  1. There's always AMD...
  2. What do you mean by "upgrade from UURollup-v10d"? Did you install UURollup-v10d over the latest weekly? This is not going to work... UURollup-v10d can be installed only over UURollup-v10c (or any older release). The current daily and weekly releases of UURollup-v11 use a completely different set of files (UURollup-v10(x) uses WB kernel while UURollup-v11(x) uses BWC kernel) so you can't install the older version over the new ones. If you're using the weekly or daily versions of UURollup-v11 then UURollup-v10d is NOT for you. It's targeted at people who have been using UURollup-v10c and want to stick with stable versions only.
  3. Let's wait for BlackWingCat's answer. I've got no idea why it only works with Japanese locale
  4. The website is still not available... Just in case this is an alternative address: http://tomasz86.zxq.net There are a lot of changes this time so make sure you check the changelog. I'll just list the most important ones: UURollup-v10d released (bug fixes & Application Compatibility Launcher added). Information about Application Compatibility Launcher and instructions about how to use it added to the main page. Programs section reorganised (updated and URLs tidied up). Updates List for HFSLIP updated. UURollup has been added and the English-only unofficial updates included in UURollup have been removed. Global (multilanguage) updates and updates available in more than one language are still available. Superseded updates are now hidden by default on the Updates List. About / Changelog section updated.
  5. New information!!! Silverlight works when system locale is set to Japanese! It does not work when it's different than Japanese.
  6. Why don't you slipstream the AHCI driver into Windows 2000 too? It's no different than XP, isn't it?
  7. This is very strange Could you upload the image again? I mean the one which you have just tested (without any new changes)?
  8. Just a quick update: UURollup-v10d is ready and available to download from the Archive. Actually I've updated the website but it's not working now because it's being checked "for malicious content" I hope it will work again soon.
  9. I know Iron (and Comodo Dragon, CoolNovo and the original Chromium). I'm also aware about the points mentioned here although the ones related to functionality (adblocking, new tab page, etc.) don't really matter for me as I use extensions which replace the default functions. As for privacy, I'm not really sure whether I should be concerned about Chrome's tracking that much. Google probably gets much more information about me when I use its search engine anyway Edit: Just to clarify: my main browser is Firefox. I use Chrome as a secondary (alternative) browser. Firefox is so much more customisable and there are still more useful extensions for it... but Chrome is just fast! and offers synchronisation of not only basic user data but also extensions (Firefox doesn't).
  10. It's very unlikely (why would they use a customised driver for LAN and sound card?). They are just the standard Realtek drivers. It's (almost) always better to use the newest version of drivers from the manufacturer website, not the drivers listed by Gigabyte simply because the ones listed by Gigabyte are usually not updated very often (if ever).
  11. I've found a kind of "workaround" for the javascript popup issue. You can install the ScriptNo extension and just disable javascript when you know that the window is going to appear, ex. before deleting a message on MSFN. You will be able to delete it even with javascript disabled. After that you can re-enable javascript. I personally experienced this problem only on two websites - on MSFN when deleting private messages and on SkyDrive when trying to cancel transfer of multiple files. Other than that I don't remember other sites with this issue so I'm guessing that these scripts aren't that widely used. By the way, I like this theme for Chrome Windows Classic 9x 1.2
  12. Hmm, I'll try to set up a VMWare machine. Is this instruction still viable? http://blog.livedoor.jp/blackwingcat/archives/1310662.html
  13. You add them where it says "Hotfixes, Add-ons and Update Packs"
  14. Use these addons: All MS VC++ 2005/2008/2010 Redistributables: Ricks-YumeYao_MicrosoftVC78910RuntimeLibraries_Addon_2_1_5.7z and .NET Frameworks: .NET 2.0-3.0-3.5 GDR/QFE TRUE addons xp/2k3 .NET 4.0 TRUE addon xp/2k3/Vista/7 x86
  15. It is the latest version of Gurgelmeyer's USP5.1 (the ones available at Softpedia and MajorGeeks are older). No, you still need to install it. IE6 files are responsible for Windows Explorer. nLite is out of question here. You need to use HFSLIP if you wan to slipstream these packages. The instructions which I gave you above are about manual installation. If you want to prepare a slipstreamed source then you can download my HFSLIP package here (it's being uploaded right now), copy your Win2k source files to the "SOURCE" folder and just run the script. All the other required updates are already there so you don't need to add anything to it. Impossible. Only HFSLIP can slipstream UURollup. After the script has finished you can just use nLite to add the ASMedia SATA driver to the source ("SOURCESS" folder) and make a new ISO file from it.
