On your router you will need to configure port forwarding to go to the PC that hosts your ftp. To do this most have a browser baased admin system some common ones are... http://192.168.0.100 http://192.168.1.1 http://192.168.100.100 But check your manual Public---------------------router/firewall-----------------------FTP Internet address----------------------------------------------- Local address 80.110.10.87------------<forward FTP to>-------------------192.168.0.2 Does that make sense ? I would also give your FTP a static IP as if another pc conects with a dynamic addrerss of 192.168.0.2 it means the port is open to attack. hope this makes sense

If it is XP I dont see a problem are you giving the PC's time to learn about the other machines on the network or are you testing straight away ? can you connect via \\computername\share and \\ipaddress\share let us know how you get on hail hail

Give some more details please. It should be easy enough to get working. I run a ftp and use a dynamic service to keep my address. As for IIS, I would stear clear of it and use another FTP server. WS_FTP is my choice. The main thing you should check is that the your isp allows you to run a ftp. hail hail

At present I have a PHP script that lets registered users up and download files from my site. It works great but I would like one that uses a SQL database to store the username and password. And if it had groups it would be extra cool..... Anyone got any ideas ?

puntoMX: Thanks for rthe reply ! Since I got the new tft last saturday it hs been on for about four hours; in that time six more have gone dead. I think this is a faulty tft as i bet if it is left on for some more time. More will die. IMHO dont buy digimate hail hail

Try and remove the user from all its groups and the add just the adminstrator group. Reboot, run windows updates and if iit works change the group settings back. That worked for me...... hail hail

I have bought one of these tft's for a friend. They are not heavy users so the TFT seemed fine for Office and Email use. The probelm I have is with the dead pixels... They replaced the TFT with 3 dead pixels but this one now has 5. Has anyone got a digimate l-1715 that works OK ? Tryinig to find out if I should look for a refund or try annd get them to oreplace it again. Thanks in advance
