  1. You obviously did not do the math correctly. More like 10 times those figures. Now, how would the factory process be cheaper for 16/9 than 4/3 ? Then you tell me how much it is .
  2. I would say the Core2duo laptop too, the ATi 1150 doesn’t even come close to the performance of a x300. The x3100 from intel isn’t that bad, but don’t expect to use DirectX 10 with it, they say it supports it, but only when the drivers are ready by next year… I have to correct ripken204, the x3100 will NOT come close to an x1600pro, you could compare it to a nVidia 7100xx or a x1300xx (not XT)...
  3. I keep icons/menus on the left and right of the screen, this way I don’t loose the 124 pixels in height so much. The topic poster has a ATi x1600(xx) so that would not the problem here . That's because you have less pixels as well so it costs less to produce. The further from the "square" shape, the less surface for the same diagonal. Yes indeed, 1.123% less pixels ; it’s more the factory process and the demand for 4:3 screens... Seems that FRAELPOINT has the best prices. I found the LGE/Philips 200AW8FS/00 1680*1050 20.1" wide TFT for 246,60, that would be some 22.20 Euros more then the Samsung SM940BF 19'' 1440*900 19" wide TFT. - TFT Screens are more expensive in Europe then in other parts of the world due to a special TAX on the DVI...
  4. No they are not. taken from wiki: link.
  5. Not only that one alone. There is a risk involved, not that big but there is, when you install the IDE Miniport driver, there is no way you can de-install it. Also, what service packs are installed? SP1 has LOADS of fixes for example; SP2 would be the best... - Chipset used VIA Apollo Pro 133A/686B
  6. Could be a voltage drop, seen it before... When you unplug and plug the mouse again, does it work?
  7. Indeed, I second that. iceangel89, you cannot "low level format" a drive, it’s called as Ponch says "zero fill".
  8. I don’t think your motherboard is bad, check this: - Bad or leaking capacitors any were? - Busmaster drivers installed, eg. VIA storage drivers (almost SURE that’s the problem you have now!) - 80-wire PATA/IDE flat cable used?
  9. I don’t know what is sold in Italy so a link to a shop or so would be welcome . I would take a look at a 19" widescreen (16:10) with 1440*900pix., almost all screens are like that now, in general they cost less then a 4:3 screen with the same diameter, normally 1280*1024pix.. Brands like Samsung and Viewsonic are popular...
  10. If you did what I posted the customer would have got your there system 3 days earlier . Good it´s fixed now...
  11. Check out http://www.msfn.org/board/Enable48BitLBA_B...ier_t78592.html Try to update your BIOS, that could help also. Moving this topic to the hardware forum .
  12. You forgot to say Amen... Good, and with that, let us close this topic for now until some people grow up .
  13. Lack of intelligence... My weenie is small so I have to make it look bigger... Just buy an extreme system not just the basic stuff people use normally, not the stuff you are summing up. Come on dude, that is for newcomers, ANY one could build a system like that. Get your hands on some real stuff . No DDR3? No PCI-E 2.0? No RAID 5 or 10 SAS system? No Voodoo SLI/Crossfire ASUS mobo with the HP chip? No 1.5kW PSU? No extreme cooling? No HD-DVD or Blue-ray? Do I have to go on? All will be okay for one week, then, after that they will even forget you ever existed . And ripken204, there you go:
  14. So why the SLI?
  15. SLI? Overhyped... Just get your self a 100-120 mobo and stuff that other 100-150 bucks in a new VGA card please and trash (sell) the one you have now . SLI is fine when a 8800GTX or a x2900XT isn’t good enough any more, so you can put that second 8800GTX or x2900XT with it... Just my one cent …
  16. First google a bit please . This was the first hit I got with google and it explains pretty well how to disable indexing service. Take a look at it, I’m sure you will find it interesting .
  17. You forgot your PSU .
  18. Just buy some 1.8-1.9volt 800MHz DDR2, no need for PC8500 or any thing...
  19. I would say the Q6600 and tweak/OC it a bit. Mix it with a GA-P35-DS3R (rev. 2.0) or GA-P35-DS3 (rev. 2.0) so .
  20. Wow, that´s fast .
  21. I would use that one, it has a 9.2cm fan but that would not be such a problem.
  22. The Pentium Duo 2180 is still not out in the retail market by the way... And that will be a performance boost of max. 5-10%, I wonder if it can get to 10% real life application speed, sure not for crunching big loads of numbers...
  23. I’m almost sure that was not a transistor but a capacitor, transistors used on those cards are SMD.
  24. As long as you don´t post in Dutch all will be fine . Welcome to the MSFN forums .
  25. I think I´m the oldest here, almost 33 .
