  1. The best song Johnny Nash ever recorded, "Hold Me Tight". I could watch that dancin' threesome in the background all day long. L A R R Y

  3. @LostInSpace2014: Joy Division divided by Division equals Joy. Can't beat that, can you!!! If you perform that mathematical operation 10 times, you'll be covered in Joy Joy Joy Joy Joy Joy Joy Joy Joy Joy but then, you'll have to clean yourself with JoyTM dishwashing liquid to get all the stickiness off. I just collapsed all the probabilistic Joy wave functions to transform them from waves into particles: L A R R Y
  4. @LostInSpace2014: No, I didn't see "Blast from the Past", but I did see "Deep Impact", a fantastic movie, IMO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Impact_%28film%29 @Flasche: Thanks for the suggestion. I'll be sure to put a dumbrella over my house. Nylon, not polyester, 'cause nylon be much stronger and me wants all the protection me can get
  5. I added LostInSpace2012 as a friend. My avatar shows up in his profile but his avatar does not show up in my profile. ????????????????????? I have the box unchecked that says "Allow me to approve members before they're added as a friend" LostInSpace2012 went to my profile, and it said, "Remove me as a friend". The computer says we're friends, but the avatar icons don't. Can you fix it so that his avatar shows up in my profile? Thanks, Larry
  6. Great, great informational posts about a real concern. It's just a matter of time. Very interesting. Thanks to all the posters. I've planned ahead for the big asteroid impact on my house: I have 2 large cardboard boxes -- one inside the other -- and in-between the boxes, I've filled it with bubble wrap -- and I'll crawl in the inner box when the impact is imminent. I'm pretty sure that will protect me. JUST KIDDING, OF COURSE !!! I have 3 large cardboard boxes -- with the unit made as described above.
  7. Please fall down today don't fall down today, cause it be Valentine's Day today and *also* tomorrow as well
  8. From the summer of 1961, "The Mountain's High" by Dick and Dee Dee. There are 3 things I love about this video: #1 -- the song is a classic, with a very unique sound #2 -- I love the joy Dee Dee shows, with her sincere, wide smiling throughout the song #3 -- Dick, on the left in the video, to me, looks very much like Howdy Doody. Don't you agree? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQcKB9IrvUc
  9. Since tomorrow is Valentine's Day, and since it is officially Summer, I just finished making this userbar in the "Love" category. It will make a very nice e-mail attachment to send to your sweetie. If you don't have a sweetie, e-mail it to yourself, and when you receive it, act very surprised and say, "What a wonderful person I am, for sending this great Valentine to myself." In bumble humble service to all mankind with my userbars, Larry
  10. Thank you so much, LostInSpace2012, for posting the video. I'd never heard of the band before, or, really, music being a combination of heavy metal and opera. It definitely expanded my horizons. The video was happily incredible. My favorite part was the representation of the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights. From ages 5-14, I lived in Spokane, Washington, where I witnessed, first-hand, the splendor of those lights in the northern sky many, many times. You say, "Far out, man". Very true!!! But also, "Far in, man", and encompassing all degrees in-between those two yin yang polarities. And the singer, Tarja, is absolutely beautiful: https://www.google.com/search?q=nightwish&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=9-5OU_6WKubT8gH97ICgDQ&sqi=2&ved=0CJABEIke&biw=848&bih=417#q=nightwish%20tarja&revid=1505988798&tbm=isch&imgdii=_ I'm going to make a userbar for the band featuring two images of Tarja. Here's a live performance by the band, Wishmaster:
  11. WOW, monroe, thanks for posting this. I didn't know this kind of thing was going on to *this extent*. It appears that, with ever-increasing modern technology, "Big Brother" will continue to get BIGGER BIGGER BIGGER BIGGER BIGGER.
  12. Yes, indeed, jaclaz! Regarding your spoiler image: When I have breakfast at IHOPTM, the International House of Pancakes, I always order eleven electronic brain crystal elderly pancakes, covered with fruitcake syrup, and a bottle of tequila to make the brains taste a little more yummy. Regarding "What": until you collapse in awe, joy, wonderment, and mental constipation.
  13. You are correct, tain! "What" is *definitely* wrong with you. "What" is a mysterious, mystical malady affecting millions of people, so do not be worried. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/what defines "What" as: An expression of surprise or disbelief. and they give an example of how "What" can be used in a sentence: What! That's amazing. If I may take the liberty to give other possible uses, more appropriate to my comments on this thread: What! That's the most ignorant thing I've ever read. What! That's an expression of stupidity to the n th degree. What! That's got to be something that Pee Wee Herman wrote. What! That's got to be a What!-What!-What!-What!-What! commentary about intellectual nothingness. What! That's making me wish I had an ice cream cone. What! That's a comment intertwined with the nebulousness of string theory. What! That's got to be the biggest time waster in which I've ever engaged.

