2. Good news and bad news. The good news is that it is not YOUR problem. The bad news is that there is not AFAIK a way to do so in VBS (the win+r"): http://www.robvanderwoude.com/challenges.html The other key sequences are doable: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/8c6yea83(VS.85).aspx http://www.robvanderwoude.com/files/print2_vbs.txt On the other hand, the suggested AutoIt has this possibility: http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/docs/functions/Send.htm jaclaz
3. OK, actually the PCG-9536 and PCG-FX105K should be the same thing (first seems to be "internal" Sony numbering and second "official" one): http://www.com-com.co.uk/Sony/parts/PCG-9536.ihtml Sony are reknown to have drivers "problems", i.e. need specific drivers, thus installing a Linux distro, although possible may prove to be a bit complex. Read this: http://www.msfn.org/board/Cannot-access-CD...P-i-t91907.html if you have a \I386 directory on the HD, (and you should have it), it is possible to re-create an install CD from the files in it and Service Pack/Drivers files downloadable from the Internet. Open a command prompt and type in it: dir c:\ /s |FIND /I "\i386" |FIND /V /I "i386\" and press [ENTER] You should get all directories
4. The "parsing engine" seem to expect that anything in the first couple of quotes is the title. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/72671/h...command-with-sp Possibly also if the parameter(s) passed is/are enclosed in quotes could be "skipped". WV player may be an alternative: http://www.webxpace.com/software/freeware.shtml This is preferrable as the accuracy of timing of the PING command and of the actual playback time, summed up to the opening of the player may prove to be inaccurate on different machines. jaclaz
5. Hey peeps, this thread is about the evident stupidity of a teacher. Are you wishing to prove that she is not that stupid by reaching higher levels of it starting yet another Linux vs. Windows flame war? jaclaz
6. You mean an unofficial way to access..... GOOD find! Thanks fo sharing it. jaclaz
7. Just start from here: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_...s/w2knetci.html http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_...s/w2ktcpip.html http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_...s/tsttcpip.html http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_...asic-TCPIP.html Then check these (if needed) : http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_...oach-Part1.html http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_...oach-Part2.html http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_...oach-Part3.html http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_...oach-Part4.html jaclaz
8. You might want to look at the date when the article will be posted. jaclaz
9. Read this, just in case: http://www.ss64.com/nt/start.html (it could be also a "missing title" problem) jaclaz
10. Would it be possible that the 4 Gb is actually a "fake" one? Or more probably you misused the tool and "activated" only one of the two "banks" of flash. In any case the only way to recover the sticks is to running the appropriate utility with the appropriate settings. I cannot help you in this, you have to read and follow the instructions (if any) coming with the tool and experiment. Don't worry about the Vid & Pid, they can be changed back to the original ones, that is exactly one of the main uses of the Manufacturer Tools. jaclaz
11. The first one should be easy to solve, have a look on this site: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/ there are tutorials at ANY level, form beginner to expert. The other two may prove to be tricky to solve. Both appear to be related to some problems in the Registry, typically by some OTHER drivers (or Filters) conflicting with the drivers that are creating the problems (USB and CD/DVD). The machine you describe appears to be having an ATA\IDE hard disk, doesn't it? If you are willing to "dirty your hands" with editing the Registry directly, I guess it should be possible to fix them, with some patience (and with a certain amount of risk). MOST other members on the board will tell you to format and re-install the OS, and actually this could be the easiest thing to do, I personally prefer to repair systems instead of re-building them, it's more a gamble, it could be much faster or much more troublesome. Choice is up to you. In any case, I need to know whether you have a 2K CD, or a Recovery CD, or somewhere on your HD a \I386 directory, i.e. if you have the media to perform such a re-install. Also, please post exact make/model of the laptop (you will need anyway to download the appropriate drivers for that model). jaclaz
12. You are welcome. You might also be interested in this (integrating diskpart script inside batch): http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...26069&st=19 http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=126727 jaclaz
13. You may want to check your policies/ACL and Registry/Group Policies Some tools/hints: http://www.theeldergeek.com/group_policy_editor.htm http://www.gpoguy.com/Free-Group-Policy-Tools.aspx http://www.bpsoftware.com/products/BPACLer/ http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb897332.aspx http://www.411-registry-repair.com/block-u...-certain-drives Tools that you may use from your limited account to access something otherwise denied: http://www.ss64.com/nt/runas.html http://www.steelsonic.com/steelrunas.htm http://www.commandline.co.uk/sanur/ jaclaz
14.
