPI files to the folder Chrome\extensions is enough? No editing of a file necessary? :dubbio:I didn't preconfigure one of these browsers in the past. I have not needed this so far. What about my suggestion to integrate a fully configured profile folder? Of course, you have to edit the file profile.ini to your needs in such a case, using relative paths only.

  15. 1 hour ago, XPerceniol said:

Wondering myself. I canceled the download after realizing it is not a zip (per usual) and I would need to verify this is correct.

Hi @XPerceniol, SFX files are compressed archives that have been combined with an executable module, allowing Windows users to extract the archive's files without a decompression program. Additionaly, a script can be created and injected to perform during unpacking different actions. Such an archive can be unpacked in the same way as in the case of a ZIP file, too. (You can see the English lesson has paid off, Lol :P).

  16. 23 minutes ago, George King said:

Mypal doesn't see them and they still must be installed manually.

No one has told Mypal that there are extensions to install. What about an integration of a preconfigured profile folder, containing all wanted extensions, into the Mypal program folder? Then you create your repack version. It would be a bit more portable with Adblock and your preferred language onboard.

  17. 36 minutes ago, George King said:

@AstroSkipper How can I add language pack + Adblock to my SFX Mypal 68 repack (basic SFX created using WinRAR)? Is there any chance, how to make it as default? I tried to place adblockultimate@adblockultimate.net.xpi langpack-cs@firefox.mozilla.org.xpi in various folders, but without success. Where should I put them so they can be directly used in first launch?

Hi @George King, what should this SFX Mypal repack do? The versions, created by Feodor2, are only zip archives which have to be unpacked.
