  1. very informative prp8683. debugging/decompiling did cross my mind but im not familiar enough with it. so for the record even if the exe was further encrypted using another program, you could still look for the decryption of the password?
  2. post the memory timings. and resent bios to defaults.
  3. awesome video! fires up ut2004 B)
  4. i dont think thats funny. i thought this was going to be one with the kid on xbox live screaming with his mom over chocolate milk.
  5. people who want the internet delivered to them are going to stick with IE AOL etc, and theres not much that can be done about those people. people that want to pull the internet and tailor it for themselves are going to use more advanced browsers such as Firefox and Opera.
  6. Firefox. i did try Opera9p2 but its missing some very important features i have with Firefox. I like the bookmarks toolbar in firefox, Opera does not have this. You can manually add you bookmarks to the personal bar, even so the favicons do not work. Major Annoyance. I use the NoScript and CookieButton extension. Opera added site specific support in its latest beta, but its alot more work than using NoScript and CookieButton. TabMixPlus, i really use this extension to customize how firefox displays tabs and their behaviors. I have found no similiar functionality in Opera. Opera wins in speed, memory usage, and smooth scrolling. Otherwise Firefox ftw
  7. this cant be from ms.
  8. i use foxitreader, and if i really need acrobat its the ryanvm repack i use.
  9. Sandboxie 2.25 Released Released 2 February 2006. Introducing a new and improved Sandboxie Installer, which allows program updates without a removal first, and is also functional when running in Safe Mode. Resolved a conflict with Kerio Personal Firewall, version 4, that would cause Sandboxie to crash the entire system. Fixed a problem where certain updates to the registry could, occasionally, cause a program to hang with 100% CPU utilization. Forcing programs to run sandboxed will not run them in the weak sandbox mode. (Weak mode is a feature in development.) The fix was available since 12 January 2006 as a separate download. Programs (particularly IE) no longer crash on Windows 2000 when dragging files to the desktop. Configuration for Outlook Express allows mailbox files to be accessed in the "AppData" folder as well as "Local AppData". Fixed error message SBOX1406, SBOX1117. Get Sandboxie from the Download area.

  20. still the best all in one. Only disadvantage to bitdefender is the number of running processes: BitDefender 9 Internet Security: ==================== Process...............Working Set ==================== bdss.exe..............21,232 xcommsvr.exe.......3,124 bdnagent.exe............920 bdmcon.exe..........16,324 livesrv.exe..............4,392 vsserv.exe............18,116 bdoesrv.exe...........1,640 ==================== TOTAL...................65,748 ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 6.1.737.000: ==================== Process.............Working Set ==================== vsmon.exe............24,472 isafe.exe...............10,992 zlclient.exe..............4,296 ==================== TOTAL...................39,760 ZoneAlarm SecuritySuite used less processes (3) and less total ram (40MB) however its a bit more buggy and the anti-virus doesnt see to detect as much. It does have better web filtering, but i reccomend K9 for that. Both are good programs though. screenshot: just want to add i dont actually use antivirus or firewall software, because i dont get viruses, spyware, etc. I do test them though before i reccomend them to others.

  25. its so easy just follow the instructions on the arctic silver webpage. http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_silver_instructions.htm alot of people suggest covereing the whole heat spreader with a thin layer. I suggest the drop on the center and let the heatsink flatten it out. I tested both methods on an SocketA, Socket754, and Socket939, and applying a drop on the center of the heatspreader and letting the heatsink flatten it is the best. It really made quite a different: several degrees celsius.