  15. You're very welcome, LostInSpace2012. On many forums there are a lot of GEEKS. But certainly not on MSFN. But in case there are a couple of GEEKS here, and if they are wondering how they evolved into this mindset, this userbar will provide the answer: Added in Edit Quotes that GEEKS might appreciate: “Geeky people often have. . . . .a mind with its own heartbeat.” Garret Freymann-Weyr “Unruly geeks change the world.” Alexandra Robbins "There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't."Unknown "I'm not anti-social; I'm just not user-friendly."T-shirt "The glass is neither half-full nor half-empty: it's twice as big as it needs to be."Unknown "I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code."Unknown "When life gives you questions, Google has answers."A. J. Carpio "Better to be a nerd than one of the herd."Mandy Hale "Everyone's a nerd inside. I don't care how cool you are."Channing Tatum NERD"One whose unbridled passion for something defines who they are as a person, without fear of other people's judgement."Zachary Levi

  17. Hello, LostInSpace2012: Please see http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/152748-custom-avatars-and-signatures/page-24#entry1074743 Larry P.S. I love your Pee Wee Herman impression.
  18. Thanks, LostInSpace2012, for sending me the picture of you doing your Pee Wee Herman impression. You were correct. You do an excellent impression. If I didn't know better, I'd swear that the image was of Pee Wee, himself. So, I took your picture and quickly made an image -- MSFN maximum signature size, 380x100 px: So, do whatever you want with the image. As a suggestion: if you tie a string to it, and take it outside on a windy day, you'll find that it makes a great kite. Larry
  19. Thanks, LostInSpace2012. Why don't you take a picture of yourself doing your Pee Wee impersonation and put the pic on an interstellar background and make that your signature? I think that would be great!!! I really like the way Vincent looks in your avatar. And the phrase above him reads "Advanced Member". That's so apropos. He was certainly advanced artistically for his time, wasn't he? It's a shame that he couldn't have been appreciated for his art while he was alive. He was such a tortured soul. We all can learn so much from him, in the way he managed to triumph over such adversity and remain so spiritual in the process. Of course, just use the avatar for as long as you feel like it. You don't have to use it forever. I think you made the right decision to not use the "I am spaced out" image. Larry
  20. You're very welcome, LostInSpace2012. Please know that you rock, also -- intergalactically!!!
  21. Hello, LostInSpace2012: Be sure to see my post at http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/152748-custom-avatars-and-signatures/?p=1074666 I made an avatar and signature for your consideration. Larry
  22. In my last post, I presented my "I am spaced out" userbar. I got to thinking that this image might (?) make a good signature for LostInSpace2012. So, I saved one of the frames in the animation, as shown here: Of course, LostInSpace2012 can resize it as he so wishes -- that is, if he wants to use it. I made an avatar for LostInSpace2012 that kinda goes along with the above signature: To arrive at this image, I manipulated one of Vincent van Gogh's famous self-portraits. Van Gogh was, indeed, a tortured "spaced out" -- (but in a good way, IMO) -- artistic soul, who achieved *much*, in spite of his problems. I'd be honored if LostInSpace2012 would at least "try out" this signature and avatar for a while, to see how he likes it. And I'd be infinitely honored if he would decide to keep the pair indefinitely. Larry Vincent van Gogh quotes: “Be clearly aware of the stars and infinity on high. Then life seems almost enchanted after all.” “It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.” “I dream my painting and I paint my dream.” “There is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.” “I would rather die of passion than of boredom.” “I put my heart and soul into my work, and I have lost my mind in the process.” “A great fire burns within me, but no one stops to warm themselves at it, and passers-by only see a wisp of smoke.” “I am always doing what I cannot do yet, in order to learn how to do it.”
