  1. A while back, I made some userbars honoring The Beatles. So that they would be a "set", I made and scrolled the images as ovals, and I used fade-in/fade-out cycling texts, as shown below: John Lennon quotes: "Life is what happens while you are making other plans." "Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted." "If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal." “Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears.” Paul McCartney quotes: “And, in the end The love you take is equal to the love you make.” “I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird.” “Sadness isn't sadness. It's happiness in a black jacket. Tears are not tears. They're balls of laughter dipped in salt. Death is not death. It's life that's jumped off a tall cliff.” “Think globally, act locally.” George Harrison quotes:“If you don't know where you're going, any road'll take you there.” “It's being here now that's important. There's no past and there's no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is ever, is the now." “It's all in the mind.” “With every mistake, we must surely be learning.” “As long as you hate, there will be people to hate.” Ringo Starr quotes: Reporter's question, 1964: "How do you find America?" Ringo's answer: "Turn left at Greenland.” “Of course I'm ambitious. What's wrong with that? Otherwise you sleep all day.” “Everything government touches turns to crap.” "I had no schooling before I joined The Beatles and no schooling after The Beatles. Life is a great education.” Jokes about The Beatles: Q: Why did the Beatles cross the Abbey road? A: To make some really good music, of course. Q: What year did Paul McCartney write silly love songs?A: 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, ... Q: What was the last thing Ringo said before he was fired? A: Hey guys, I got some songs I just wrote. If Yoko Ono gives you herpes is it Strawberry Fields Forever? Q: What did the boy octopus say to the girl octopus? A: I want to hold your hand hand hand hand hand hand hand hand. Q: What do you call towels in the bathroom? A: John linen Q: Which of the Beatles lives in Australia? A: Dingo Starr! Q: Which Beatles song is about their favorite vegetable? A: Peas Please Me! Q: What is a pig's least favorite Beatles song? A: I wanna hold your ham Q: How can you say all of the Beatles' names in one sentence?? A: "By George, said Paul while sitting on the John, where'd my Ringo (ring go)?"
  2. @j7n: I don't know if this will help or not: I use Photoshop 5.0, which doesn't sharpen on downsizing -- at least, as far as I can tell. The downsized image always looks *a little* blurrier than the original -- but clarity can be restored with sharpening. Personally, I'm a sharpening "freak". I usually sharpen an image -- by using Unsharp Mask -- multiple times to get it as clear as possible -- before the sharpening, itself, starts to deteriorate the image. Of course, I play with the options (%, Radius, and Threshold) if I really want to get particular with the sharpening. I usually use, as my "default" settings: Amount=50%, Radius=1.0 pixel, and Threshold=0 levels. I often play only with the Amount, using 25%, or even less, to get a more "gentle" sharpening.
  3. @Tripredacus: Your new signature is absolutely stunningly beautiful !!! It easily transcends the category "Signature" and passes into the category "Fine Art". You did a great job. I'm impressed !!! Larry
  4. @Vinca: Since I saw your Slick I.d.i.o.t. post, I've been listening-to/watching a bunch of their YouTube videos. Love the group. The music is great and the videos are always in-you-face funny. What I like best, though, are the graphics in their videos. They give me a whole lot of ideas to incorporate into my paintings. Thanks again, Larry
  5. @Vinca: "I've Got the Power", by Snap, is a timeless classic. I never get tired of hearing it. Every time I hear it, it increases my funky-in-your-face-attitude quotient by 40 points. Now, I'm listening to "You're O.K.", by Ottawan, the duo who absolutely rules my disco-happy-but-confused universe.
  6. Thanks, Vinca, for turning me on to Slick I.d.i.o.t. I had never heard of that band before. Merci Beaucoup -- a great clip. Loved it!!! I'm gonna check out more of their stuff. Larry Also, Flasche, Archangel Great instrumental clip. Very uplifting!!! Loved the picture on the video box. Thanks
  7. A song I never get tired of listening to -- from 1996, Gina G, "Ooh Ahh...Just A Little Bit"
  8. Yes, ROTS once I attempted a blind shutdown, and they fell off the window frame and they broke when they hit the floor. ain't a gonna attempt it again 'cause now i don't got no blinds covering my window, and the moonlight shining thru my window keeps me awake at nite. My advice to everyone on this forum: never, never, never attempt a blind shutdown 'cause you might wind up like me. This public-service announcement is provided by larryb123456
  9. @jaclaz: Above your avatar, shown here: you put "The Finder". But I don't think that you should call yourself that, since you were unable to find a good avatar for yourself. Just kidding, of course. I've said this to you before, but my humorous (?) comments bear repeating. My humor (?) is like diarrhea -- I just can't hold it in. But, really, my avatar ain't much better than yours. I was Confused (but Happy) when I made it, and that was the best I could do. larryb123456 criticizing jaclaz at every possible opportunity lol
  10. From the outset, I wanted my animated signature to be more about "Reality" than about some dude juggling question marks. So I revised the signature in my last post, as shown here: I'm finally satisfied with it, and I no longer feel that I have to explain that the image is about Graphics *and* Reality. I feel that this thought is now more obvious in the revised signature.
  11. I recently changed my MSFN signature to the static image you see at the very bottom of this post. I'm a member of another forum which allows animations in signatures, so, this morning, I made a different version, an animated GIF, to use there: The image has to do with Graphics Reality, of course, but it also has to do with Graphics *and* Reality Ain't that what "Life" mostly consists of -- always juggling questions -- even questions that are "backwards" and don't make any sense. (lol) submitted and approved by larryb123456 Pee Wee Herman Howdy Doody and 654321byrral not the "dynamic duo" but the "pathetic quadruplets"
  12. but my favorite "Day" is Multiple Personality Day, celebrated on March 5, http://www.holidayinsights.com/moreholidays/March/multipersonday.htm wonder why that one is my favorite (?) respectfully submitted, larryb123456 and 654321byrral P.S. "654321byrral" is a countdown to "byrral"
  13. Thanks, jaclaz. Regarding Towel Day: I won't be able to celebrate that one.... 'cause I threw in the towel long ago.
  14. Thanks, jaclaz, for that very interesting information. I honestly didn't know that there is a Pi Day. I'm gonna celebrate it on 3/14 at 1:59.26535... 2 times: once in the a.m. and once in the p.m. P.S. You continue to amaze me with the breadth and depth of your intelligent posts...and your funny posts, too. Thanks.
  15. Thanks, tain, I do believe you're correct. In the future, I'll have my other BFF, Howdy Doody, shown below, write all my posts for me. He's much, much more intelligent than me.
  16. @tain: If the truth be told, I think Pee Wee Herman has been making most of my posts............when I was asleep.
  17. After much careful thought, my BFF, Pee Wee Herman, shown below, came up with a very complicated mathematical expository, and to honor that accomplishment, I made a userbar celebrating his unparalleled genius. This post was made to advance human knowledge.......for the benefit of all mankind.submitted by and approved by larryb123456