  16. Thank you. I've installed it but unfortunately it hasn't made any difference. Silverlight still doesn't work I use VirtualBox 1.5.6, not VMWare. I hope it's not a problem for you. I've uploaded my VDI file here (VirtualBox_test.7z).
  17. In XP those three languages are tied with one another and you can't remove them separately, ex. if you decide to keep Japanese then nLite will also not remove the two others (it's different in 2K where you can remove them one by one). @KapnJackSparrow Is there any practical reason why you want to remove the languages? It doesn't really cause any harm to just keep them all unless it's a computer with a very small HDD.
  18. This program is very useful when setting your own file associations: PortableFileAssociator You can set and remove them in one click and there's also an option to save the settings permanently (by default they are removed once the application has been closed). It may take some time to define all of the extensions at the beginning but once set up you can restore them anytime very easily.
  19. Couldn't you just add new registry entries for those extensions? This is what shmedia.dll adds: [version] signature="$CHICAGO$" [RegDll] AddReg=Registry [UnregDll] DelReg=Registry [Registry] HKCR,"SystemFileAssociations\.wma\shellex\PropertyHandler",,,%CLSID_AudioMediaProperties% HKCR,"SystemFileAssociations\.mp3\shellex\PropertyHandler",,,%CLSID_AudioMediaProperties% HKCR,"SystemFileAssociations\.wmv\shellex\PropertyHandler",,,%CLSID_VideoMediaProperties% HKCR,"SystemFileAssociations\.asf\shellex\PropertyHandler",,,%CLSID_VideoMediaProperties% HKCR,"SystemFileAssociations\.wav\shellex\PropertyHandler",,,%CLSID_AVWavProperties% HKCR,"SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shellex\PropertyHandler",,,%CLSID_AVAviProperties% HKCR,"SystemFileAssociations\.dvr-ms\shellex\PropertyHandler",,,%CLSID_VideoMediaProperties% HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AudioMediaProperties%",,,"Audio Media Properties Handler" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AudioMediaProperties%\InProcServer32",,%REGEXSZ%,"%_SYS_MOD_PATH%" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AudioMediaProperties%\InProcServer32","ThreadingModel",,"Both" HKLM,"%SMWCVSEA%","%CLSID_AudioMediaProperties%",,"Audio Media Properties Handler" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_VideoMediaProperties%",,,"Video Media Properties Handler" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_VideoMediaProperties%\InProcServer32",,%REGEXSZ%,"%_SYS_MOD_PATH%" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_VideoMediaProperties%\InProcServer32","ThreadingModel",,"Both" HKLM,"%SMWCVSEA%","%CLSID_VideoMediaProperties%",,"Video Media Properties Handler" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AVWavProperties%",,,"Wav Properties Handler" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AVWavProperties%\InProcServer32",,%REGEXSZ%,"%_SYS_MOD_PATH%" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AVWavProperties%\InProcServer32","ThreadingModel",,"Both" HKLM,"%SMWCVSEA%","%CLSID_AVWavProperties%",,"Wav Properties Handler" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AVAviProperties%",,,"Avi Properties Handler" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AVAviProperties%\InProcServer32",,%REGEXSZ%,"%_SYS_MOD_PATH%" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AVAviProperties%\InProcServer32","ThreadingModel",,"Both" HKLM,"%SMWCVSEA%","%CLSID_AVAviProperties%",,"Avi Properties Handler" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AVMidiProperties%",,,"Midi