You need to write a macro. Here's a macro that removes hyperlinks: Sub removeallhyperlinks() For Each myHyperlink In ActiveDocument.Hyperlinks myHyperlink.Delete Next myHyperlink End Sub So you need to write a similar macro. Just replace myHyperlink.Delete with the VB script to make it bold. Don't ask me how. read the help file. Sub makeboldhyperlinks() For Each myHyperlink In ActiveDocument.Hyperlinks add script to make bold Next myHyperlink End Sub

How to Install XP after Vista and Fix the Bootloader
spacesurfer replied to spacesurfer's topic in Windows Vista
Right-click "Computer" --> click on Manage. This is for XP. I can't remember if Vista is the same or they changed it; but it's "Computer Management", then go to disk management. -
How to Install XP after Vista and Fix the Bootloader
spacesurfer replied to spacesurfer's topic in Windows Vista
Ummm... then you create a new partition. I'm sure if you search, you will be able to find how to do that. Vista can create a partition using disk management console. Need administrator privileges. -
You said you were "Adding" a new HDD. If that is the case, you don't need to do anything. Just add the drive. However, I think you're replacing the old with new. In that case, the above answer might help. If you have ghost, you may ghost the installation and restore to the new drive. Or you can use TrueImage.

Vista independent recovery disc....iso download
spacesurfer replied to dumbo's topic in Windows Vista
I'm gonna have to try it out on virtual machine. -
The OP mentioned , which leads us to assume that his drive is LightScribe capable.Hummmm

Yes, it has to do with the way Vista formats the partitions - it is different that XP. Vista bootloader depends on the GUID - which is generated based on the partition beginning offset. When ghosting and recovering the ghost image, the GUID is no longer valid - hence the error. There is a way to make the vista bootloader independent of the GUID. The answer lies here in this forum somewhere....

confirmed on windows 2000.

Again, as Arie mentioned, you cannot rearrange those shortcuts. The order of those is determined by how frequently you use those programs. The most frequent to on top and least frequent go on bottom. The only way to arrange them the way you want is to right-click, then click on "Pin to Start menu". Do that for all the programs you want "Pinned". Then you can rearrange the programs you just pinned in any order you want.

If you can access files from "Computer" but not the network, you probably don't have link layer topology protocol (LLTP) installed. It's quite possible that your laptop is up to date with the latest XP updates and may have LLTP and hence can be seen by Vista, but not the desktop. Search MS website for LLTP and download and install. this will make the desktop "visible" to Vista. But again, if you type the computer name in the address bar of "Computer" using "\\computername" you should be able to access all the shared resources.

Did you install the latest drivers or did you install LightScribe host software? You need LightScribe host software installed in order for the drive to be recognized. google search for host software. or go to http://www.lightscribe.com/downloadsection...dex.aspx?id=810 and download the universal software.

Password Protect Map Network Drives & Home Folders
spacesurfer replied to mtec's topic in Windows XP
This is a broad topic. You basically need to setup permissions. First rule is to search google. There are PLENTY of sites that have tutorials on networking, setting up permissions based on user accounts, etc. -
I have a Samsung lightscribe drive and I never used it until yesterday when I bought lightscribe CD's. I was using Surething CD/DVD Labeler and it didn't recognize the drive as LightScribe (when going to New Project, lightscribe projects show up in the wizard - it wasn't for me). I looked into Nero's help as I use Nero 8 and it said to download the LightScribe program and it gave a link in the help. I downloaded it, installed it, and now Surething CD/Labeler displays it in the project wizard. I burned my first lightscribe yesterday - it's very nice and very well worth it!! So........ you might want to download newest lightscribe software from Nero's site. It's freeee. I'm not sure what the connect is between Nero's lightscribe software and Surething CD/DVD labeler, but that's what got it working without a restart!

How to make XP / Vista dual-boot Independently
spacesurfer replied to spacesurfer's topic in Windows Vista
I doesn't matter which partition is active. That is irrelevant when using Grub4Dos. If Vista is C: and XP is D:, then booting Vista will make Vista C: and booting XP will make XP D:. However, booting XP may make Vista something else, like E: but that can be changed in disk management. So, you do not need a makeactive directive. -
Fixes for Internet Explorer Downloading annoyances?
spacesurfer replied to flickshot's topic in Windows XP
Yes, it's annoying that IE will download to it's temporary internet files folder, then copy it to the folder where you want the file to end up. It doesn't have an option to download the file directly to the folder where you want it. Also, if you're downloading a big file to a folder that won't support the file, then when IE copies it after downloading, it'll stop stating file is too large and you might lose the file. I have been able to retrieve such a file from the temporary internet files folder during such a warning. You'll need a download manager as others mentioned. A good download manager will reserve the HDD space so that you won't be able to copy another file while your large file is being downloaded. -
I see. Thanks.

Woomera, the IP you mention (192.168.0.10) is your home network IP. It can't be used to connect from a remote location because someone else who has a home network may also be using that IP. This IP is NOT seen by the internet. You actual IP is the IP assigned to you by your ISP. Go to www.ipaddress.com to display your IP address. For example, when you go to www.IPaddress.com, it will show you your IP address that is seen on the internet. This is the IP you need to connect to your computer. However, in your router settings, you need to forward a port to you internal IP. So, if you have two computers in your network (192.168.0.10 and 192.168.0.11), then you need to specify in your router which IP to forward to. Which port you need to forward depends on which port the program uses. Windows Remote Desktop connection uses port 3389 as an example, so you would forward this port to the IP of the computer you want. Hopefully, this is the answer you were looking for.

A signature is the last thing that gets added to the message. Of course, it will be place after the stationery footer. Try creating a stationery that contains your signature where you would want it.

Yeah, you need to provide more info, like.. Does the printer show up when you click on print? Are you using the quick print button or the print button? If you use quick print, you wont' get a dialog - it will simply start the print process on your default printer. Use regular print button from File menu for the dialog. How many printers are installed? More than one? Are there any printer services like Adobe PDF printer? Which printer is default?

I use VistaCG as well by space???? (i can't remember the full name but it's space something; you can find it as deviant art). In my opinion, it's the best Vista look-alike theme. I've tried so many others, but there was always something annoying about them. Also, tgtsoft releases patched uxtheme.dll. They even had it patched for the beta sp3.
