When you have just rebuilt a PC with a unattended disk and it is up and running for a few weeks, you don’t always want to rebuilt it again when updates are available. My annoyance is when you use the windows update website you have to install there latest software to obtain the updates. Is there a way to incorporate this software in a unattended CD ? Hail Hail

Thanks guys.... got it working now.... Incroyable HULK: Does the order in what ones you integrate matter ? hail hail

As the new hot fixes are out I thought I would try to integrate them in to my WIN XP with SP2 source files and create a new ISO for installation. I have searched for the answer but the search only returns results for integrating automatically with the tools available on the site. I used the following to integrate the updates with my source. Extract the installations files from the download using -C:\xpcd\hotfix\WindowsXP-KB834707-x86-ENU.exe -x Integrate the installations files with my source using - C:\xpcd\hotfix\834707\update\update.exe /passive /integrate:C:\xpcd\winxpsp2 I can integrate WindowsXP-KB834707-x86-ENU.exe and it seems to work fine. When I test it with the command [C:\xpcd\hotfix\834707\update\update.exe /l] it looks to have worked ok. When I follow the process for these updates it does not work. WindowsXP-KB886185-x86-ENU.exe WindowsXP-KB885836-x86-ENU.exe WindowsXP-KB885835-x86-ENU.exe WindowsXP-KB873339-x86-ENU.exe I know I can use one of the tools available on MSFN.org to help me do it automatically but I would like to be able to do this myself. Can anyone shed light on this for me? Thanks Hail Hail

Is there a way of transferring, to PC....
brian873 replied to Marztabator's topic in Software Hangout
I seem to remember a nokia phone that could record calls. I cant remember the handset number but try searching for it on the nokia site. But it was a while ago. A way round it would be to divert it to your home/office answer machine instead of using the moble one. Then you could record direct to your PC if you have a modem capabe of this. most high spec modems can do this from us robotics. hail hail -

Is there a way of transferring, to PC....
brian873 replied to Marztabator's topic in Software Hangout
depending on your setup... In the the UK most operators use voice banks so the message you listen too is stored on a remote system. To have the ability to record this you would need to buy a device to record phone calls. They are easy to get from most electronic shops. Once recorded you could then transfer to your pc via USB/LINE IN depending on the type of recorder you have. For me this would be too much work.... -
Yes it sounds good to me. Hve you done any documents for this ? hail hail

Q 1) Is it true that you do not need to purchase a copy of Outlook 2003 for each user ? Or does each CAL allow you to install on different machines with the copy of OL 2003 provided with the operating system Q 2) I hear that there is a 16 limit on the version of exchange server provided. Is this true? If so does this also include archive folders storage space ? Q3 ) Is archiving easy to implement? Is this space included in the 16 gig limit ? Thanks for the help hail hail

Since moving to a smaller company I now have the problem of Windows Product Activation [WPA] in XP and Office 2003. Windows XP activation has not been too much of a problem yet. But I was wondering the best way to auto activate it after a reinstall. Have found a few pages that describe different ways to backup the unique file and replace it to automate this. Has anyone got any real experience of this, and what are the pit falls? As for Office 2003 it seems that every other day someone is being set to the limited mode. Many phone calls and emails to Microsoft and I am still waiting for them to give me the unlock codes. All the software is genuine but due to a raft of new hardware the software dropping down to limited mode. The software is ours yet we cannot use it. A temporary work around is a rebuild of XP using open office as the office suite. After my little rant I basically want to know is there a preferred way to backup/restore so the software does not need activated all the time or at least stays in full mode not limited. Has anyone got some good advice or help with these problems? Hail hail