Sorry, Jac, will pay more attention here-on-out.
No need to be sorry , just the occasion for a quick mocking jaclaz
15. If I am not mistaken "original" ZIP (and winzip) name files as: file.z01 file.z02 etc. etc. file.zip (LAST file) http://www.pkware.com/documents/casestudies/APPNOTE.TXT You should check 7zip if it has an option to follow this naming/splitting convention..... jaclaz
16. I'm sure the OP will be relieved by having his problems solved after more than 4 years... jaclaz
17. No, you can have as many migrate.inf files as many \I386, \XP01, etc. directories, but first I would check if it (hopefully) solves the problem on just the single install. jaclaz
18. Within some limits, you can also use Sketchup, which provides for animation: http://sketchup.google.com/intl/en/ the professional version should have the ability of parametric changing sizes http://sketchup.google.com/intl/en/product/gsup.html I guess that this is what "Dynamic Components are about: http://sketchup.google.com/intl/en/product/dcspro.html jaclaz
19. I have no idea , except that the "normal" USB_multiboot by default DOES NOT put the .wim in [ROOT] but in \sources where it should be. Check again the steps you took. You are clearly NOT following the given procedure, but introducing some kind of variations. Double check your BCD: http://www.msfn.org/board/vista-t114092.html&st=7 Try again following TO THE LETTER the instructions, read these: http://www.msfn.org/board/vista-t114092.html http://www.msfn.org/board/Install-Vista-USB-t111506.html post if there is anything that you do not understand. DO NOT introduce variations/changes. ASK before changing ANYTHING, detailing what you wish to change and why. jaclaz
20. To be picky, this key has NEVER been legit, i.e. NOT on a COA sticker, and not for a OEM release. (See my previous post) It was leaked - according to some sources - even BEFORE Official release of XP. I guess it's allright to post this image: Is it real or photoshopped? Who knows? Who cares? MS banned it on first occasion, i.e. XP SP1 release. It is so famous that Wikipedia has an paragraph on it in the VLK entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volume_license_key jaclaz
21. Are you competing for "shortest post on the board"? Or for "most evidently posted comment without reading previous posts"? jaclaz
22. You might be happy to know that one of the main contributors in the "install XP from USB" thingie is ilko_t, from Bulgaria. You can find some info on the procedure also in your native language: http://www.hardwarebg.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102363 jaclaz
23. Have a look at this batch code: http://209.85.129.132/search?q=cache:pPvTS...howtopic%3D3229 http://209.85.129.132/search?q=cache:SJZ9G...ost%26p%3D22320 http://209.85.129.132/search?q=cache:ptcEy...D3229%26st%3D20 (unfortunately boot-land is offline, should be back soon) jaclaz
24. The tool for Vid 1221 Pid 3234 is already on the site you mentioned: http://flashboot.ru/index.php?name=iflash http://flashboot.ru/index.php?name=Files&a...p=cat&id=14 The tool for Vid 0951 Pid 1603 is already on the site you mentioned: http://flashboot.ru/index.php?name=iflash&pagenum=2 http://forum.flashboot.ru/index.php?name=F...p=cat&id=12 sure, but unless you DETAIL what you attempted to do I have NO way to try and help you. Some questions: Are you sure the stick is seen as "Fixed"? (i.e. that cfadisk is working properly?) Did you enable the "optimize for performance": http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/archive/.../05/108205.aspx Which program Utility did you try using on it? Have you tried to format as FAT? Have you tried then using CONVERT.EXE? jaclaz
25. What about Wings3d? http://www.wings3d.com/index.php (no animation) jaclaz