Properties Handler" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AVMidiProperties%\InProcServer32",,%REGEXSZ%,"%_SYS_MOD_PATH%" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_AVMidiProperties%\InProcServer32","ThreadingModel",,"Both" HKLM,"%SMWCVSEA%","%CLSID_AVMidiProperties%",,"Midi Properties Handler" ; CLSID_VideoThumbnail HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_VideoThumbnail%",,,"Video Thumbnail Extractor" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_VideoThumbnail%\InProcServer32",,%REGEXSZ%,"%_SYS_MOD_PATH%" HKCR,"CLSID\%CLSID_VideoThumbnail%\InProcServer32","ThreadingModel",,"Apartment" HKLM,"%SMWCVSEA%","%CLSID_VideoThumbnail%",,"Video Thumbnail Extractor" HKCR,".mpeg\ShellEx\%IID_IExtractImage%",,,%CLSID_VideoThumbnail% HKCR,".mpe\ShellEx\%IID_IExtractImage%",,,%CLSID_VideoThumbnail% HKCR,".mpg\ShellEx\%IID_IExtractImage%",,,%CLSID_VideoThumbnail% HKCR,".asf\ShellEx\%IID_IExtractImage%",,,%CLSID_VideoThumbnail% HKCR,".asx\ShellEx\%IID_IExtractImage%",,,%CLSID_VideoThumbnail% HKCR,".avi\ShellEx\%IID_IExtractImage%",,,%CLSID_VideoThumbnail% HKCR,".wmv\ShellEx\%IID_IExtractImage%",,,%CLSID_VideoThumbnail% [Strings] REGEXSZ = 0x00020000 SMWCVSEA = "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Approved" IID_IExtractImage = "{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}" CLSID_AudioMediaProperties = "{875CB1A1-0F29-45de-A1AE-CFB4950D0B78}" CLSID_VideoMediaProperties = "{40C3D757-D6E4-4b49-BB41-0E5BBEA28817}" CLSID_AVWavProperties = "{E4B29F9D-D390-480b-92FD-7DDB47101D71}" CLSID_AVAviProperties = "{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}" CLSID_AVMidiProperties = "{A6FD9E45-6E44-43f9-8644-08598F5A74D9}" CLSID_VideoThumbnail = "{c5a40261-cd64-4ccf-84cb-c394da41d590}"
  20. Where can you find it? M$ links to the April 2012 version on their website: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931125
  21. Do you mean this?
  22. There will be one file called Unofficial SP 5.2 for Windows 2000, sometime next year At the moment, to make it very simple, you can just install: USP5.1 from here (w2ksp51.7z) KB2722913 Update Rollup 2 the latest daily of UURollup-v11 (available in the Archive). The system won't be fully updated but these are the basic requirements to be able to use some of the XP drivers and run new applications. As for the ASMedia SATA drivers, you need scsiport.sys 5.0.2195.7072 (included in the latest daily release of UURollup). Also the official driver won't install as it is because the INF file doesn't support Win2k but you can use my modified version available here. In one word, install first the packages listed above and then you'll be able to use the ASMedia drivers.
  23. Don't even try to replace ntdll.dll with an older version. It's not that some applications will not work. The system itself will actually NOT boot
  24. I'm kind of clueless about this issue. Could you give me exact instructions how to reproduce the error? Does the program work correctly after removing UURollup?
  25. At the moment, if you absolutely must use Silverlight then I recommend to uninstall the version of UURollup which you're using now and install daily v11d120911. Silverlight (both 4.x and 5.x) should work with it properly. Actually I'm 100% sure that it's something with ntdll.dll because I did test it by comparing dailies v11d120911 and v11d120915. Unfortunately kernel32.dll and other files are also dependent on it so it's impossible to keep the old version of ntdll.dll with the new versions of the other files.
