  1. What does?
  2. Updated Progress on jv16 PT 2007's Development
  3. Bug fixes, improvements, potential security vulnerabilities being fixed, new features, etc. Whose to really determine whether an upgrade is necessary or not? I suppose you're still running Windows 98? Looks like it from your signature. Off-topic, though.
  4. Does anyone know where I can get a collection of viruses to put on VMware in order to better test some anti-virus programs?
  5. Have you changed the directory paths set in uTorrent to save all new, current and completed torrents on the thawed drive?
  6. Try VMware Workstation.

What's wrong with MemTest? Used it countless times on PCs at a tech shop, pioneer program.
  8. I've used dozens of registry cleaners over the years and the best one I've ever used is within jv16 PowerTools. See my post about it on my web blog here. But in case you're wondering, using nothing to clean your registry isn't a bad thing. People say that cleaning it with benefit access times, but realistically speaking, by how much? 1ms? My mother once told me that her PC was running extremely slow and that using the registry cleaner I advised at the time fixed the slowness completely. I could spend a month in VMware just doing everything in my power to make the registry vomit on itself, but I don't know if it would really slow anything down. Only one way to find out.
  9. He used Unlocker.
  10. You could try Unlocker, that might work. Afaik, Earthlink is an ISP, but there's AOL and lots of other stuff on that PC as well. Are they with EL or AOL? Rather unfortunate if it's the latter, but that's not the point.
  11. Reformat? lmao
  12. None of the tweaks ever seem to work for me, either, so I stopped using them in nLite.

  14. Ever heard the expression 'jumping the gun'? This guy has a notification telling him it's a network-virus. I think we should focus on proceeding with the suggestions made by myself and Tarun and not giving him yet another program to go out, download, install, update, scan... c'mon...

So make sure you have Java Script enabled, and make sure you don't have any toolbars or 3rd party pop-up/ad blockers preventing it. I use AdMuncher and YouTube in Opera gives me the same message, so I have to add a unique filter in AdMuncher to disregard the site entirely.
  16. Audacity?
  17. Good point, my friend.

  21. @RMS, yeah ok... I've discussed this literally to death to the point where I just can't be bothered anymore. There are too many different setups for PCs, different interpretations and perceptions from users... it's too large of a grey area to know for sure. Whatever works for you, I guess. I just Diskeeper defrag for me and forget about it. My drive is fast and healthy, that's all that matters to me now.
  22. If Kaspersky is unable to remove it, try scanning in Safe Mode. Use Ad-aware SE, Spybot 1.4, CWShredder, Ewido, Windows Defender, HijackThis log would be helpful. Tarun has something that analyses those, although I can usually pick anything suspicious out after all the work I've done in Windows files in the past.
  23. 1-5 seconds makes a world of difference to some people out there. Hehe.
  24. Uninstall, clear the registry of any/all entries made by the game, reinstall.
  25. Unplug, plug it back in? Uninstall, reboot, detect in Device Manager? If 3rd party drivers are used, uninstall, reinstall. Go to last Vista build when it worked if nothing else worked? C'mon, the routine troubleshooting steps. I'd say it's Vista's fault.
