    SB16 Sound

How can I emulate a SoundBlaster16 card on Windows XP? The purpose of this would be to be able to play MIDI files and listen to them as if they were coming from a SB16 card.
  3. You know what... I have no idea, you have to ask that question to can use it (SBC or BT clients). But from what I've read, it is probably IE based.
  4. Found some more info on Google OS: http://blogs.pcworld.com/techlog/archives/000848.html http://www.kottke.org/05/08/googleos-webos
  5. Well its not about ignorance or lazyness andromeda, some people just dont care that much about computers it may come as a shock to all of us geeks lol but its true. Besides she has dial up, so it would be kind of difficult having her to install all those things by herself, and it would be impossible to do that over remote assistance when i would have to download them all. i just wish i could be there to do it in person, nothing solves these problems more than a format c: I will try to do these things when I get her online since all of this fixing will be done over remote assistance, now im having another problem cuz remote assistance isnt working, but ill fix that in the morning. once again i wanna thank you guys for the support and everything, you really helped a lot

    Windows XP

You're kidding????? They come with spyware out of the box?? But those "brand named" computers, don't they bring a XP OS CD with it? Or do they only come with a system restore CD even though you paid for the OS?
  7. ripken204 I would do that... but she's kind of far, about 6000 miles far, with a ocean in the middle of it, also she's a normal computer user, she won't understand why she would have to use Firefox.
  8. You could do what circumflatulator has said, it would fix that problem or you can go under the security tab on the properties of the folder and give and take away rights from users.
  9. Thank you DL and thank you The Rock, I will take those two you mentioned off, I'll submit the log to the category I didn't even know it existed lol, thank you guys!

  11. These softwares can be found at w**.download.com download all three, Run all three (Update them first) and then ask her to use a safer Internet Browser. I prefer Opera 8.0.2 though Firefox1.0.6 and Netscape 7.2 are good too. Problem solved. The Rock <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually I did run those three already, I ran them several times and those pop ups are still persistant, you can have your computer idle and those pop ups will pop up. The messenger service doesn't cause pop ups but thanks for mentioning it, its disabled anyway, and I can't convince her to use Firefox.
  12. A friend of mine has this problem: She gets pop ups without doing anything at all, she connects her computer to the internet and gets pop ups without doing anything. How can i fix this over remote assistance?
  13. ok, so when that release is out and the forum upgraded can you it this time?
  14. ****... You can't do anything at all can you, I'd change ISP if I were you, your is arrogant lol, no really aparently they will spy on you no matter what.
  15. Images of a so called Google OS? Found this freak of nature online, take a look http://www.grooan.com/futurefeeds/wp-content/boot.jpg http://www.grooan.com/futurefeeds/wp-content/googleOS_2.jpg http://www.grooan.com/futurefeeds/wp-content/googleOS.jpg
  16. Well my contract doesn't mention any kind of limitations imposed by the ISP, meaning hacking, spamming or anything at all, according to that document, if my ISP disconnected me for downloading or spamming they would be breaking their contract
  17. Zxian and ripken204: Do your ISP contracts stipulate that you can't spam or perform illegal activities with the service? Do you guys have such things on your ISP contracts?
  18. I was looking at some stuff in the forum and found these which could also answer the question to why piracy exists. bittorrent - disccussion Are you against piracy - poll Copy protection and limitations on Vista Windows XP, pricy OS or what? MS Genuine Advantage All threads raise important issues
  19. The same question popped up on my mind again, so prathapml... could we have forum skins please?
  20. Welcome to MSFN.org Those are some really cool computer specs you have there
  21. Microsoft Windows OneCare Found that out while browsing, the site doesn't say much, but from what I read on it, it seems to be some sort of a AntiVirus from Microsoft which would also act as the Security Center feature from XP SP2. If anyone's using it as beta tester please tell us more about what it does and how it works.
  22. Then why are we concentrating on programs which you can install? What about windows itself, a big piece of junk spyware all together lol, just kidding... but who knows Gbrowser.com domain has a owner... Google
  23. Offtopic. My sentiments exacly, thank you, I'm sure we will discuss it later lol I have a job interview so I'll be busy. On-topic: Take a look at the legal threats a PirateBay(Torrent tracker website) has received. PirateBay - Legal threats
